GG7's Indoor/Outdoor Grows!

Weekend Update II
Plant of the Month Victory - The Indoor Grow

First of all WOW!! Thanks to all of my friends that voted for BBK #1 in the Plant of the Month Contest! You know who you are, and I just wanted to say thanks from the bottom of my heart! A special thanks to GodSpeed, DeBudman and MSquared for their kind words and support during such a difficult time! My little buddy would be proud! He watched and "helped" me raise that girl from a humble little 4" clone to the plant that took the prize!

I went ahead and dedicated the win to Kimba and fortunately, the 420 staff have made an exception and will allow my picture of Kimba to remain on the POTM thread! :cheertwo:

Just another reason why I LOVE THIS SITE!! Don't know what I would do without it now! It has become such a vital part of my daily life and my growing projects! :)

I really needed a bit of good news this week, so this is especially significant to me! :Namaste:

Now... On to the update!

GDP Clones 4-7

These gals are looking better and better every day, and as you can see they are filling out nicely! I am especially pleased that they are bushing out instead of growing UP, since that is the kind of growth I prefer with my limited space and light fixture height.

I recently installed a hose fitting on this bathroom's sink so that I can use a garden hose and a spray nozzle to water these plants. If heaven forbid, I ever run into any soil issues in here, I will be able to use this hose to "Drip Flush" any ailing plant without having to move it outside first! :thumb:

Blue Cheese, Northern Lights and BBK Mothers

Like the GDPs, these plants are loving their new air Pots too!

Northern Lights

Blueberry Kush #3

This plant continues to amaze me with how lush and green she is! I have mainly been giving her and the other mother plants our clean tap water with the occasional feed of Fox Farm Grow Big every 7-10 days

So there ya have it folks!:thanks::thankyou::Namaste:

I will be back later this weekend with my tribute to Kimba. Stay tuned!

Congratz on your win in Plant of the Month my friend!!!:bravo:, :goodjob: & :Namaste:

If I could offer just a little bit of advice: I would trim just a couple certian leaves so the your under branches can grow up. Just trimming a few will help in ways you can't imagine. I have grown plants in a small area for a while and the more light that can reach the colas is the best. I mean no dispespect GG7, your ladies are beautiful but just imagine what if light could get to the under branches as well... It will become a monster bush......

I am far from a Pro but I think this would help your grow...

Hey man! No worries.

But what plant are you referring to? All the indoor plants are mothers for next season, so I am not really concerned with bottom growth with those. I just need to over winter them until I can start taking cuttings in March. :)

My plan right now is to Bonsai them to keep them from taking over the grow space! :laughtwo:

I was just saying you could get double the amout of growth if you removed just a few fan leaves that's all.... Then you could top them and make them twice as bushy... You said you had limited space I'm just wanted to help you use that space...

Still don't know which plants you are referring to. ??? I've got close to 40 right now and most have been in my recent updates! ;)

Since you mentioned space I guess you are referring to the indoor plants. But as I said, I am planning to Bonsai them, so that will basically accomplish what you are getting at. At least I think that is what you were suggesting. ;)

Hey, GG7! I just saw we're both winners this month! :high-five:

That BBK bud was just gorgeous, and we both had worthy competition! :welldone:

Tell all the BBK clones that their Mom (may she smoke in peace!) just won a beauty contest!

Congrat's, Brother! :Namaste:

I thought I quoted your photo's so I must have meant those photos that I seen. They are beautiful ladies, please don't get me wrong. They look like a pine tree, if you remove just a few lower & upper fan leaves it would bush out a lot more. That is all I was trying to say.

:Namaste:

nice job on winning the plant of the month! I skimmed through your journal and i am very impressed. I love seeing all the purple stuff outside. I am considering getting some purps i think it might do well in my area we to get a little chilly at night in the fall but warm in the day. I would just have to watch out for mold our weather here in the fall can go from tropical like, to lows in the high 30s in a matter of days anyway good job and keep it green. I mean purple and green LOL. :peace:

Right! Sounds like you're talkin about BBK #3! I hear ya man! It does need some pruning! I was going to start on my Bonsai project this week, but then Kimba disappeared and I haven't felt like doing much of anything since. :(

When XL used the term "FUNK" to describe how he felt after loosing his cat, well he couldn't have picked a better word for how I feel. :(

I just can't seem to shake off the deep sorrow. I have my moments of feeling almost normal, but then I see one of Kimba's toys or even his favorite cat treats on the counter and I am toast all over again! :(

Anyway.... Thanks for the suggestion! I agree!

