GG7's Indoor/Outdoor Grows!

Hey HMG!

Thank you! :Namaste:

I have to say that GDP has been a pleasure to grow and regardless of what size the plant is, it always produces and impressive yield for the space you are able to give it!

SO GLAD that I have four GDP clones nicely vegging in my bathroom grow room! :)

Are you going to flower all of the GDP clones in the spring, finishing up outside?

Are you going to flower all of the GDP clones in the spring, finishing up outside?

Two of them yes. Eventually.

The other two will likely become mothers and once their clones are out of danger and doing well, I will flower those two as well. This would be sometime around March of next year.

:Namaste:

Oh my god! Thats is truly AWFUL!! It is hard for anyone who loves animals and has even an ounce of compassion in their heart to imagine how someone could be so cruel to an innocent animal!

Just like the SOB that dumped a 4 week old Kimba on our road in 31 degree weather in the middle of the night! How can someone be so heartless? While I love animals, I have complete disdain for evil people and won't hessitate kicking someone's ass if I catch them doing something like that in my presense! Got me into trouble more than a few times when I was a young buck! ;)

Damn good thing I wasn't able to make out the make, model and color of the truck the jerk who dumped Kimba was driving! While in a way I owed them for bringing Kimba into my life, they didn't know that when they dumped him like that. A thorough ass kicking would have definitely been on the agenda if I was ever able to track them down! An ass kicking or worse!

I LOVE animals! Cruel and heartless humans that the world would be better off without?... Not so much. ;)

A cokateal eh? Very cool! Those are super intelligent birds! I don't think I could live with the shreaking though! My aunt has one along with a managerie of budgies, turtles, cats, dogs, you name it! That Cockateal is the loudest one of the bunch! :laughtwo:

OMG! about 3 months ago I got a kitten that was also dumped by the lake. When my friend found her she was so weak and barely alive. I took her and nursed her back to health. She had a respiratory infection and her eyes were glued shut. I took her to the vet the day after I got her and he said she was 3-4 weeks old. She is doing great now and is in her hell on wheels stage. We call her Gator (she does the gator death roll when she plays with you)and she is my little shadow.

I am sorry for your loss and I hope that if the time is right you will be able to rescue another.

Hi Kat!

That's a great story with a really wonderful happy ending! SO GLAD that you were able to rescue her from what would have been certain death! Fortunately, Kimba found me relatively quickly that night, but we always figured that he was probably not alone out there, and his little brothers and/or sisters were not so fortunate.

Anyone who would dump a helpless innocent little life out in the wilderness like that deserves to die the most horrible death imagineable, and then spend eternity in Hell reliving that moment over and over and over again, forever. Even that wouldn't be punishment enough in my book.

I'm really happy for you and that your little survivor is still with you, bringing you so much joy! Keep her close, and don't make the foolish mistake we made in thinking that she could be trusted outside at night on her own. Even the most fearless and experienced of our animal friends could get themselves into trouble out there in the dark forest at night. And we won't be there to help them when they need our protection the most.

I'll take that terrible lapse of judgment with Kimba to my grave.

To Gator! May she live to a ripe old age of 18+! :circle-of-love:

Thanks again for sharing with us! :Namaste:

GDP #3 Chop and Weigh In
Impressive! But could have been even bigger!

When all was said and done, I ended up losing about 12 ounces of wet trimmed bud to the bud rot that resulted from the cold damp nights these past two weeks. This kind of stuff is the downside to growing outdoors. At least if you like to finish the plants during the fall. The weather can really make things difficult sometimes.

Anyway... Here are the final photos of the harvest

I decided to go ahead and trim the raw buds up as I clipped each branch from the plant. I left all the buds on their main brances and just trimmed off all the fan leaves and the majority of the smaller bud leaves as well.

