Grandpa's Second Try - Come Join Us!

If anybody else has an opinion or comment about the above post, please feel free! One other stupid question that hit my brain is... Would both be Mars Hydro 300w and Growant 400w lights be too much? I really don't think so, if kept on the veg setting, and then turn on the bloom setting for one of the lights when the auto goes to flowering? Or would that trigger the photo plant to start flowering? I don't know... In my brain, regardless of color spectrum, the more like the better. We'd just have to keep close track of the height. And my close, or completely out in the left field bleachers?

I would leave them on full spectrum. I would keep the growant for vege and then if anything add the mars hydro 300 once everything was in flowering .

You don't need much to veg but lots of light for flower .

Hmm let's see I'm sure someone else maybe with more experience can pipe in here .

Fresh Brain Today Discussion... Let's jump in... Good day everyone, feel free to join in and help Grandpa. ;)

1. Soil Layering - What does Toasty with the Mosty think? I layer, but coco is mixed? Or Anyone?

2. Intake fan - What does Toasty with the Mosty think? OR Anyone?

3. lights mars and growant on together.

When the photo and auto strain start off together only use the veg lights, you might only need one on depending on how close or far you are. But you may want one light on per plant if it's too far from the plant. Again, I can't gage that, sorry. Toasty can help with that... ;) Or Anyone

4. seeds remaining - autos x only 2 photos

*Does anyone have any bones for this doggy?
He wants to go bury his bones so he can play with them later.
Gotta love animals. ;)

5. Love Toasty's suggestion i think it's bang on, just gonna put the MC discussion on the table that may help with high porosity.

6. Cultivator??? This is your chance to shine and chime in... the floor is open to you anytime.

7. I would like to thank each and everyone of you who has helped Grandpa since the beginning of this journal. I feel like it's a neutral place of friendships that makes this grow so special. We all put Grandpa & K, first, before anything else. And for that, I am truly grateful. This will happen, I won't give up. :thanks:

Hi KJ, I agree, I use Promix HP and two cups of Promix organic veg, 1 cup of worm castings, then my line of general organic nutes and I'm good. Good thinkin' KJ! This could very well be a consideration. But I think Grandpa wants to use up the rest of his soil supply. ;)

Yeah see next summer once I get funds If we haven't got him going I want to get him advance nutrients. Just the base at least grow micro bloom or we need someone to give this guy a recipe something that is on a medium where he doesn't have to water feed everyday . Tough genetics would help too. It saying what he has isn't. .

I look for simplicity , quality and one day all organic is my dream.

But same quality as an nutes .

Really i just want to help this guy grow medicine no one man nor woman should go without meds and he wants to do this so bad. It hurts I can't be more of help . Specially at this time of year .

But gramps if your listening I ain't going nowhere till we start getting you at least two ounce per plant of top shelf meds .

Money is tight for me. Actually broke myself bud . My wife and I had to only get ourselves pjs .

But I will contact you and help find your mission i believe that what we are all doing here is really a statement of how a community can come together .

I'm useless now but I'll make it right .

All right, now I'm really confused... LOL

I'm trying to get others here to figure out the easiest way for you to grow medicine given the situation .

One thing a man comes here for is to learn feel wanted and appreciated.

Others come here to leave a statement - leaving a special piece of something magical . This is how I view your battle gramps .

I dot know you worth Adams and eves . But one gets a sense over time of ones character . respect is earned and you have mine .

Merry Christmas and happy belated birthday pal..

I think Toasty nailed the next move with his suggestion. I was only speaking of the future. I think KJ is just putting ideas out there to consider.

Yeah more or less

It would be great for him to try the coco loco with his nutes.. i cant say it will work as i havent used it yet. But tbh he needs something that is PROVEN to work so im not sure if i can recommend him using it right now.

Sorry im going back on what i said a little cause i had originally recommended him use it with the build a soil then we found out that was the problem all along. So guys and gals i really dont know lol. Im new to all this so yea. I dont know more then yall do.

Fair enough Toasty. That soil problem was NOT your fault. We figured out it was at the source. Nothing on you, sorry to put pressure on you. We all want the best and Toasty you have contributed the most because you want this to happen so freakin' bad.

If we evaluate the coco mix, I saw a more stable growing environment than with the flower power soil. The coco route has been successful for many people, and the ingredients were exactly what he needs for veg, n'est pas? I think you're questioning your instinct because of a third party error and I'm here to give you the reassurance that you were on the right track, water n go, eventually add nutes if necessary.

You had to rely on that outside source to know what they meant, so we roll with the punches and move on as skillfully as possible.

Grandpa thought it was his transplant this whole time, he carried that guilt throughout.

My growing techniques I spent hours on were hindered by the lack of progress too.

We ALL spent valuable days reassuring Grandpa that "growth would explode now." Making him believe that the rabbit would jump out of the hat but it didn't. I'm feeling the loss too, so I'm trying to be as open as we can.

Just remember, this is experiemental in nature, you can't get any more complex at this point in the project. I'm feeling like I wanna drive to Grandpa and sit outside his window whenever he needs help. I will sleep with the dogs. :)

If this were easy, everyone would be here helping... I'm just dedicated to see this through and this is where we are united...

Just one word... Ditto.

KJ...you are far from useless. Look at your grow's! You do such good work. And you have helped me as well. I just want to make sure my appreciation for all of your and everybody else's help is known. The best way that I can show my thanks is to try and help others when I finally get something successful under my belt. Who knows? Maybe this wonderful family I have made here will be able to help in spreading the word to get more visually impaired people to learn how to grow without site. So... Rock on! :young-plant:

What do you wanna try doing gramps?? I also have a question for ya.. do you use the chemical ph up and ph down?

Haha that is very true lady.. if it were easy everyone would have a go at it. Unfortunately growing isn't as easy as we make it seem.. my outside veggie garden this year was friggen pathetic lol. The soil was definitely to blame.

Thank you very much for all of your efforts even as busy as you are. The same goes for everybody else here in this thread. I Echo all of your sentiment or Christmas and the New Year. I hope your Jesus's birthday is one full of love, peace and wonderful family time! May God bless you and yours and let his countenance fall with his grace and love upon you.

I like Toasty's idea too. Any and all input is a good thing. With all of the different things swirling around at the same time, I just got confused. Confusion is now gone, and I really like the idea of going with that setup. The only questions now remaining would be whether to layer the soil, and how to actually get the lights going through the Grove Cycles.

Does that help Grandpa? Because someone (can't remember) mentioned coco we are persuing this... I don't have experience in coco at all... I just have experience in what KJ and i are mentioning. So I chatted him up on it... ;)
My thanks to both of you. We now have a landmark to go to. I love your idea of having something in back up, sis. I had that in the middle part of my mind all along. It seems that the biggest challenge that we've had is the growing medium, so the more options the better to find the right one. Bravo to both of you!