I understand there is a time for greiving. But what would he want for you to do? Procrastinate { I don't think I spelt that right} or grow with all your might?

Only you can answer that question.....

Hey thanks gittergreen!

Where abouts in the country do you live?

When I read up on Ken Estes and how he created GDP, I was pleased to read the part about the cool to cold overnights! I immediately wanted some GDP clones even before I ever smoked the bud! That kind of wild temp swing is normal for the Sierra for a good half of the year! After buying some bud I was hooked, but it took me over a year to get my hands on some genuine GDP clones. (the real thing/original is clone only)

I highly recommend the strain as well as the BBK! While the latter isn't a purple, it smokes a lot like one! :thumb:

I hear Purple Diesel is really good and readily available in seed form! Check out Medicinal Organic Nursery! They make great pot! My Blue Cheese plant came from their bank and it was truly awesome stuff! I still have the original out back in her second flower! But not before she gave me a single clone! "BC #2"

Anyway, I hear that MON's Purp Diesel is equally awesome and VERY PURPLE! :yahoo:

Thanks for stopping by and I hope that you will stick around for the big fall harvest coming around the 9th of October!

Good point! Although Kimba only got interested in the plants if they were in "his" garden. ;)

:cheertwo::cheertwo::cheertwo: NEW TOY!!! :cheertwo::cheertwo::cheertwo:

After going through one of the worst weeks of my life, and on the other side of the coin winning the September Plant of the Month contest, I decided to treat myself to something positive. Something I've had my eye on for months, but had been waiting for the price to come down.

But... With my fall harvest just around the corner, and at least a 6 month wait for any significant price drop, I woke up this morning and said F IT! I'm going to buy myself an early Christmas present! I think I deserve it, and hell! I NEED IT! :)

Check Out MY NEW TOY!! :adore:

I've been reading some impressive reviews on this camera, and having been thoroughly pleased with my last Olympus camera purchase back in 1999 for roughly the same price, I figured that I would once again get more than my money's worth out of this gift to myself! :)

I've always loved the look of the old 60s style 35mm cameras, and the design of the E-P3 takes me right back to the Leicas, Nikons and Olympus of that time! With a touch screen interface built into a big retina type display, manual focus, interchangeable lenses and an impressive macro section, I figure that my ladies will never look better than when photographed with such an awesome camera as this bad boy! :thumb:

My new toy arrives on Tuesday just in time for the start of my pre-harvest photo sessions! So hold on to your hats guys! If you have been enjoying the photos I have been taking with my circa 1999 Olympus 2.1 megapixel camera, just wait till you see what my plants look like with a new 12 megapixel camera made by the same great camera maker!

I can't wait! :yahoo:

I might live in the foothills of a eastern mountain range called the brushy mountains. I will def check out M.ON. I love seeing the purple stuff i didnt see a lot of that during my party daze and every time i did the buzz just wasnt up to par with the kind bud, Since i have sought out this plant as medicine now, i have learned more strains but i need to find one that suits me and my growing environment.:peace:

I hear ya gitter!

Well... GDP is an awesome strain if you are into Couch Lock type highs. I smoke for pain management reasons, so I always go for the Indicas and I've found that so far, all the purple strains I have grown and/or sampled provide just the type of medication I'm looking for.

In terms of a growing environment, I would say that any of the strains developed in Northern California should suit any mountain grow! We live at just under 5000 feet here in the Central Sierra and as long as I get them chopped before the middle of October, I can get the entire crop in without any losses due to frost or excessive rain damage. As I mentioned, we have our first winter storm of the season due in here starting Tuesday night and lasting through Thursday morning, so I am already making preparations for covering and moving my girls under cover.

The Urkles are too big to move, and too hard to cover up on the back hill, so they are going to get rained on. Hopefully the forest canopy will protect them from any seriously heavy downpours. The BBK and GDP are going to either be moved or covered.

In fact, I just checked GDP #1 this morning with my loupe and damn if it isn't looking like its ready to chop in the next couple of days! Definitely a bit early at week 7 tomorrow. I'm going to put a few bud leaves under the scope and snap a few photos with the scope camera and post here later today.

I had a busy day and now I'm like 4 pages behind....Congrats on your win, have fun with your new toy, very sorry for your loss, everything is looking great, excellent update. Think that covers it.....Regarding the "share a toke" idea, I think we should call it "Smoke Pal"
