GG7's Indoor/Outdoor Grows!

No problem GG7! If the nursery don't have it the hydroponic store does. I have never order coco coir from online due to the high cost of shipping, however most online hydro store should carry them. Call up all your local stores and they'll be asking how many do you want? haha.

Hee hee!

Well, if you can keep a secret, I will PM you the details that I sent to MS! ;)

I know its kind of silly to be holding back, but I don't want to make the official announcement until the deal is officialy closed. I don't want to have to retract the whole thing if for some reason it all falls through! That would be embarassing.

Don't do it! Mr. Krip can't keep a secret! He posted his new journal sooner than he wanted to! :morenutes:

You know the more I hear about coco the more I wonder if I could add some of that to my super soil esk mixture I have already... hum probably worth some more research.
I really do like the properties of the one 12 listed.
I mainly use promix for all my growing and I do love it, but I bet this would/could make it better.
Thanks guys!

I have a similar setup to Twelve12, using the botanicare coco coir bricks, mixing a little perlite into it and I have a 1 inch layer of hydroton on top of the pots to reduce moisture loss and prevent the channeling when I water. Works great in a hempy setup. I need to buy some airpots for my next grow and maybe go organic with the BPN line.

Thanks for getting back to us Twelve!

I'm going to head down there this weekend most likely and see if they sell the bricks. If not, I will probably just grab a few new 2.5 cu ft bags of the Black Gold and call it done. I would be buying this for next season primarily cause "most" of my indoor growing plants are already in Air Pots in a 40/35/25 mix of Cocoblend, Hyponex and Happy Frog.

Yo Steve!

Its cool to see everyone getting on the Air Pot train! :thumb:

Before you buy your Air Pots, check with these guys on pricing and tell them that Goldengoose7 sent you!

CalGrowers.com

Contact Christine at: sales@calgrowers.com

As far as I could determine, these guys had the best prices on the pots, AND they told me they would grant the same additional discounts to my friends if they simply mentioned my handle via email. Its not a huge additional discount, but depending on the size of the order, it could add up to a respectable savings. Heck! It makes it cheaper than their published prices, and money is money right? :thumb:

P.S. I'm not getting any kind of kickbacks or anything by referring you guys. I just wanted to try to save everyone some $$ when they order their Air Pots! These guys are an autorized dealer for Superoots and really good people! Fast shipping and everything well packed for the journey! :)

I certainly don't see how it could hurt to add some. It definitely seems to help HOLD everything together when it all gets wet and the plants I grew in 100% Black Gold Cocoblend all turned out great! As I said, the only issue I ran into with conventional pots was during the flowering indoors phase when it is harder to get a good evapotraspiration rate.

It seems like the perfect medium to use with Air Pots. The Air Pot packing video on the Calgrowers site shows the guy packing the pots with what looks a lot like Coco.

Another great place to get discount airpots is at perfectroots with listed availability of size and discounted price, Lari Ann hooks it up.

Looks like some good prices but they appear to be sold out of a lot of the more popular sizes. Do they stock the entire line? What I saw on that page was only about 60% of what is ultimately available from Superoots.

You're right, they don't carry all sizes. The ones listed are more popular sizes. The larger ones, 5gal and 12gal are usually purchased for outdoor grows. The largest for indoor grow that I use is 3gal and that takes up some space. They do have all the sizes for indoor. Not sure if they restock the entire line. From what I understand the site offer what's available at the time, with limited supplies. If anyone interested in the 5 or 12gal shoot them an email requesting the restock date. Savings from this site is what got my business.

I noticed that they didn't have the 4.2 gallon size which is kind of the dividing line between the indoor and outdoor sizes. I too am using the 3.4 gallon the most right now. I bought 6 of the 5.2 for next season outside and am using one of them inside for my BBK mother plant. Put the four GDP mothers into 3.4s and used a 2.4 and a 1.5 for my Northern Lights.

The prices at that place are definitely good. Like I said, that was about the same price I paid from CalGrowers after their discount. What do they charge for shipping?

