GG7's Indoor/Outdoor Grows!

Hi Ya GG7
Those are some massive buds Good Job Brother and Oh Yeah the Weber grill is the best. My heart is breaking for you brother and am hoping that Kimba just shows up one day. I lost my "Captain Jack" last year and it hurts deep ....I KNOW BROTHER.
:peace:

Hey, GG7! Beautifull pics, as usual, and those GDP buds are just gorgeous! :welldone:

Very sorry to hear about Kimba! My deepest sympathies, as a fellow pet owner/lover!

Hang in there, Bro!

Thanks Mr. Krip! Glad you liked the update.

I really appreciate the sentiments and as a pet owner you obviously know how hard something like this is to put behind you. Especially when the animal was such a big part of your daily routine like Kimba was with me and our gardens. Its just not going to be the same around here without him, and the thought that I am never going to see him again is incredibly hard to acccept.

Now that was an UPDATE! very nice indeed! I knew we were a lot a like in fact I have that same exact grill! lol

Those GDPs look so good I think I am visually stoned! LOL - really great job my friend!

So very sorry to here about Kimba, what a tragedy! I sure hope you don't get into any trouble either, it would be a shame.

As always way to go GG7!

:peace: and LOVE to our closet friends!

Thanks as always MS! I was thinking of you when I was preparing the photos of GDP #1's purple buds! I knew you would especially enjoy seeing those! :thumb:

You've got the same grill? Awesome! I LOVE my Weber! No doubt about it! They are the BEST! I have one of their smokers too which I'm going to be pulling out soon to smoke up some of my famous Smoked Salmon! That was Kimba's favorte treat, and again, it is going to be hard to do that without thinking of him.

Thank you as well for your kind words and support over our loss. Our PM exchanges definitely helped me deal with such a terrible event as this.

In fact, the 420 site as a whole has been wonderful therapy for me and a really great way to escape the cold reality of what a loss like this can do to your entire outlook on life. I always figured that he would be with me when I was old and grey and the future looks so empty and cold to me now. I just want the pain to go away! I don't think I have ever been effected by the loss of a pet as much as I have over the loss of Kimba.

He was so special in so many ways and his love of life was an inspiration to everyone that knew him. Even our neighbors down the road are feeling the loss and the pain since Kimba always made a point to visit them every day and say HI. He loved everyone and that love was so unique considering that it was coming from a type of animal that is usually so aloof and independent. We have two other cats besides him, but they are just cats. They don't have that "spark" that our little Kimba Boy had.

Thanks again guys! Your sympathy means a lot! :Namaste:

Hey Clayhead!

Glad you're pleased with the bud development as much as I am! As you may recall, I was worried that I might loose that plant a few weeks ago. Thank god the transplant into a bigger pot saved her!

You've got a Weber too? WOW! Like MS said, I'm not surprised! Great minds eh? :thumb:

I love grilling and cooking in general so I always make a point to buy the best tools I can get! We own a Bluestar restaurant grade stove too which if you know anything about cooking gear is about the best stove you can buy for your home. Cost as much as a used car and weighs 450 pounds, but worth every penny! You can see it in the background in some of the shots I took during the weigh-in of my BBK and GDP bud harvest a few weeks back and in my HomeMade Clearex post. Two 30,000 BTU main burners and a full size oven so you can use professional full size sheet pans for baking! I LOVE that stove! Great for stir-frys cause you can set the Wok right down into the bowl of the burner and get the heat up to where Asian restaurants have it. I always say that you can't get a restaurant caliber result from your recipes wihout a restaurant grade cooker! :thumb:

When you live out in the boonies like we do, there ain't a heck of a lot of choices for dining out, so we bring the resturant to our kitchen instead! :)

Thanks for your kind words about the loss of Kimba. I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your special friend too. You would especially understand what this feels like and how hard it is to accept. It always seems to be the special ones that get taken from us too soon! Last weekend when I was taking those Urkle updates, I said to myself that I really needed to get some shots of Kimba with the plants since he was always just off to the side of nearly every image I have posted here on 420. I'll never have the chance now. This shows you how fragile life can be, and why you should never put off something that you can do today! I've got to start heeding that advice more!

Hi GG7 - Really sorry to hear about your cat. I went through that not long ago, myself, and it can really put a person into a funk. You don't always realize what a part of the family they were until they're gone. Hang in there buddy - really sorry for your loss.

