Graytail's 3rd: 4x4, HiBrix, Latest LED Tech, Lots Of Light!

The room is 9 inches deeper than a 4x4, at 48x57 inches. :cheesygrinsmiley:

This winter, I'm going to add some insulation, so I'll lose a few inches, but I'll still be able to squeeze 9 pots in there if I have to, and there's plenty of light everywhere. :laughtwo:

Wow - it looks much larger. That's a lot of light! :circle-of-love:

:yahoo: I'm very pleased! And the results I'm getting justify it. It's pretty much ideal for the room. :slide:

I need a bigger house! Very jealous :thumb:

I'd be proud too. Your plants are gorgeous!

Do you just remove it and clean with warm water and dish detergent, let it dry and return? That's the way I do my lawn mower air cleaner. Jim

I'll be listening for Graytail's answer to this Jim, but when they get that clogged you're supposed to pull it and replace with new.

Graytail, thank you for the overall shots. Those little inclusions are of such value. Those couple shots of your space and the lighting array are almost the equivalent of a mini-tutorial to an ernest student of the art willing to dissect them and reason things out. You can't post enough of them.

That's one of those things I really like about hanging out around you. You never stop teaching. :hugs:

Every right to be plant proud. :bravo:

Thank you, Sweetie. :cheesygrinsmiley: I would probably just wash this one, I guess, unless Duggan says it's a really bad idea. It's just a cheapo filter from the 'bay.

Another spectacular harvest GT! I'm sounding like a broken record. Appears that you keep your LED's a fair distance from canopy....what distance do you prefer, do you move the lights up & down or just let plants grow towards them?:Namaste:

I'm running them about 24 inches from the panels - a bit closer for the corner ones. I have a crap-ton of umols, so I'm more concerned about hot, overlap areas. That XML350 does 1000+ umols at 24 inches, for instance. I don't currently run a plant directly under it. :cheesygrinsmiley:

I found, early on, that's it's a lot easier to move the plants up and down to make an even canopy, than it is to try to move the lights.

Well not much I can say that hasn't already been said. I sure do enjoy your updates Gray. FYI that tikal will keep on keepin' on too. I gotta say now that mine has about a 3 week cure on it, it is something special. It is a really nice smoke! I just stuck 6 more into dirt, I'm a lookin' for that strawberry pheno. Great job as usual bud keep it up.

Gray, what kind of heat are you getting off of the lights. Will adding the insulation increase temps much?
That is one wicked set up. Like Sue, your pics speak a thousand words, especially for me. Show it to me, and I got it.

I was really surprised that I can vent all that heat. :cheesygrinsmiley: One of the drawbacks of this room is the 4 inch exhaust vent, which runs 25 feet with three double elbows. :laughtwo: I'm guessing it flows maybe 50 cpm, tops. My intake air is basement air at floor level, so it's always the coolest air in the house, around 72 degrees +/- say 4 degrees. At the peak of a summer heat wave, with 60+ humidity and 77 degree intake temp, the room would reach 92 peak temp, at the worst. That's a 15 degree rise. With normal basement temps, I get more like a 10 degree rise, from 72-82.

It's pretty impressive when you consider I'm running over 1000 watts of light in there. Physics would seem to be violated. :cheesygrinsmiley:

I'm not sure what to expect from insulation. I need it for winter when the ground freezes 5 feet down ... :laughtwo: ... but the uninsulated concrete walls also help absorb and hold heat in the summer. :hmmm:

That's some fine "Cannabis Art" Graytail.:adore:

Great update Gray.

Glad I have a room available at my basement.

Tent sucks and I have to build it now, ordered some more light earlier than planed and tent could not hold it anyway.
Had the chance as a buddy ordered some LED to hop on the wagon and save 15%.
Hope you don't mind I copy your grow as much as I can :cheesygrinsmiley:

I just noticed that I need more plants didn't have enough in veg right now.

My Panama is very frosty and got a great fruity citrus smell hope I like the buzz.

Panama day 27 of 11/13 :thedoubletake::ganjamon:

darkgrow, nice job on your plants!! :)

i haven't met anyone that dislikes my Panama..i haven't found anyone that doesn't love it, actually

Hash is good, while I was coming back from the weed run I rolled some with my fingers :tokin:

Gray, I'm not sure if washing our pre-filters is harmfull to the structure of it....washing may decrease the effectiveness of it ...dunno!
FYI...I don't buy those replacement pre-filters they have...I use pre-filter mat'l that comes in a big roll (we use it here at work for large Air Handling Units) I just cut off what I think I 'l need to wrap completely around the filter. That's why , if ya look at mine it has string wrapped around it to hold it in place. The filter mat'l I use is a little thicker and BETTER than the pre-made ones Can Fan sells. The max. life with the Can #33 filter is said to be 18 months....I'm going on about 30 now....just from running the fan at a max. of 75% and changing that pre-filter often. I need it to last as long as possible cuz I don't have 200 bones for another one! Cheers Gray and gang...have an awesome day .:circle-of-love:

Any chance they (the insulating panels) could be made as modular sections that click into a mounted gridwork? That way they can be used seasonally. Wouldn't be all that thick if you use top-quality materials. Done properly they'd be a breeze to pop in and out.

Just a thought.

I know how you bend the laws of physics, but no one believes me, so we all must be comfortable with it. You just keep cranking out those beauties and we'll let you get away with just about anything.
