Graytail's 3rd: 4x4, HiBrix, Latest LED Tech, Lots Of Light!

I can see it Rad. The draw of variety is powerful and it's not as difficult as it may appear. Ziggy's just using the Kit in an adapted form. I wish Graytail would step into this arena. When I think of what that brain and talent could bring to this table I get all tingly. Hear that Graytail? Keep considering it. Please. :battingeyelashes:

Sue, honestly, if it ain't broke why mess with it?

On rereading, I like your vision :)

Sue, honestly, if it ain't broke why mess with it?

Because Graytail brought up the idea ! - to have an AREA within his grow palace - a garden of lush, fast growing seeds of 20 flavors growing in perpetual flower.

The budtender version of a Lothlorien herb garden :)

I totally love the frequent small harvests of a perpetual grow. I had planned harvesting 3-4 girls 6 weeks apart. I am moving towards 1 plant every few weeks :)

With a perpetual, unless you want to be a home chemistry lab taking copious notes every day, it seems you can choose between nutritious soil or straight to harvest (auto flower style) sea of green. Bottle feeding in a perpetual is just too confusing for my approach to life. I think Ziggy is doing both nutrients in soil and SOG.

I just don't see you, with your beautifully shaped plants, adopting an SOG approach until you are tired of being 'hands on.'

I'm only using Docs HB kit ..HB only ..no other nutes...SWICKs and bigger pots..

i have the ability to use 4 SWICKs in tote covers in my 4x4 tent. 2 on rack shelves, 2 on floor.

I now have over 35 varieties.. :)
with 14 more coming soon :)
i may one day do a smoke in...1 strain an hour x 24. ---- forget happy hour..Happy Day!!

Yeah. Your spot is like the $10.99 China Palace buffet Ziggy! I think I would prefer to dine at GT's... No offence intended. I always appreciated a good banquet chef. You guys are gold!

It ain't broke Baby. Wouldn't ever go there. He's considering a "modification". And a small one at that. Nothing to lose and everything to gain. He's a smart and talented man. He'd be up to the challenge.

Isn't life more fun when you explore on occasion?

Indeed! One thing that you can count on if GT mixes things up a bit; objective well documented observation and no shameless aggrandizement or excessive heroic self-promotion. The dude is cool as a cucumber.

:smokin:

PeeJay, I think of it as a sampling of the strains. I'd rather have a wide selection of smaller quantities than a large haul from one big plant. The variety is what draws me. Then there's the shortened grow time, the stunting, which allows more room for more plants, if you choose. You only need one space, again, unless you choose otherwise.

The end result for Ziggy has been a quick and steady supply of strains many of us dream of having time to grow. And maybe some of us will grow those strains to their majestic destiny. In the meantime, Ziggy pounded one through an aggressive lifespan and already smoked it or cooked it or gave it away.

That appeals to me. Interesting, high-quality cannabis appeals to me. The mere idea that Graytail would consider trying it appeals to me. Call me crazy. I'll gladly accept the title. I've been called worse. :battingeyelashes:

Edit: I in no way suggest that Ziggy doesn't love his plants in the same way I love mine. His amaze him every day.

Ha Ha Sue! You may be a few fries short of a happy meal but I like that in a person... How long did it take for Gray to make the jump to LED? The boat turns slowly with GT. He's properly prudent.

You aren't gonna get any "Dr. Oz" hype from him ever even if you try to pay him off. He's a striking Tennessee Walker with a smooth even gait. Strike him with a quirt and he will maintain his dignity. It's fun that he's thinking about things but I doubt he can be whipped into a gallop to chase the end of the rainbow.

  Ahhhh...... That was good. Sorry Graytail. We kind of walked off with your life there. Sort of presumptuous of us, if you think of it. In my defense I'm a bit buzzed, but I'll always stand on the side of adventure anyway.