On a lighter note, those GDP's - specifically 1 and 2 couldn't look yummier. Hell, they all look great! :yummy:

I have a lot of respect for people who grow such beautiful plants outside. There are a lot of challenges to outdoor growing that we don't always have to deal with inside.

:goodjob:

Hey XL! :)

Thanks Man! I appreciate the sentiment very much! Like Clayhead, the fact that you recently lost a dear pet too gives you the same insight into how hard it is to move on and accept what has happened. I'm sorry for your loss as well. FUNK is right! I've been trying to carry on as normal, but it is impossible to shake the constant reminders and that wave of sorrow that hits you everytime you see something or find yourself in a place where you shared some good times with them.

For me, that is everywhere! The other cats could care less about the garden and my daily routine, but it was Kimba's favorite time of the day. He loved the water for one thing, which anyone who owns a cat knows is VERY unusual. Ever since he was a baby he loved to play in the sink. If we left the water running in the kitchen for some reason, you would often find him sitting in there pawing at the water going down the drain with the faucet pouring water all over his head. He would get soaked to the skin and we would have to towel him off, but given the chance, he would be right back in there again! It was pretty hilarious sometimes.

And you should have seen him in the snow! He LOVED snow, and when our first snows came, you couldn't keep him inside for love or money! He would bulldoze his way through the front yard making trenches everywhere he went! I just found a couple of pictures of him out in the snow last year. We still had his harness on back then that we used to train him to stay in the yard. Ultimately, it didn't work too well. :(

Thanks for the props on the outdoor grow too! I'm VERY pleased with how everything has turned out so far. Not just the Cannabis but our tomatos and peppers too! We have had a banner year for everything in the garden this season. The weather has been perfect for growing and we have been spared the usual summer T-Storms that can really do a lot of damage (heavy rain, winds and hail).

We do have an early winter storm coming in next week though as I said, so hopefully I don't have too many losses from that!

Hey GG7 your yard must be pungent sure people can smell your ladies far and wide! GDP looks amazing could sit and look at that photo long time.

Sorry to hear about your loss souds like kimba was a very special part of you i know how your feeling brother. And im sure 420 will understand, he too was part of your journey through this journal so he deserves to be remembered.

+Rep on that GDP shot frosting is insane!

Hey Goose,

Great pictures of your cat, again so very sorry that he did not return.

The buds look absolutely outstanding my friend!!!!
I think they are definitely contenders for the bud of the month :) .
I do see one big problem though. How in the heck are you going to smoke
all that by yourself. I think you will have to send me some of the bud so I
can help sample it for you. :biglaugh:

Hey! Thanks Godspeed! :)

Your compliments and sympathires are most appreciated! I was hoping that the 420 staff would understand why I wanted to include Kimba in my journal. Even though I didn't include any photos of him with my plants, he was there for pretty much every single one and was my little helper through all of these grows.

In fact, when I was taking those photos of the BBK plant I have entered in the Plant of the Month Contest, I had to put him inside cause he kept jumping up and getting in the shot! :laughtwo: He had to be where the action was, and when I was taking photos he always wanted to ham it up for the camera!

As far as the smell goes... Not so much! I get a little whiff of skunk from time to time, but for the most part, all the plants out back smell like perfume. A pleasant smell of flowers, and with all the indigenous plants we have up here that do smell, the Cannabis is far less pungent than things like Bear Clover and Cedar.

Glad you could stop by!

I'll be posting the second weekend update a bit later today. I am anxiously awaiting the end of the POTM contest cause it looks like I might win! :yahoo: Thanks to everyone here who voted for BBK #1! :thumb:

Hey Budman!

Thanks as always for checking in, and thanks again for your thoughtful PMs during this very difficult week! It means a lot!

Believe me dude! If there was any way I could share some of my crop with all of you, I would do it in a heartbeat! Like other growers including yourself, I enjoy the growing part more than actually smoking the harvest! While I use Cannabis for my chronic pain issues, I don't partake during the day and only invibe in the evening after all the work of the day has been done.

That leaves me with a pretty impressive supply that as I said, I would be happy to give away if there was and easy and safe way to do so.