The stuff was so sticky that I had to clean my two pairs of clippers and my hands no less than 5 times with alcohol before I got through it all. There was A LOT of bud here! A few of the colas were well over 3 inches in diameter trimmed! :thumb:

Even after all the trimming, the large colas lost to rot, and discarding the small lower branch budlets, I still ended up with 1 pound 8.40 ounces of choice GDP bud. Based on my previous harvests and the size and density of this particular plant's yield, I am going to predict 7-8 ounces of dried premium GDP bud.

These were also the darkest purple color of any of the three original GDP clones. The bud branches are now hanging in my dring closet and I hope to have one last set of photos for you of the dried bud on Sunday, or early next week. :cheertwo:

Thanks for watching and have a great rest of the week! :thanks::peace:

:Namaste:

Good morning! That as always is a great job. those buds look extremely dense and tasty! :bravo: :welldone: :goodjob: :thumb:

Very Happy for you my friend! I am sure you prediction will be close and if so that is a great haul. even if it is anything above 5 it is great considering what you lost.

:peace:

Thanks again MS!

I am more than pleased with the impressive harvest and the buds are about as dense as a Cannabis flower can get based on everything I have ever grown here. :thumb:

As you know, the denser the bud, the more susceptible they become to moisture related maladies, and this plant's flowers were no exception. I'm just glad that I caught the potential problem in time before it destroyed the entire plant. I am pretty sure that this would have happened if I had left it out there any longer than I did.

Fortunately, none of the other strains still flowering a way out there are showing similar signs.

The next plants on the harvest agenda are going to be the BBK clones and the original Blue Cheese mother plant. I'm looking at maybe another 5-9 days on those based on the weather of course.

The Purple Urkle and that Purple White Rhino, probably somewhere in that same range. I fully expect some loss from the Urkles because of the conditions now, but at this point, I have so much supply right now, that I don't even need any more! :laughtwo:

It will be nice to have another batch of BC bud though! I was really sorry to see it go last time when I ran out.

goose my buddy, did u miss my last post?

I think I did! I'll go back through here and find and reply to it. Sorry about that Chief! I'm still in a daze! :scratchinghead:

This one? I "liked" it, but forgot to actually reply to it in all the confusion of the harvests and such.

My condolences for Kimba my good friend...I will be dedicating next couple nights to catch up here and on OMM's journals...

PS. Not sure if your interested, but I have 2 WELL BRED Jack Russell Terrier's that really need some more space to run. Let me know, for you they are free my friend.

Thanks GT for your heartfelt condolences and that offer for those pups is a very special gesture. However, I currently have no plans to get another pet right now. Its too soon, and if I ever did get a new friend, it would have to be an orange tabby cat like my Kimba Boy.

According to cat experts, these tabbys are known for being highly intelligent with unique personalities and unusual traits that make them much more unique than your typical cat. When I read that on Wikipedia and a few other sites, I was really pleased! I guess a lot of Kimba's special gifts came from his genetics!

Knowing that as I do now, perhaps some day when this incredible loss eases, we might start looking into it. :Namaste:

Purple Blueberry Kush?
Is that even possible?

Well... Seeing is believing I guess!

These are some of the mini BBK clones that are less than 12" tall. I am also finding some purple turning leaves on the larger BBK clones out there too. Obviously the cold is having a major impact on this kind of behavior.

Just thought I would share these photos with you guys, since we have been seeing everything out back turning purple lately... All but the Purple Urkle, who remain GREEN with no hint of a change. I'm starting to really doubt that those clones are actually the real article. If they aren't Purple Urkle, then what the heck are they?

Only hint I can give you Urkle experts out there is that they smell like pine cleaning solutions, like Pine Sol. What strain smells like pine cones, pine needles?

I had to make this my first post here. I’ve been following along from the sidelines for a while just watching and learning. I’ve learned so much valuable information to help me get started. Thank you for sharing your labor of love. The shrine for Kimba is both beautiful and inspirational, and I, for one, will be watching for the ‘Miracle Plant’ updates, I’m sure this is probably just the first sign of Kimba’s presence.
I lost my cat a few years ago under similar circumstances, and like Kimba, the backyard was His domain. After I lost Him, I could feel His presence when I was in the yard working or doing whatever, and I think it was His way of letting me know He was there with me. I would imagine you will feel this as well, maybe you already have. One thing I know for sure….. Kimba will be shining His love upon your garden Forevermore! God Bless.

