Grape Ape & Golden Tiger Hit the Shower - DBHBB & 600W HPS - Winter 2016

I opened the "Cat window" this morning.

GASS #1 has been sprayed. GASS #2 will get it in another day, or three.
GT+ are looking to be weeks away.

More this weekend...

Very nice progress Major, coming along ! They look to be a little further along than mine....started bloom at the same time I think....mmm.Cheers pal!

I'm still very much feeling my way along when it comes to Cat timing - especially with the rocky start these had. From reviewing other HB journals, I'm pretty sure my timing is : A) a little early, B) a little late, C) timed perfectly. I hope it is in the ballpark.

It looks to be a glorious weekend coming up here. We may hit 70 degrees by early next week! It makes me want to play outside so bad. Maybe I can get a jump on my garden prep.

Hey Major

As usual always late but as I always say, better late then never :)

Nice looking Sativas, I am thinking that will be my next grow, all Sativa's. I only got through the 1st 7 pages and then jumped over to near the end, I can only procrastinate so long on cleaning my tents. Sorry you had a rocky start but I figured you would bounce back, you always do.

Will try and get up to speed after I finish my chores

Ya....go ahead and try.....as soon as ya get all organized outside , ya know what's gonna happen don't ya?? It's been glorious up here as well all week....this WON'T last ...for shit sake pal...it could get to -20 in a couple weeks still...it's only Feb . Sure is nice though. With your CD timing...what week you giving the first one? 3, 4, 5? If you look at my four , they look like they could take it now, but it's still too early imo. I like to wait till the 4th week. I've had my best success doing it that way. Like all this 'Kit" stuff, it's a matter of what you like and what works best for you and your plants. Cheers bud!

I'm only going to build the remaining gopher cages for the outdoor plants and pick up a few supplies like fence posts and deer netting. I need to make a gate too. These will be growing in a slightly different spot so our veggie garden can have all the room and I can stay away from the whiteflies.

I gave the first Cat to the first plant on day 31 from the flip, which is about 3-1/2 weeks from pistils. It may be a little early, but this one is moving along quicker than the other. It was the first to show sex and has put on more bulk. The other GASS will be at 4 weeks. They are supposed to be a pretty quick hybrid at 7 weeks. :high-five:

Gotcha Major....good choice for that early one. Have an awesome weekend my friend!:high-five:

Hey Major, finally getting caught up around here. You have done an incredible job of turning your plants around. Everything looks to be right on track now. The GT+'s are very elegant, nice job!
:high-five:
:thanks: Neiko!
Yeah - not a great way to start. Yield from this grow will be terrible but I'm hoping quality can make up for it. :high-five:

I don't know anything about cat drenches cat showers or even cats for that matter.
Better late than never though,
Great Journal Mjr.:bravo:
Vlad:bongrip:
:welcome: aboard, Vlad!
IDK much about cats either except if you give your plants a cat spray, make sure it came from Doc's kit.

I hope to get an update posted later today, but not much new to report.

Weekend Update (week #11)
32 days since flip to 12/12, 23 days from first pistils

Greetings all!
This couldn't possibly matter to anyone but me. I noticed the titles of my updates are a little wonky. This is the start of week 11. It has been 70 days since I spotted the first seedling pop its head above ground, so it has actually been 10 weeks of growth. Meh...

Since GASS #1 just received its Cat Drench two days ago, there is not much new to show or tell. GASS #2 got a full Transplant Drench (5 ml Trans + a lil' Tea) yesterday since it isn't quite in the window for its CAT (I think). All plants got two half-strength Brix foliars last week along with a Destress. So far, so good. Buds are frosting up nicely.

The Tigers are biding their time, stretching like the Sativas they are. GT+ #2 grew almost exactly 12" this week and is now 35.5" tall from the soil line. The leaves look a little listless but not burnt or showing any kind of real problem. Buds are just beginning to fill in a little.

The Apes should be about half way home, but the Tigers look like they will go another 10 weeks. Nothing too exciting, but here's where they're at.

It is impossible for me to frame a shot that will get both the little guys and theses Tigers on stilts. :cheesygrinsmiley:

GASS #2 is the slower girl. She got tied down a little so I could open up the middle and get more light down into some nice buds in the center.

GASS #1 is about a week ahead of her sister.

GT(+) #1 is also about a week ahead of her sister. No idea why. She is also a little shorter/smaller.

This is the real slow-poke, GT(+) #2. I feel like I'm growing bamboo and I'm not sure if they will make it out of the shower after another week of growth. I suspect they will both need staking soon as the buds weigh them down.

Whispy, but at least they have the right idea.

I finished up my pots/cages/baskets for the summer grow. We're expecting a few days of spring-like weather so I'm going to begin the job of mixing up 400 gallons of soil to cook for a couple of months. Ugh.

I hope the rest of you get to enjoy your Superbowl Sunday. I'm not much into watching sports, so instead I'll be outstanding in my field.

Till next time. :Namaste:

Awesome Major...gotts tellya pal....i just don't like the looks of how that GT (+) #2 is growing....i know , i know (all you Sat. lovers out there) it'l prolly be the nicest smoke out of the lot, perhaps, maybe...it just looks so, ...so gangly and that...ya know...look at her...skinny lil fu...er aint she!;)
Pots look ready to go brotha, nice work. 75's are they? Holy smokes ...i'm excited to see them in action....you gonna start an o/s journal for them? Have an awesome day Major and Gang!:circle-of-love:

Looking good Major. I am with you on the Superbowl. Not my thing, so I have some other plans. The girls look great, although never having grown a sativa, I was surprised by how lanky they are. I am interested to see how they progress.

@Duggan and BrixNewb-
I'm with you both. I've never grown anything this close to a pure Sativa. Are they doing what they should be doing, or are they all 'F'd' up? No idea. All I know is, if they keep growing like they have for the last two weeks, I'm going to have to break their legs. Hopefully the stretch is over and they will begin to fill out some.

I will get an outdoor journal going at some point, but probably not until this one is close to done. Two journals at once is one too many for me.

Thanks Major,...ya, bad news for ya ....that there GT(+) #2, she is 100% NOT done growing up yet! " Warning , warning ,Will Robinson":hippy:
I'm thinking....mmmm, another 12 -18". Holy crap major, she's just getting goin now, look at her.... Sorry pal, just can't help myself LMAO How long she supposed to go....10-16 weeks  This MLI is only supposed to take 50 days....what the....we'le see eh! Anyhow Major, the weather is nice up here too!:thumb:

I'm afraid you are right, but I don't know what I can do about it. I keep the lights so close to the tops of the Tigers, I'm on the verge of burning them. I sometimes move the HPS up twice in one day.

That's what I'm waiting for; this year's major outdoor grow by Pita.

Ya ...tuff one Major. I know what you could do but , it hurts...... Bend them down at around 18" down from the tops at a 90 degree angle and support them there with stakes or wire/strings. Know what I mean pal....don't let them fall all the way down so they will snap off ....just "break" them down to be horizontal . This may be all you can do Major , cuz they got quite a bit of growing to do yet. If you do try this , keep in mind they will recover and the tips will be pointing back up in a day or two at the most, while most of the branch will stay horizontal for ya giving you lots of head room for them to finish without bleaching or burning them. Just a thought Major,....I know you don't wanna do it , but you may have to . Cheers ...:Namaste:

I'm OK with busting them down. I've been considering it. I think it could help the yield since it would allow me to get more light down into more of the plants. As it is, the tops are right at the lights but most of the plant is two feet down.