After looking back a few pages I realize your compliments mean a lot! Seems like you got things on lock man, them outdoor buds are huge! Very nice :) It will take some time to catch up on 40 pages lol

Weekend Update 1
Outdoor Grows • GDP • BBK • Purple Urkle

Our weather up here has been gorgeous this week with temps much higher than normal for late September, but things are definitely feeling like fall in the mornings. Overnight lows are now hovering in the mid 50s, but yesterday we hit a high of nearly 95 degrees!

The latest NWS forecasts are predicting the arrival of our first winter storm of the season by the middle of next week. I'm going to have to get creative in how best to cover the larger plants outside and try to keep them from getting rained on too heavily. The smaller plants can be moved under cover, but the larger ones are just going to have to get wet. I deal with this every year since my usual harvest time for most of these is the second week of October. Our first rains usually come in the first week, and it looks like this year will be no exception.

So lets get started!

GDP Week 7

The overnight lows have reached the "magic" temps where the GDP likes it to start turning purple. GDP #1 and #3 are starting to show purple tinges within the buds and on the edges of the tiny bud leaves. If you recall, GDP #2 started changing color around week 7 but the fan leaves changed first. This time around it is the bud leaves that are turning first.

GDP #1

This plant has nearly fully recovered from her soil issues of a few weeks ago and has been bulking up and frosting up a lot over the last week. She is definitely showing the most purple right now.

GDP #3

GDP #3 was never brought indoors to flower and flowered naturally under the gradually changing natural light cycle. As a result, it is about a week behind GDP #1 in both bud development and color change. Still... You can start to see the distinctive purple/red hues emerging from the bud leaves along with a respectable frosting up!

Blueberry Kush

The various BBK clones are coming along nicely. #3 is putting on the frost now too right along with the smaller single cola clones. The white residue you see on some of the leaves are from my milk/water sprays I have been applying to keep the Powdery Mildew at bay. With the cool nights and a rising humidity, PM is a constant problem with the outdoor crop.

Purple Urkle

Still no sign of any color change from the Urkles, but I expect that we should start seeing it soon if they are going to change. They are at about week 5.5 right now and since these were brought into flower naturally, I am not completely sure where they are in their flowering cycle. Based on the bud density and the amount of frosting, I think week 5 or 6 is about right.

White Rhino Male Seed Update

I have still not unbagged the remaining two White Rhino male flower branches. I did unbag one a week ago and it didn't look ready. The flowers were still green, so I decided to let the other two go longer. Since the leaves on that one branch I unbagged looked nice and healthy I figured that it was safe to let the other two go. I will probably take a look on Sunday and post an update just on that project.

A personal tragedy for our family this week...

This has been a VERY rough week for me personally after we lost a beloved pet cat to the wilds of the forest behind our house. His name was Kimba and he was my little helper out in the garden. It has been extremely difficult to find the motivation to even look at the plants because every where I turn, I am reminded of my special little helper who loved to go with me on my daily rounds out back. I plan to post a tribute to him here in my journal later this weekend. I'm hoping that the 420 staff doesn't ban me for going off-topic and posting a few off-topic pictures of my very special little friend here.

I'm doing it anyway, but I hope it doesn't get me into trouble!

Stay tuned for round #2 when I will focus on the progress of our indoor plants all now safely vegging in our new Air Pots.

Until then... Thanks for reading! :thanks::Namaste:

Hey, GG7! Beautifull pics, as usual, and those GDP buds are just gorgeous! :welldone:

Very sorry to hear about Kimba! My deepest sympathies, as a fellow pet owner/lover!

Hang in there, Bro!

Now that was an UPDATE! very nice indeed! I knew we were a lot a like in fact I have that same exact grill! lol

Those GDPs look so good I think I am visually stoned! LOL - really great job my friend!

So very sorry to here about Kimba, what a tragedy! I sure hope you don't get into any trouble either, it would be a shame.

As always way to go GG7!

:peace: and LOVE to our closet friends!
