Thanks man! :)

Actually, I took these early this morning right at sunup and it was a beautiful sunrise today. Every time I try to take shots of these very tall branches, the wind is up and they keep swaying back and forth! :laughtwo:

At least early this morning it was totally calm. :)

Wow goose! I dont think i could put a flame to that. yeah right!:rollit:
whats the smell like?

Goose looking great as always man did you get clones of that white rhino? amazing pheno!

Hi Mitch!

Sadly, no.

I took some clones from the Northern Lights plant but later culled them due to their fast paced vertical growth. I can't overwinter plants with that type of growth behavior. Its short, slow and bushy or nothing for me this time of year indoors.

I may bring the harvested base of the plant inside to see if it will reveg, and if it does, I can take cuttings then for next season, but the stalk is about 3 feet tall before the first branches start, so who knows.

No doubt that it is a very unusual strain of White Rhino, but it could also be a simple case of the plant reacting to our mountain temperature swings this time of year. Either way, it sure makes some unique and gorgeous flowers! :thumb:

Damn man you on the purple shii! Quality stuff as always man, Check out my basically complete journal in my sig! Got Nug photos and a short time line! I think you'll be impressed man! Haven't update in a while either so check it out!

Hey Jay!

I've been kind of out of sorts these past few weeks over our loss, so things are moving along at a much slower pace than normal. The energy level just isn't there like it once was.

I will try and get over to your journal sometime today and see what's up.

Thanks for checking in! :Namaste:

Hi Gitter,

Not much of a smell believe it or not. If you get your nose right into them they have a mild lavender aroma. Maybe they will get a stronger smell as they get closer to harvest. Based on the trichomes through my loupe, still clear and cloudy with no amber yet. I am figuring another 7-10 days.

Hey there GG7!

Man those are looking extremly beautiful! Nice work my friend!

I like your reveg idea if it is at all possible. That would be a really cool overwinter project!
Glad to see the weather is holding out for.

:peace:

Yeah! Our extended forecast looks clear and sunny all the way through next week! :thumb:

The edge of a cold front is supposed to come through here tomorrow, lowering temps below normal, but hopefully that doesn't mean a frost or freeze. If I can get the rest of this stuff out to the end of this month, I should be able to harvest everything remaining without any loss due to weather! :)

MINI BBK Harvests
Decided to Chop a Few

I was curious to see what kind of high I would get from BBK if I harvested them earlier than the usual trichome ratios I normallly use. This time, I harvested two of my miniature BBK plants that were showing mostly cloudy with some clear, but NO AMBER.

I manicured them right out there in the garden before I brought them in and hung them in the drying closet.

Here are a few photos I snapped for your viewing pleasure! :)

I kinda like the ease and simplicity of the one, big, long cola and just a few fan leaves to trim off before hangin! :hmmm:

Might have to try this same technique with some GDP clones next season! :)

VERY NICE!!! :thumb:

Thanks "K"!

I figured that I may as well start taking in some of the smaller plants and getting them on their way to drying and curing. This also gives my an opportunity to sample the difference in the high (if any) from plants that get harvest early before any amber trichomes show up, and the usual ratio that normally dictates the particular plants harvest time.

Great as always my friend, looks like a giant MJ lolli-pop! lol :thumb:

I will be very curious if you find any differences and what those are if any.

Hope all is well with you.

:peace:

GOOOOOOOOSE!!!! Great idea. And so beautiful too. You will sometimes be amazed in the differences , and sometimes wish you had done this to all. Small plants with 1 main cola work very well for this as they tend to mature very evenly. Looking great buddy, our prayers are with you.

Thanks MS! :)

I started raising these mini plants because of how successful my first two cloning runs were with the T48. I didn't have the room for that many full sized plants, so I put a bunch under 12/12 for three weeks and then moved them outside when the light cycle was such as to keep them in flower mode.

I can see why people do the SOG thing. Makes a lot of sense when you have limited space, and it sure as hell is far easier to harvest these little ones than a 9 armed beast 6 feet tall! :laughtwo:

Definitely something to consider for next season. Especially if we decide to exapnd our pepper crop beyond our usual number of plants. That will mean less growing spaces for Cannabis, so smaller plants might be a good solution.

Hmm.. small plants with one main cola, sounds like SOG. I heard that's the best way :))
Btw, visit my thread I did some updates and would like you're opinion.

Hi KV5! Thanks!

I will check it out!

:thanks:

I just wanted to mention that earlier this morning, I clipped four colas from a few of the Purple Urkles, trimmed them down to pure bud, and then put them in the drying closet. Like the mini BBKs, I wanted to see what kind of buzz this strain provides and also, if it is time to harvest the rest, or allow them continue flowering for another 7-10 days.

The buds from this strain are not as dense as BBK and CGP, so although the live colas measure about 3 inches in diameter, I expect them to be far more airy and less dense than what I prefer.

Hopefully the medicinal effects will outweigh the less than 5-Star bud density.

Sorry about the lack of photos. This small Urkle harvest was totally spontaneous as I was touring the garden and surveying everything out there from our Cannabis to Red Jalapeños and four varieties of tomatoes.

My Cannabis harvest philosophy has totally changed over the last few weeks during our personal tragedy. I am now relying more on gut instinct than magnifiers, scopes and check marks on a calendar. I was taught a very painful and lasting lesson for not trusting my intuition, so I am going to take that failure and try to turn it into a positive.

So... All of my remaining harvests in 2011 will be based on intuition and not on the use of my previous scientific methods.

Success or failure is irrelevant at this point. A test of my own intuition and connection with my plants is going to be tested here. My six sense I prided myself on failed me miserably a few weeks ago, so I want to see if it can redeem itself with these remaining harvests.
