GDB's Auto Array

Hello growers.

Had the plants out for watering today so I thought I'd post some solo shots.

Brooklyn Sunrise. At day 72, she has stopped stretching and is now just putting on weight. I'm feeding her 5.5g of Mega Crop and nothing else. In a 5 gallon pot, her tip is 25 inches from soil level.

Black Cream (that could be a Smoothie). At day 37 she seems to be still stretching. I'm feeding her 4.5g of MC and nothing else. In a 2 gallon pot, her tip is 27 inches from soil level. Luckily she is growing straight up and doesn't require a lot of shoulder room. At some point I'd like to bend her outward, but right now I just don't have the room to do it.

Smoothie (that could be a Black Cream). I'm feeding her 4.5 MC and nothing else. In a 2 gallon pot, her tip is 22 inches from soil level. She is spread out (I bent a few stems) and requires more shoulder room than the BC. I'm concerned that things might get too cramped in the tent for her.

My newest baby, the Lemon AK is still in a solo cup at day 7. I haven't watered her to runoff yet. I've just been keeping her soil moist and giving her 2g of MC.

While I was piddling around with the plants above, the baby got knocked over not once, but twice! Good thing her roots have established to the point where she didn't come out of the cup.

Lesson learned. Take the baby out and put her in a safe place when messing with the grown-ups in the tent. I learned a harder lesson 2 days ago. But first a picture of the baby.

Now about Wednesday and the harder lesson I learned. To feed the baby at 2g of MC, I decided to use one of my 16 ounce bottled-water bottles. I put about .2g of MC into the water figuring there was no need to mix an entire gallon. (Part of that reasoning was laziness on my part, too.)

After mixing, I marked the top of the cap with a "2g" and sat it on the floor next to my main chair.

You probably have guessed what happened later on in the day. Yea, I picked it up and drank more than half of it. When I was screwing the top back on the bottle I saw the "2g" on the cap and said, "uh oh."

The first thing I did was to grab the MC bag a start to read the ingredients. That didn't last long because, what the hell, I still didn't know if, say, potassium silicate, could be lethal.

So I then read the fine print on the bag and saw where it said "harmful if swallowed."

So I went and told the Mrs. what I had done and that if I had to be rushed to the hospital for her to bring the MC bag to show to the doctors. She looked at me like I was crazy. :Rasta:

Long story short, I ended up calling the Poison Hotline. They diagnosed my chances over the phone, based on what substance I had ingested, my age, my body weight and, finally, the amount of the substance.

When I told the Poison Pro near the her questions that I had put .2 grams of the MC into 16 ounces of water and drank slightly more than half, I think I heard her chuckle under her breath.

The Poison Pro told me I should be fine because of the small amount, adding that plant fertilizers are not dangerous in such small doses. She said I might get a tummy ache of experience the hershey squirts (my term, not hers).

Lesson learned. I moved the water bottle with the MC away from my chair and next to the tent.

Omg!! Glad you’re ok!! I would’ve probably made myself barf. Good job calling poison control. So how did it taste? Lol, I can only guess by how it smells, bleck!! o_O
What kind of person would ask "how did it taste" after you had damn near killed yourself?

No, seriously, it tasted a little different but nothing too noticeable. Not yucky!

Thanks MsBean. You have a good day, as well.

Hello growers.

Well it's gone slightly off the rails in the auto tent.

Things were getting out of hand. Seems that every plant I was growing got a bit bigger than I expected. They were starting to crowd each other and some parts of plants were shaded by other plants.

I thought that if I left things as they were almost all of them would suffer a penalty.

So last night I moved the autos to my big tent and squeezed my photo into the small tent. (Of course I also switched out the light timers.)

Now the autos have more than enough room. The photo, not so much. :Rasta:

I'm stumbling my way to what will hopefully be a successful conclusion!

You mean everyone doesn't taste GLN's "Sweet Candy" to see if it's really sweet?
(It's not, btw- looks like powdered sugar, but tastes like drywall dust) :)

LOL. Hopefully you didn't taste the drywall dust on purpose too!

Hello growers.

Just a quick update on the autos.

After moving them to my larger tent and bending them out I realize how I was never going to be able to confine these plants to a 2x2 tent. It would not have worked, plain and simple. I will likely change my long term strategy and use the large tent for numerous autos and the small tent for one photo at a time. (But that won't happen until I do a 3-photo grow in the large tent at least once. During that grow I'll have a few autos in the small tent in 1 gallon pots.)

Brooklyn Sunrise is stacking up nicely!

No BS about the BS! She looks amazing! :welldone:
Thanks, MrSauga. She also has the distinction of being the easiest plant I've ever grown. A true "auto." :Rasta:

Hello again!

Just a quick update on my identity crisis.

If you have followed this thread you know that when they were seedlings the labels fell off of my Black Cream and Smoothie pots. Consequently, I don't know which one is which.

At day 42 the plants are providing no help. In fact, the damn near look like twins.

I'm still hoping that at the end the Black Cream will look kinda' black or the Smoothie will look smooth. :laughtwo:

P1030448.JPG

The baby Lemon AK at day 14 looks like she wants more Mega Crop. Her bottom leaves are getting light green. I will up her from 2g to 2.5g.

Let's hope they both don't come out black and smooth 'cuz then 'yer screwed! You'll most likely know by the taste or smell after cure if the flowers don't tell you anything.

According to the seed bank 95% of the BCs have purple flowers. I'll bet I've got one of the 5%. :Rasta:

Hello growers.

Happy Saturday to all! I took all of the plants out for watering and a photo shoot today.

I need to work on my training skills, because two of these autos completely got away from me. They are too leggy, but they still look like they will stack up nicely.

Black Cream.

I think I've finally identified her for what she is, a Black Cream. Her stalks are turning dark purple. She's at day 50 and just had her Mega Crop feed reduced from 5.8g to 5.5g. I think I was moving a little to fast with the MC. She been developing some yellowing leaves so I've been upping the dosage in addition to adding organic CalMag. For today's feeding I decided to dial her back a bit.

P1030486.JPG

Smoothie (day 50).

She's leggy too, but I like what she's doing. I think she'll eventually produce some nice buds. As with the BC, she was getting some yellow in her leaves. So with her too I had been bumping up her MC and adding CalMag. I took her back down to 5.5 today too.

P1030476.JPG

Brooklyn Sunrise (day 86).

My favorite at the moment. She smells like straight jet fuel! She's getting 6g of MC and today I added 1g of Bud Explosion.

The baby, Lemon AK (day 22).

I just up-potted her a few days ago into her 2 gallon home. I'm about to up her MC dose from 2g to 3g. After she settles in I'm going to LST her using the "rock it" science I saw on MrSauga's thread. The little water bottle in this pic is the same one that I drunk about 8 ozs. of MC water from!

P1030473.JPG

That's all that I've got. Aside from those pesky yellow leaves everything seems okay. :Rasta:
