Just got back from a day filled of appointments, but happy to be home now.
Wow, your little girl is beautiful Grandpa, lush is right.
Kelley nailed it with those chopsticks. Just make sure that no mold aka light fluff feeling around the bottom of the chopstick where it meets the dirt because you are micro-watering around the stem. If Kelley was just to wipe those sticks off weekly you'll avoid any light airy fluff feeling of mold that is created when you sometimes use wooden sticks for support.
I accidently know this only because I used popsicle sticks when I first started out, and they had a donut ring of mold around the bottom of my sticks. So no biggie, just one of the experiential things I get to share with you. I think chopsticks are bamboo? So they may repel water. Don't know at all...hahaha.
Grandpa, you have come far with your understanding of your plant. So far you've learned germination, seedling to early veg growth stages, and nailed the transplanting. You have troubleshooted nutrient burn (was not your fault), micro watering schedules and overall health of your plant.
Technically you should be able to do your next grow all by yourself. hahahaha but you will never have to cause you got 420 family. I just always want to keep pointing out things you are learning that we experience as growers with sight. All done with your own hands.
The fact that she looks so happy is because she's a reflection of you, so keep those fingers learning and tracking growth spurts after micro watering. I noticed you've been using that term, it made me smile.
Lastly, about your new light. I'm kinda torn. From the research I have done the light isn't bad, it's just not as powerful as it claimed to be.
However, my issue with it from a disability perspective is...(in my honest opinion)
1. It's not as easy to hook up like your Mars 300w where you can pinpoint certain mechanisms.
2. There are no rotary dials or finger landmarks that you can remember when trying to '"use" it.
3. The owner got caught in some lies, how do we know he didn't lie about the safety of this machine. I'm scared you leave that thing on and there is an electrical issue and no way to hold the manufacturer responsible. There is no guarantee it's 100% safe in my eyes. What if someone turns that light on in an old house with old wiring.
4. Where are the USL, CSL safely stickers? testings? certifications? inspections? Certified Specs?
5. When we tried to help you find a manual there was none online which is a red flag in any tech industry.
6. Will it draw more from the wall than the 300w you currently have, we have to keep your bills down.
7. I would hate to bother Jane right now when your current light is doing a fine job.
8. I think it would add work to Kelleys already huge workload to figure out which button to press...right now that is. That light has a higher learning curve than the Mars right now. It's not easy to use for the visually impaired.
9. Did the owner actually pm you the video he promised to send to you on how to set it up? Probably not? Not willing to help you aka 420 community member? (not willing to teach growers with disabilities on how to use it)
10. If you use the light, I would recommend for the next grow. But I would start 2 plants just in case one gets heat stress, you won't be too disappointed if you have another plant to work with.
11. This is NOT a light I would recommend for someone with a neuro disability either.
12. Write less lists in my life...hahahahaha
Have a wonderful growing day!
