Grand Daddy Black Grows A Stack

Hello all.

Today Stella is having only her second truly sunny day outside. This day was worth the wait though. Just beautiful!

I'm looking on my phone now:

Temp: 80F
Humidity: 30%
Wind: 9 mph
Zero percent chance of rain.:yahoo:

The indoor clones are looking content so far. I had to do a little training on the FKC clone (tan pot) just because she was begging for it!

Have a great weekend all!

Hello all.

Stella continues to inch up on her Day 29 (yesterday), but where's the beef?

Hello all.

It's Day 32 for my clones and they're about to get watered today.

I haven't watered them in 9 days. That was when the got their first top-feed of Roots Organic nutes -- 1tsp of Foundation and 1tsp of Terp Tea Grow. They're just now showing signs of wanting water.

It's kind of exciting. When I consider how their roots were banging in those solo cups I can only imagine what's been going on since they were transplanted to the 2 gallon pots. I suspect I'm going to see some sort of growth spurt with this watering!

And Stella is out in her "early morning" spot on her Day 32. She'll sit there until about noon in full sunlight. Then I'll move her to her "remainder of the day" spot, where she'll get more full sun until it starts getting dark.

Nice growth!
Thanks Shed. But do outdoor plants typically grow slower than indoor ones? Because the clones inside are out-pacing this one.
Beef's coming!
Well I'll be watching, Stone! 👀

Thanks for stopping by.

Looks a little shady! I mean like shade vs sun, not suspicious.

One thing to keep in mind is that your indoor plants are getting more hours of grow light than Stella is (not counting the porch light as grow lighting). DLI is great, but a plant under 18 hours of grow lighting will grow faster than one under fewer, even if those fewer are in the sun.

Also, it's easier for roots to grow in a nice warm environment inside than left in the chilly night air, so that might be contributing to slower growth at this stage as well.

Fred Sanford to Grady: "Grady, Grady, you sure are shady."

When I was looking over my estate to determine if growing a small plant in the backyard was feasible, I thought I scoped out a few spots that would work just fine. But I left something out of the equation: the large tree in my next door neighbors backyard!

As the foliage on that tree gets denser, the amount of sunshine reaching my yard gets diminished. Bummer. So now what had been a great spot for early in the day (before noon) is going from being sunny to partly sunny. Then around noon a better spot presents itself where I can move Stella under full sun for about 6 hours or so. It's not ideal but I have no options. The front yard is off limits per you-know-who (and I would not care to be that conspicuous anyway).

So here she sits around 8:30am in her formerly full-sun spot.

Guess I won't be trying this again.

I beginning to see some growth from the indoor clones on their Day 32.

It won't be long before I'll be flipping them. I'm going to try to see if I can get them to the end in the 2x2. It might get a little crowded but it should be doable. Height is my primary issue, as the 2x2 is only 4ft tall. But with these strains, if flipped soon, they should stay fairly short.

Thanks for taking a peek.

"Let the sunshine in!"

That's a bummer for the outdoor plant . I know I have a lot of trees in my yard its a PIA sometimes , but the shade is nice ! 90F Hott !
Yeah, the heat is in the bag, Smoke. Ain't no tree limbs gonna' block that! And everyday next week is predicted to be in the upper 90s. 🔥

Hello all.

When Stella does get to bask in sunshine for extended periods she really seems to enjoy it! :)

Hello all.

We're going through an intense heatwave in this area. Everyday this week is projected to be in the mid to upper 90s, excepting Friday when temps are expected to reach 100 (and stay there throughout the weekend).

It's a good week to see if I can keep my middle room (where the 2x2 tent is) at a low enough temperature to finish the clones in the small tent. In the past it's been rather difficult but I might have a chance this year.

It's nearly 10am now. The outside temp is 78 and climbing. In the tent is 85 degrees with 49% RH. If it stays in that range for the week, I'm good. If it gets to 90 degrees in the tent at any point it's on to Plan B.

Thanks for your interest.

They do look happy with 85º though, so :goodluck: keeping it close!
I got myself some moisture and temperature sensors to use in the yard and the other day one got over 100 at the ground. Tomorrow is the longest day of the year too so it's all downhill from here! ;)