LOL! :laughtwo:

At least I was AFK while all this was going on. I'm not sure how much walking horse I have in me PeeJay :laughtwo: but yeah, I don' respond well to demands from others. I decided a long, long time ago that other people were just no good at telling me what to do - I'm better at it. :cheesygrinsmiley:

:blunt:

Thanks for saying nice things about me while I was away, folks. :thanks: :kisstwo:

Still a good laugh. Ahhh.......nice way to end the day. :laughtwo:

Thank you Ziggy. That needed to be said by you. All the rest of us are spitting in the wind and you're harvesting gold. I think I'm happy with my choice, thank you very much. :laughtwo:

Quality over quantity and on a low cost is pretty hard to beat. In Italy indoor bud is unsmokable, it's just garbage. Everybody smokes low grade Moroccan hash instead that won't get me high even if I put a gram in a joint or pack a bowl. What I grow and smoke is so far from street reality that people cannot believe what they just had when I pass them a joint :blunt: I'm still wondering though how my bud would compare to high shelf dispensary smoke in Colorado or Cali, but I don't have the way to verify it :blunt:

Quality is dropping everywhere again and prices are rising. Odds are that in just a few years, unless there is resurgence of club grade cannabis, even mediocre homegrown weed will consistently be of better quality than the dispensary stuff. Corporate production lines will the death of potent cannabis unless the community of small time growers remains. I live in the city where they make all the Marlboro (they plan on releasing their own pre-rolled line) Cigarettes in the world. The complex is enormous with chemical lines running everywhere and exhaust billowing from smoke stacks...sort of a scary to think that is the future of pot.

I am genuinely curious what marlboro is doing as far as legalization in my state. They have been building a complex of greenhouses along the highway on the edge of their facility...I wonder if they will be using them for cannabis despite cultivation being very illegal in my state. Maybe there is something in the works that we don't know about?

Sorry...got derailed at the end.

A mighty interesting and provocative derailment that was CC. If we don't think what you suspect is going on is in fact going on we're a bit delusional and should probably smoke a bit more and put those rosy-tinted glasses back on. :laughtwo: Sorry, I just had the craziest image.... Never mind LOL!

The money to be made after cannabis legalization has already fueled back room deals we will never know of. Those greenhouses aren't for sweet peppers, you can be sure of that.

I have another update! :Hookah:

Some bad news this week - I have PM in the bloom room again. It's not a surprise, really. I was hoping I could skate through the heat this summer without dealing with the high humidity, but it wasn't in the cards. It's been rising into the high 60s and 70s and it finally took its toll. I suspect some of you must have noticed the odd powdered look of one of the leaves on the BHxNexus in that blurry pic last week - I did. I hoped it was an artifact, but nope, it was the tip of a mold iceberg. :cheesygrinsmiley: All the younger plants were pretty heavily infected, with the BHxBB and Desfran unaffected. OHS had quite a bit, but none in the buds so far, and BHxBB is ready to chop any day now, so I think I can nurse both of them through the next couple weeks. I gave everything a good spraying of SNS's neem oil stuff, and I have a sulfur burner on the way. I also fired up the dehuey and the air conditioner - gotta get rid of this humidity.

So, anyway, everything got an unanticipated defol. :laughtwo: They actually look pretty good! We'll see how bad the next few days get and how they react to the neem oil.

BHxBB is maybe starting to grow some new calyxes. It has less than a week to live if it doesn't. I never got 'em to swell individually but they're packed pretty tight, so the buds are weighty and firm. I see a little bit of foxtailing here and there. Tick, tick, tick ...

OHS had a lot of mold on it and it was creeping up into the sugar leaves, so I'm worried about this one. But ... sheesh, look at it! :yahoo: If I have to take it early, so be it. We're at 6 weeks and it's a 9 week strain. I'm glad I have a cut of this one in veg!

Tikal also stopped growing, topping out at 33 inches and she's f'n gorgeous, just the way I want a plant to look. If I can't get the mold under control, this is the one I'll be heartbroken over. Such a great plant!

I was disappointed to find that the PM started in these crosses, but they're young enough now that a good defol won't be terribly disturbing. They looked a little bare when I finished, but they look like a lot of other plants I see - just not so bushy as mine - should be an interesting lesson for me.

Things in veg are looking great, even though temps have crept into the mid to high 80s. With the A/C on now, that'll fall back to the low 80s where I like it. Everything in here has been thriving on the humidity though.

The Blue Dream sprouted, dried up and fell over. So I soaked another one and it popped a root in 24 hours and I got it into soil as gently as I could. I think this one will take.

Wish me luck with the PM ... :Namaste:

Luck, in the strongest terms I can muster. Bummer! Positive thoughts!

It's amazing how they explode from one week to the next. The plants coming up behind are stunning. I need to go back and look again. I'll be doing that all night.

Really. Best of luck.