Thank you SO MUCH for taking the time to post and sharing your own story of loss with us! My condolences for your loss too! I do know that time does help make it at least a little easier to get through the day. I'm honored that you chose to make this your very first post! :thanks:

Like you mentioned... I too feel that Kimba's spirit is still here in the garden and in all of his favorite places. I really felt his presence the other day when I was harvesting the big GDP plant. He was always there during those moments, grabbing at the falling fan leaves as I lopped them off one by one. He seemed to like the GDP the best which is probably because of its unique a very pleasant scent. For whatever the reason, they were always the plants he loved to nuzzle up to when he walked by a low hanging bud. ;)

Thanks again for sharing and I'm pleased that you have enjoyed reading my journal! Makes me feel like what I am doing here is helping others in some small way to grow better plants, regardless of what kind of plants they are! :thumb:

Just wanted to let everyone know that I just posted my first strain review of this season's grows! The buds have been curing for over 4 weeks, so I sampled some this morning. All I can say is.... WOW! This stuff ROCKS! :thumb:

You can read the full review along with photos by clicking the link below.

Blueberry Kush Strain Review (BBK #1)

Feel free to leave your comments and questions in that new thread. I'd be happy to answer them anytime!

The buds from GDP #2 are almost done curing too, so those will be the next strain I post a review on over there in that section. :)

Colour is beautifull GG.

How goes it in purpleville? If the Urkle has lime green buds and bright orange hairs, I'm guessing the "purple" part is recessive in your plant somehow... Does it? Seems like that characterizes the purple strains that don't go purple to me...

Though, I don't remember anything pine smelling about Urkle. I've had a couple of strains where "pine" seemed part of the bouquet, and that's from a pretty small sample size, so it'll probably be tough from that description.

I dunno. I'm definitely no Urkle expert, but it's my favorite strain flavor wise. :)

No to go check out that strain review...

Nice harvests GG7, :bravo:

Thanks GS!

I was reading up on BBK this morning while I was posting my strain review on it, and I did find several references related to its changing of color based on environmental conditions. Purple BBK is totally normal for the strain if subjected to cold overnight lows during the last few weeks of flowering.

So... It looks like I can add BBK to my long list of strains that turn a dark rich purple if left to finish outdoors into the middle of October up here in the High Sierra! :)

I was just out back checking trichomes on all the remaining plants, and it looks like they all have at least another 7-10 days to go before they will be ready for harvest.

Will be posting a trichome photo update here shortly. Just uploading the photos to the site now.

Stay tuned! :thankyou:

Hey XL!

Thanks for the input! Yeah... The whole thing is a real mystery to me. I got those two original clones at the same time I picked up the two BBK clones. This is also the same source that got me my GDP clones, and we all know that those and the BBK were 100% legit.

Only thing I can think of is that perhaps, these two got mislabled and were actually some other strain. However, I have found some photos on the web of Purple Urkle in flower, and besides the difference in color, mine have the same unique bud growth pattern and long branching style. They also totally fit the description of their veg growth style too.

I just put some under the scope and snapped some 90x photos that I'm about to post here. They are far from being ready to chop, so perhaps it is just not close enough to their final flowering point yet to turn purple? Perhaps these things wait till the last minute to change?

I have a feeling that whatever these things are, they are going to pack a punch! They are as sticky as hell! Just brushing up against a flower bud while watering leaves your arm or hand glistening with resin which is sticky enough that I have to rub it off with rubbing alcohol!

If you press a resin coated thumb and index finger together with this Urkle resin on your finger tips, it actually takes some force to pull your fingers apart! Very GLUE-LIKE in terms of sticking power.
