Graytail's 3rd: 4x4, HiBrix, Latest LED Tech, Lots Of Light!

Heheh, you need to totally stay away from Carnival then. It's like smoking caffeine.

I've been impressed with the Paki Chitrals I've seen, yours included - fuzzy trichs All over the place and great coloration. CareStaker also recommended Master Kush, which I've seen other growers rave about. And there's a Larrys OG cross (can't remember the name) that's been getting some attention lately, too. I've found my sativa now, so it'll be time to go exploring elsewhere. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Hey Grey, can you tell me a little more about this Carnival? You got my attention with 'like smoking caffeine'. Lol Can you expand on that a little.bit and let me know where you got your beans? Thanks bud!
Peace, Andy. :Namaste:

Whatever he tells you I can back up with my own experience. The best and zippiest high I've had to date, even taking into account my love for the borderline hallucinogenic high of my Dark Devil Auto. Carnival made my best brownies. She was easy to grow, an almost effortless delight to train and yielded a respectable 59 grams under compromised conditions. Growing it with Doc Bud's HB kit made it all the better.

Graytail had more lights to grow under, so his made my lovely specimen look like a wannabe. :laughtwo: Now I'll step aside and let the Master speak. :battingeyelashes:

Edit I'd peg it as better than caffeine. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Carnival is some of the most unusual pot I've ever smoked. :cheesygrinsmiley: I work evenings and get home about 11:30, so I change clothes, settle into a recliner and then get a good buzz on. But unlike most strains, Carnival has no sedative effect at all. I've always been a fidgety guy, with a crossed leg always moving or a heel bouncing quietly on the floor as I concentrate on something else. I'll find myself at 2 in the morning after smoking dozens of hits, still bouncing a foot and buzzing away. It doesn't, however, have any disorientation to the high. I've smoked a couple of buzzy strains that gave me a headache, and Carnival never gives me that disconnected/confused feeling. It's pretty much exactly what I want in a sativa. :slide:

I estimate THC is in the 20% range, and the strain is a snap to grow. Win/win. The breeder is Ministry of Cannabis. :thumb:

An excellent description of my own experience. The mind was clear and focused with boundless energy. No disorientation and never any crash. Highly recommended with caution. This is not a strain for everyone. It's a delicious, but intense high, one that both Graytail and I obviously delight in.

Life got in the way yesterday so I didn't have a chance to get pics. But today I did. :blunt:

The past week went pretty well. I'm in a season where my environment isn't optimum so I'm never sure what they'll look like when I pull 'em out every week. I put nice pretty plants in there and they start shedding fans, but this week not so much. :yahoo: Trich production has been good, too. All in all, I'm fairly happy.

Rio1 has been spitting out nanners on some wispy lower buds and I've been plucking them off and so far it hasn't gotten out of hand - in fact, she pretty much stopped. But, ahem, I just remembered that I only have a couple Rio seeds and I had been thinking about possibly stressing this one to get nanners so I could pollenate the next one. Then, when she did it on her own, I gapped out and acted instinctively and plucked 'em. :hmmmm: Damn! So ... I'm going to hope for some more nanners and try to nurse enough pollen out of them to pollinate some buds on the perfectly timed Rio2. For some reason the whiteflies adore this plant, but she's fought them off with grace and dignity and would be a gorgeous thing otherwise.

Tikal2 is still making calyxes but it looks like she's slowing down, and I think I'll probably chop her when she's finished this time. The foxtailing got a little out of hand, with the new foliage that came along with it, but they may yet fill out with trichs. I gave this plant another late Cat drench 2 days ago so we'll see what that does. I'll probably chop it in a week or so.

I'm not sure exactly what happened to CarnB. Something fried the crap out of the tips of her fans. Maybe I got too much Brix on them under the bright lights. But the rest of 'er looks great! We're just a couple weeks from finish.

Rio2 responded very well to the double dose of Trans/Tea I gave her, greening up nicely. She's a teensy little thing, but the yield should be respectable, and if I can get some pollen off Rio1 she'll be a great seed maker.

