Grandpa's Second Try - Come Join Us!

Words cannot describe our appreciation for the prayers, HH. I can hear all of that in her voice, and feel it in her mannerisms. I'm sorry that you had to go through something like this. :namaste:

The good news is that for me, the surgery turned me around. I hope Kelley doesn't have to wait until her surgery to feel better but hopefully the surgery will completely remove the issue. Take care both of you!

Not much else to report really. One thing... It seems to me that the space between the soil and the first set of leaves is quite a distance. Do you guys suppose that possibly she is already stretching? If so, would you recommend to lower the light a little? Inquiring minds want to know... LOL

I'm with penny. I wouldn't adjust the light. But when you are ready, I would see if there is any way you could add some soil. It will help her support herself and new roots will eventually form where you bury the stem. Just my 2 cents gramps. Hope Kelley is doing okay. Have a wonderful Friday

I have some left over from the original potting. I can probably add some without a hitch. Do you suggest that I moisten it first, or as it comes out of the bag?

Totally your call! It may be a little easier to wait until when your next watering is add the dry stuff on your dry top soil. Don't pack it down, per say, but make sure it's nice and near her stalk. Then just water like normal! May need to break your "watering away from the plant" for a few waterings. This encourages root growth off of the trunk and after a week or 2 Jane will begin to form new roots where you covered her up! :thumb:

Scenario #2 say you want to continue your watering practices. Grab her original container. Fill it. and water it slowly once it feels hydrated you can build a nice ant hill type mound. I would suggest still leaving a little lip of the container abover her soil. That way you can ensure water doesn't run down the sides.

Humidity could not be read because of that malfunctioning meter.
Jane got 32 oz of 6.7 water. This time, I tried to keep it away from her toward the spacious part of the pot. My thought pattern is that if I keep it just out of her reach but give her a little taste, the roots will start heading that direction instead of toward the shorter part of the pot. Don't know if it's a dream on my part, or if it will work out that way.

The roots will always go for the water Gramps. You are absolutely correct in watering that way.

Definitely agree with Dabber. I would add another inch or two of soil on top....will definitely help give her better support.

She'll be ready for some water very soon, tomorrow at the latest. I am going to get the soil ready, and added when it's time to water. Will take a picture after that's done. Hope everyone has a great weekend, and God bless!

Jane looks awesome Grandpa!! Like PW said, she's praying towards the light now - she's now strong enough to really put some weight on and grow for you ;) Good job Grandpa

Thank you, HHS. All I can say is... About time! LOL :tongue-out:

Hey gramps haven't said hi in awhile my friend how is it going buddy
Hiyas KJ! We have our difficulties away from growing right now, but apparently, according to my fingers and what people say here, Jane is doing well. Thanks for asking! Hope things are well in your world. I'm going to have to go and catch up with your and others journals when I can. I'm still all subbed in, but haven't had the time to keep up. Good to see you, bud.

Kelley added some soil to the top of the pot, and covered her stem about 1in more. She got 64 oz of 6.8 water.
I have decided that I will go ahead and set up and use the Growant LED when it comes time to flip for flowering. Here are a couple of pics after the soil addition and watering.

Definitely looking a lot better grandpa
Smiley face here . Haha

The growant light will be a good light for your flowering and it should get her nice and sticky for ya lol

Maybe try to do a journal at home if you can. Keep voice notes on a cell or something to say okay this time im watering On this date . And in day blah blah blah. See where I'm
Trying to go with this buddy. Then when you hear us say water again it's you can start to learn more or less under these environmental conditions. I need to water at this day roughly x amount of water to her? And you will know roughly how many days it seems to be averaging to water or feed?

Does this make any sense buddy question mark?

Just trying to train your body to go by days feel touch man your truly awesome buddy peace sign emoji

Awesome gramps she's growing very well now. Added soil will help support her for sure. Just keep at it! You got this :thumb:

Thanks a lot, KJ! Yes I see your logic. I'll see what I can find on the Play Store. I believe I even saw some Journal apps proper for growing. I'll see what I can find. Great suggestions! :thumb:
