GratefulBud's Summer 2023 Outside Grow

Grow Update:
6 plants outdoors. Sprouted around 4/19.
Royal Queen Seeds
(1) Mimosa
(1) White Widow
(1) Watermelon
(1) Critical
Also have (1) SFV OG and (1) SFV Gorilla OG. These two are in SIP buckets with Grow Dots.
The other 4 in fabric pots are fed Fox Farms Trio.
Adding SNS209.
All are about 48 days in Veg.

I up-potted the 4 smaller ladies to their final 7 gallon fabric pots today. Soil is 50% new Fox Farms Ocean Forest and 50% used 1x FFOF.

Here is the SFV Gorilla OG in SIP.

And the SFV OG Kush in SIP.

And of course Drago.

All are looking good - knock wood. I'm spraying neem every 3-4 days. The only bug damage I've seen I think are thrips - small white dots on fan leaves. Neem should knock them down. Something chewed a leaf and didn't like the taste (SNS209) and left. Good.

Hope you had a great day!

I'm late for the party as always but in for the rest of the pool side show.

Plants look great GB!:thumb:

First day of summer update.
All are looking fantastic!
The 4 ladies in fabric pots were droopy for a few days after the up-pot but look much better today.
I sprayed neem on all earlier today. No signs of bugs but you never know outdoors. They can show up quick. I think these healthy plants are fighting off bugs on their own. Well, thats my story anyway.

Debating whether to top again. The two in SIPs are humungous compared to the other 4. I give them only water and a little SNS209. Could not get any easier. I hope I did not just jinx it.

Have a great day!

Thanks Tra!
I'm very pleased with this grow so far.
Me too!

You’re smashing it!

If you have journal of the month aspirations I think you should do a non perpetual stand alone journal.

Maybe SIP Vs Skoll, like a comparison grow.

I'm not a big contest person. Not against it, I just think there are others here more deserving of accolades and prizes.
I post in this grow journal to keep track of my mistakes (and successes), and to track the valuable input I get from other growers.

Mimosa is a miracle plant. Her helmet got stuck and I had to pry it off with a tiny screwdriver. Two days later I found her laying on her side. She fell over and was almost dead. I propped her up and she came back to life. Slowly at first but then she perked up. Look at her now. Pretty as the other ladies for sure.

Never give up!

Nice healthy plants and the pool side view is great.

Quite the comeback story, and the cloth bag plants are on the move again, just in time for summer! :thumb:
Are your plants drinking a lot?
The two in SIPs are each drinking close to a gallon a day. Seems like a lot.

My SWICK is drinking almost a gallon/day but my SIP hasn't quite settled in since the upcan from the top watered 1 gallon. The SWICK has been a SWICK since day 1!
The two in SIPs are growing like crazy! I guess they are using that water to the max.

I put cardboard covers over the soil in both SIPs. Thinking this may reduce evaporation - it will be getting hot here next few days. I took a bucket lid and drew a circle on cardboard, then cut out the disk about a half inch inside the line I drew. Cut the piece in half and notched the center where it meats the stalk, and also notched where the fill pipe is. Easy to remove if desired.

Found this tiny praying mantis - hope he is eating good.

I topped 4 of the ladies again today - left Watermelon on Critical Kush as they were (topped only once).