Grieg1 is smaller than I wanted, too. I'm not sure what happened but it just didn't stretch this time - 22 inches tall.

I'm very pleased with Chan1! This is a great strain. Not only does it grow very well, but it roots like a dream and takes training in stride. What a nice canopy!

I was going to put Freddys Best into bloom today, but I've stalled both Rio1 and Tikal2, so it's tight in there. I decided I could wait another week. After all this time, I'll at least get a nice big plant out of it. And I was mistaken about the genetics. It isn't Skunk at all - it's Chocolope x Dutch Haze - so it'll be worth waiting for the produce.

CarnA1 is starting to fill out, but I'm going to have to find some more tops somewhere. I only have three pairs right now and I have it scheduled for bloom in 2 weeks. We'll see. I don't want a small one this time so I may have to give it more veg time.

I have two CarnBs that I potted 6 days ago. I was only going to run one of them, but I decided to run both and stall Rio3 instead. I'll top them soon, probably later this week.

Hope I did not get a tolerance to quick as most of the time.
:thanks: PeeJay for the DarkStar hint.
:scratchinghead: DarkStar and Dark Devil could match for Drakgrow :geek: :ganjamon:

I never have developed any tolerance to Carnival. :tokin:

And the leafy pheno is new to me. :hmmm: I ran one seed with several clones, and now these two more seeds. One of them is just like the first pheno, and the other one is shorter and stockier like SweetSue's, but not leafy like yours.

Graytail, I haven't been through the entire post yet, but I was showing my friend you damned whitefly infestation and she suggested the recipe she's used to great effect to eradicate her own infestation.

I TBS Dawn dish soap (Original)
1 Cup vegetable oil

Mix in a bottle that can be sealed. Shake before using to mix thoroughly.

Dilute 1 1/2 tsp per cup of water and place in a spray bottle. Shake often while spraying

She said this did the trick when nothing else would. I don't know how this would work with all that resin, but maybe, just maybe it could help. Her idea, when I was explaining the stickiness factor, was to get a small, natural brush and work from a bowl.

Yeah, I hear you. :laughtwo: Somehow I don't see you being this meticulous on a plant this large, but she also said it wiped out the whiteflies and she had no more trouble with them, so maybe if you can catch them early enough you can stop them at the onset.

Now I'm going to check out the rest of this update. :battingeyelashes:

Mine would have been less stocky with your lights. :laughtwo:

All those plants are incredible Graytail. I can't wait to see what Freddy's Best does in the flower room. I hope you can get those whiteflies eradicated before the trichomes get fully established on her. She's a special one. I can feel it.

It's always a pleasure to visit your grow, whiteflies notwithstanding, it's always inspirational and makes me yearn to imitate you again. :battingeyelashes:

Carnival has gotten great Smoke Reports but I was wondering if anyone has smoked 707 Truthband yet. It sounds like something I might enjoy.

Hey GT great update as usual.

Id like to pick your mind for a hot minute there if thats fine.

i noticed something about your techniques, we all know how you end up with that a plant shape like that (cause you showed us in detail)

what i'm wondering right now is why the excessive defol at what seems to be like a specific key timing, if i had to guess it would be 2 to 3 weeks before harvesting that you strip down your plants to the point where only a handful of small fan leaves are left and the rest are small sugar leaves beside the buds.

what is the reasoning behind this ?

LOL, you say that like it's voluntary. ;) It's my environment. I've always had issues with yellowing fans, partly because I use relatively small pots, partly because I cram 8 plants into a 4x4, partly because my humidity runs too low this time of year ... :cheesygrinsmiley: They fade and yellow, starting a few weeks after the flip, and I pluck them off as they do.

Haven't tried it myself B A R, but the first place I checked was Seedfinder, where they gave it a 5/10 rating and called it "absolutely ordinary", which made me curious about what attracted you to it.

High Sue,
Not sure what BAR response is gonna be but this 707 Truth came upon my radar as a Herb freebie. So I have a couple of em laying around. Just curious.:nomo:
