GDB's Auto Array

Hello growers.

A quick update on the babies (Black Cream and Smoothie autos). After being watered to run-off for the first time the other day, they both had a significant growth spurt. I'm always stingy with the water with seedlings, perhaps a little too stingy. :Rasta:

They will both be topped sometime this week.

Hello growers.

My plan for pushing the envelope in my 2x2 tent is coming to pass as best I can can currently pull it off.

I dropped two more auto seeds yesterday, a Northern Lights and a Lemon AK. They both sprouted tap roots in the water this afternoon and were placed in zip lock bags with damp paper towels on a heating mat . By this evening the tap roots were really long and I decided to bury them in Solo cups full of Promix HP.

Into the auto tent they go, along with a Black Cream and a Smoothie in 2 gallon pots (both at day 20), a Caramel Cream in a 2 gallon pot (day 81) and the Brooklyn Sunrise in a 3 gallon pot that's on day 55. The BS is growing like crazy and is going to be a space (and light) hog. The CC should be exiting soon. I hope the solo cupped seedlings, the BC and the Smoothie can survive in the shadows of the BS and and won't get too large before the BS is done.

I think this will work but, I'm a little concerned about the growth rate of either the BC or the Smoothie (I don't know which is which). One of them looks like it might be a quick and hearty grower. So things could get interesting if that happens.

By my basic low-tech math, in 20 days I will have two 40 day plants in 2 gallon pots, one 75 day plant in a 3 gallon and two 20 day plants in solo cups. The CC should be gone before 20 days from now.

If I can get this schedule locked in, hopefully I'll be harvesting a smallish auto every 4-5 weeks for the foreseeable future (though I doubt I'll use anything but 2 gallon pots from this point forward). That's my goal because I've got a slew of auto seeds that I'm trying to get through.

Growing in tight spaces is a fun challenge, especially with autos where you really never know how big they'll get! The 2 gallon pots should keep the sizes down -- should.

Fingers crossed! :Rasta:

Sounds like a good plan, GDB!
I've only ever had 3 in my 2x2, but they were all in 3 gallon pots, so 3 was about the limit- your 2 gallon pots should give you the floorspace you'll need. It'll get a little tight in there, but it should work!

I like tight! :Rasta:

Hiya GDB! Sorry I'm so late. Looks like I missed the launch but I'll catch up quick enough. Loving the look of the Smoothie and the Black Cream :thumb:
You're not late Mr. S. I think I'm gonna make this one of those threads that just keeps going on and on. :Rasta:

My labels fell off of the initial containers for the Smoothie and the Black Cream, so I don't know which is which. Which reminds me, if I remember correctly @Sunnyskies has grown both of these strains. Which one is which Sunny?

But thanks for the kind words, they do look like two pretty happy young'uns. Thanks for stopping by!

Aloha GDB!

If I had to pick out the black cream from yours I’d say the one on the left or the bigger one. Here was my black cream at 21 days after she got topped. I haven’t grown out the smoothie from Fastbuds but it sounds good!

That's a lot of growth for 21 days! I must be doing something wrong. :Rasta:

Not that I can see! I think you are doing great my Braddah. Just keep tinkering with your set up and you will find the sweet spot! I start mine in 3 gallon pots and have my ts-1000 at 100% from germination to finish. I don’t adjust my light distance from the plants up or down either. The lights are fixed at 30” from the top of the pots and that’s where they stay the whole grow. I don’t know why but those adjustable hangers that come with the lights work my last nerve.. not sure if it’s the sound or just the over all irritation I get dealing with them

Thanks, Sunny. But I'm beginning to think that I'm too stingy with water when they are babies. I give them very little for the first 13 days or so. They might need just a little bit more. :Rasta:

Hello growers.

A quick update on the Brooklyn Sunrise.

I took her out and gave her a good bending today. I was able to open her up a bit and will continue moderate bends over the next week or so. She is on day 57. I upped her MC dosage from 4 to 4.5 when I fed her today. She likes the MC dosage, has a nice color and has only dropped 2 leaves to date.

Her buds are forming and starting to stack.

She has been such a stress-free, pleasure to grow (knock on wood). :Rasta:

The Caramel Cream is on day 84 and I'm feeding her 5.8g MC, 1g Sweet Candy and 1g of Bud Explosion. I'm going to increase the MC to 6.3 on her next feed.

Her trichs are mostly cloudy, but she just doesn't seem that frosty. I want more frost! :Rasta:

I topped the Black Cream and Smothie, both at node 4. At day 22 they're being fed 2g of MC.

The Lemon AK and Northern lights are still hiding beneath the ground in their Solo cups. I hope to see them soon.

Later.

Plants look great GDB... and free shipping at DealDash! What a perfect day :)
So glad I wasn't watching "Debbie Does Dallas."

Fuck it I’ll ask.. what’s Debbie doing in Dallas? :hmmmm:

It was a porno movie from the 70's, Sunny! Don't act like you don't know. She was doing the whole football team.

Oh I know!  I just couldn’t help it and had to ask!:rofl:

Hello growers.

A quick update.

The Black Cream and Smoothie (both day 25) look happy, but one of them is stretching up like crazy. She doesn't know it, but if she grows too large too soon and has to compete for space/light with the Brooklyn Sunrise, she will lose.

P1030369.JPG

I've got a new baby. The Lemon AK popped up a few days ago. Still no sight of the Northern Lights.

P1030368.JPG

The Brooklyn Sunrise continues to impress with her vigorous growth. She's starting to stack flowers now at day 60. I've got her MC dose up to 5g with no supplements.

The Caramel Cream (day 87) is full of cloudy trichs but no amber yet, and she's not as frosty as I would like. However, she'll be coming down within, say, 10 days no matter what. (No pic today.)

That's it.

Stay safe out there. And for those of us in the U.S., try to keep your alcohol consumption in check. :Rasta:

Looking good, GDB - !
The little sprout looks great- It's got a nice, fat stem...I don't know if that really matters, but that's how I like them to look..nice n healthy!

Hello growers.

No real update today, just an observation.

Several times on this thread I have complained about my runt of a Caramel Cream plant. Specifically, I complained that this runt was in a 3 gallon pot and could have easily achieved its size in a 2gal of maybe even a 1gal. At the time I stated that I didn't mind growing small plants as long as they were in small pots.

Here's a pic that bears witness to my stance. In the middle the runt CC at day 95 in its 3 gallon pot. On each side, my babies (Black Cream and Smoothie (both day 29) and both in 2 gallon pots.

That's it. Just wanted to bang on the runt...again. :Rasta:

I think I’m guilty of the same thing GDB, once I started really dousing my DDA, it started putting out some growth. Could coincidentally have been stretch making it happen, maybe both? Either way, I’m not holding back on the next ones. Everything is looking great in here GDB, I like your plans for perpetual autos. :thumb:
