Wow

How do you store "long term" (over 2 years or so)?
See the air tight containers, and boveda packs? That's how ;-)
Don't store weed in plastic bags long term like my noob friends or it gets way too dry

Ya eh Gray....about the plastic bags. You newbies out there...don't ever make the mistake of travelling anywhere with your stash nicely sealed up in a baggie , like we used to. Not good ....plastic does next to nothing at concealing your produce ,cuz, believe it or not...it breathes! if i go anywhere with product , it has to travel in glass or air tight metal...if i don't everyone is looking around , ya know. Cheers Gang!

Yep. :cheesygrinsmiley: I haven't gone back and tested the oldest stuff, but it still smells right when I crack the lid for a sniff. :cheesygrinsmiley: And once you've stabilizied the RH, the Bovedas last well over a year without drying.

:thanks: Thanks for the reps, guys!

Good grief Graytail!!! :laughtwo: No fair!!! :high-five:

Thanks GT. I was curious because I see multiple jar types. With your canning jars, do you vacuum them (hot water style)? I'm using quart jars with B62s for long storage (with the screw on lid). They only get opened when moving to pint sized jars. I'm not sure why, but my mind tells me to leave them closed. I suspect most place their crops in jars, cure them, and then just go to the jar when needed. I guess if you are checking periodically, it really doesn't matter if you have an open system. Any temperature concerns you have? I think I'm just a goofball when it comes to wine and weed... Fml

WOW!! How do you choose what to smoke from all those choices? Don't you just want to just pour it all out, and sleep on it? :volcano-smiley: Looking at ALL those JARS just make's you wanna start SINGING or something!!!!:thumb:
But its a good problem to have !!!:lot-o-toke:

Those big pretty cookie jars with the plastic rings in the lids are crap. :cheesygrinsmiley: Don't use a jar with that type of seal to store anything but current stash. They just aren't airtight. The big square ones with the screw lids are iffy. They depend on that plastic coated paper disc to seal and it doesn't always work well. The canning jars with the 2-piece lids are ideal. :cheesygrinsmiley: I dry my herb, strip it off the stems and jar it with a Boveda - no special effort, no boiling. Some time within a week or so, I'll check it. I have enough experience with the Bovedas that I can feel how plump it is, and I'll swap it with a drier or plumper one to suit this jar. Then it typically sits unopened again for weeks or months. I keep several jars by my chair to smoke from, and I crack most of those daily, so I can also track how the strain has cured in that jar. :slide:

[Edit] I just discovered something interesting ...

Have any of you ever weighed a boveda? :cheesygrinsmiley: I just checked several of my ones in use and they ranged from 8 to 13 grams. I didn't have a dry one onhand but next time I find one I'll weigh that too. Sooo ... we know they can hold more than 5 grams of moisture. :thedoubletake: I'm guessing a dry one weighs 5-6 grams, so it's probably more like 8 grams of moisture, or roughly a quarter ounce!

[Nother edit] I forgot to add that so far I've harvested 32 different strains among 62 individual plants. :blunt::cheesygrinsmiley:

Great update Gray as usual. :goodjob: A couple things, your comment on the yellowing with fabric pots :hmmmm:, I grow in them and have been fighting the fade with every strain from landrace to frankenstrain.....it don't matter. I always flip at transplant so I know I have enough soil for bloom..1 gal to 10 and 3 gal to 15's but it never fails they all fade around 8 weeks. I've done the super drenches after CAT's, I've added epsoms, I'm using the Way Ahead (which I like btw) but I just can't get a handle on the yellowing. I have no complaints about the end product but I'm always looking to improve.........so interesting point you made here, I'm hoping we can figure it out.
Have you given the Dr. Grinspoon a good test drive yet?? I'm looking forward to that smoke report.

happy new year mr GT :)

that mountain of mason jars is making me drool :laughtwo:

keep fighting the good fight bud

Happy New Year & thanxx Gray and Pita. So I'll just go with the HP 3.8 to make sure I don't mess up but now it'll be awhile because I have to financially recover from the holidays.

GT, Happy New Year! You label the strain by female first? Am I remembering that from you correctly? :)
I now have HB soil grown seeds- awesome Purple Malawi pollenated strains:
Purple Malawi
Purple Haze(+)
hoping for some Panama(+) too :) chopping now..

Good luck in the new round of contests! :)

:thanks: Thanks, but Carestaker's gonna kick everyone's ass. :laughtwo: Again.

Yup, it's female pollenated by male. Have you seen a trend in the offspring? Do they usually favor the mother?