Thanks again for your support and your compassion! Most appreciated! :)

There's no need to understand. As far as I'm concerned, the post was "on-topic" since Kimbo used to help you tend to your garden and, I can see in the pics where you had your outdoor grow! Would a pic of Cervantes or Herrer be off topic? I don't think so! :)

Well Goose we will have to come up with a safe way to share our cannabis.
You know something like Paypal for mediating our money transations. We can call it something like "Share-A-Toke." :biglaugh: haha

Hey Mr. Krip!

Thats what I figured but I was warned by one of our friends via PM to be careful about posting off-topic photos on here. Apparently they just got banned for doing that, but this wasn't their first offense and apparently they had been warned. Still... I think this situation is totally different anyway since as you said, Kimba was part of my gardening routine and although I never mentioned him before now, he has been a big part of these plants from my point of view and I do want to pay omage to him now that he is no longer with us. :Namaste:

Just requested a quote from both vendors for ten of the 2.4 gal Air Pots (although one doesn't have them listed). I think I will be using them for a hempy grow to see how they work out.

Hey Steve!

Sounds good! I will be curious to see how they compare on price. CalGrowers is an authorized Air Pot dealer so they must carry the entire line and I would think that they would be in a better position to get you what you need fast.

In my case since they are located less than 150 miles from where I live, I always get my order the next day as long as I place it before 4PM.

Not sure if you already have one or not, but if you order from CalGrowers, be sure to ask her for one of those little yellow drivers that can attach to a drill or powered screwdriver to screw in the fasteners. Makes it much easier and faster, especially if you are assembling a bunch of them at once! :thumb:

When I get the quote back I will make sure to ask for one. I am going to order 10 of them, I think that is the most I can fit into my tent. I'll be using five of them for the Challenge Grow with JZ. Hempy in coco style. And with the disco LEDs I'll have to my "hempy-coco-a-gogo".

:laughtwo:

Can't wait to see that in action! :cheertwo:

I bought 8 of the 2.4s myself on my second order for space reasons. The dimensions work out such that the pot volume doesn't seem that much less than the 3.4 but the diameter of the pot is smaller enough that you can fit a lot more of them in a row. Since I have half of my indoor plants in the bathtub, that can make a huge difference in whether or not I can fit an entire brood under that single light station.

Weekend Update II
Plant of the Month Victory • The Indoor Grow

First of all WOW!! Thanks to all of my friends that voted for BBK #1 in the Plant of the Month Contest! You know who you are, and I just wanted to say thanks from the bottom of my heart! A special thanks to GodSpeed, DeBudman and MSquared for their kind words and support during such a difficult time! My little buddy would be proud! He watched and "helped" me raise that girl from a humble little 4" clone to the plant that took the prize!

I went ahead and dedicated the win to Kimba and fortunately, the 420 staff have made an exception and will allow my picture of Kimba to remain on the POTM thread! :cheertwo:

Just another reason why I LOVE THIS SITE!! Don't know what I would do without it now! It has become such a vital part of my daily life and my growing projects! :)

I really needed a bit of good news this week, so this is especially significant to me! :Namaste:

Now... On to the update!

GDP Clones 4-7

These gals are looking better and better every day, and as you can see they are filling out nicely! I am especially pleased that they are bushing out instead of growing UP, since that is the kind of growth I prefer with my limited space and light fixture height.

I recently installed a hose fitting on this bathroom's sink so that I can use a garden hose and a spray nozzle to water these plants. If heaven forbid, I ever run into any soil issues in here, I will be able to use this hose to "Drip Flush" any ailing plant without having to move it outside first! :thumb:

Blue Cheese, Northern Lights and BBK Mothers

Like the GDPs, these plants are loving their new air Pots too!

Northern Lights

Blueberry Kush #3

This plant continues to amaze me with how lush and green she is! I have mainly been giving her and the other mother plants our clean tap water with the occasional feed of Fox Farm Grow Big every 7-10 days

So there ya have it folks!:thanks::thankyou::Namaste:

I will be back later this weekend with my tribute to Kimba. Stay tuned!

What do they charge for shipping?

Vary on the quantity and the size. Shoot them an email there's no online cart to see really. haha They like to do business with interaction. Those buds looking sexy. Someday I'll do outdoor grow for now I'll just peak at your garden. RIP cat. I just lost a fish few days ago...it still hurts.

Well Goose we will have to come up with a safe way to share our cannabis.

Now wouldn't that be great! Wine growers get the satisfaction of being able to share the fruits of their labors with the world, its too bad that we as growers of Cannabis are not allowed the same freedoms.
