Grand Daddy Black Grows A Stack

And it's been hot as hell around here!

I think I'd give Stella a little more water (or a little more often) than you think you should...I'm of the mind that even if they don't need the water, they like to know it's there- just in case.. 😁

Overwatering won't be a thing as long as the heat continues...
I need a Zoot Bomb cookie to calm me down! :)
Ya know, a Name like that would sell a lot of cookies on the internet...💰🍪🍪🍪

I would definitely see if less light will help out the fussy CL clones, which are behaving just like their mother if I recall correctly!
Yeah, think I will Shed. I'm going to elevate the FKC and turn the light down a bit.

Thanks for that Carcass! I was going to give her some tomorrow no matter what my moisture meter said. It just seems like it's the right time, maybe past the right time!

How many you want? 😁

Hello all.

It's Day 46 for Stella and the indoor clones and my patience is wearing thin.

Those Cosmic Lights clones continue with their grumpy ways. I notched the light down just a tad yesterday, hoping that by this morning I'd see some small change for the better, but it was not to be. They remain, you know...funny looking.

I had not intended to let these plants grow much at all. That's why I put them in such small pots (2 gallon). I thought I would have flipped them by now, but I've held off due to the condition of the CLs. Now I'm thinking just go ahead and flip 'em and whatever will be, will be.

I had toyed with the idea of letting the Fat Kid's Cake (tan pot) veg for longer and transplanting her to a larger pot at some point. She shows signs of being a beefy one if given the chance. But with the 2x2 too hot to really use for anything other than starting seedlings, I no longer have that option. So I will be flipping the clones very soon.

Out in the yard, Stella endured her first rain storm last night. (That's so normal. Because I watered her yesterday morning.) It rained really hard but the storm only lasted a hot fart. She came through it with flying colors and a fly on her leaf (circled)!

I Like the look of the outside lady its got good color ! Maybe trim that up from the soil next time your there, those branches just take away from what you're looking for this fall ,Just a suggestion GBD . 1/3 of the way up from the container from inside to out👍

They remain, you know...funny looking.
The hooked leaves tell me that
their feed may be a smidge too strong...
They do appear to be just a little greener than the FKC...
I don't think it's the light.🤔

Not sure what Stella's waiting on...flowering is just around the corner, so she's going to have to do something pretty soon...(whether she wants to or not.😬..)

I now suspect the same, Carcass, that in combination with temps in the tent being too high. (In the afternoons, temps usually climb to around 88F and there's not much I can do about it.)

I'm feeding them dry organic nutrients via top-feeds. I'm going to adjust how I feed the CLs. I'm also going to top their pots off with more soil as a way of perhaps "diluting" her future feeds. The FKC clone is loving the feeds as much as the CLs don't care for them, so I'm not going to change anything for her.

These CLs are "different."

She's probably been waiting for some more water! :)

My indoor girl was getting to 92 in the late afternoons last week- as long as there's plenty of air movement, 88's not that bad- (plenty of water, too)
She was down to 3 quarts a day, but that heat brought her back to a gallon a day, and she's continuing with that even though it's "only" 80 this week...

Hello all.

Just a quick update on Stella on her Day 47. Over the past few days she seems to have become a little energized!

She had been holding at 12 inches in height since last measured on June 20th, but over the past few days she started moving up again. She's now at 15 inches.

I think it's the miracle of water! :)

Hello all and Happy Sunday!

It's Day 49 for the Phase II clones and I'm trying to make things right for the Cosmic Lights clones. They continue to look grumpy but they live on. :)

Last night I topped off all of their pots with Roots Organics Lush soil. As I was doing so I was thinking that it's no surprise that the CLs, finicky as they are, have not reacted well to their transplants. Their little 2 gallon pots had lots of room for more soil on top. When I transplanted them I had not prepped enough soil and so I kinda' stretched out what I did have prepared to enable me to up-pot all 4 of the plants. My intention was to add more soil a few days later. I did not. Score 1 for the Lazy-Meter.

However, I dosed them all with the dry nutrients per what the schedule says for 2 gallons of soil, but I didn't have 2 gallons of soil in the pots. The result was some hot soil and the CL objected mightily. The Fat Kid's Cake clone (tan pot) said I don't give a shit, I can handle it!

The Lush soil is highly fortified and should support the CLs for a minute while allowing organic nutrients to kinda' cool down. That's my hope. I'm skipping the CL's bi-weekly feed of the dry nutes that's due today for all of the plants. Only the FKC will get fed.

For me, a true newbie to outdoor growing, she's intriguing! I look forward to seeing how this story ends!

I hear water has that effect on plants!
I think what you've heard is true! :)

Howdy GDB I have a question and idea for you to try to mitigate the hot soil.
The question is Do you mix the dry in any type of compost or castings and for the idea which i implement myself is rather than top dress it by itself put in in a touch of compost or EWC'S so all that microbe food you put in there can be used in short order remember the dry nuits are microbe food and are not usable until they break down to a usable form for the plant so maybe kick start that process a week early with the biology in the EWC Or compost, Just a tip from an organic it works for me! Just a different way of doing things Have a GREAT SUNDAY!✌️

Thanks SOG. I'll give it a go! :thanks:

Wasnt the mother cosmic light a tad on the grumpy/stuck up side as well? I recall you having one that was just giving you all her unnecessary attitude and tested your patience a good deal. 💚
That is so, Jiggi. She's the one that got banished to LB's place due to her poor behavior! :Rasta:

I come here to stave my grumpiness off brother. :passitleft:
I hear you! It works too. It's hard to be grumpy when one is focused on so many wonderful grows! :Rasta:

Back again today, y'all.

I got some pics from LB. The remote Cosmic Lights looks like she's doing okay. She's still short but she seems healthy. LB told me that the discoloration on her leaves seems to have stopped, but it's hard to tell in the pics he sent.

I'm still not convinced that she's in flower. It looks like she's still putting out single leaves and the pistils remain in still-life mode.. And I damn sure texted him when I saw this pic asking what the hell are those yellow things! He hasn't responded. (His daughter took the pics. And she has the same sharp sense of humor as her mom. She may have put that there just to mess with me.)

Here's LB inspecting or suffering from gas, I'm not sure which. 😁
