Hello growers.
My plan for pushing the envelope in my 2x2 tent is coming to pass as best I can can currently pull it off.
I dropped two more auto seeds yesterday, a Northern Lights and a Lemon AK. They both sprouted tap roots in the water this afternoon and were placed in zip lock bags with damp paper towels on a heating mat . By this evening the tap roots were really long and I decided to bury them in Solo cups full of Promix HP.
Into the auto tent they go, along with a Black Cream and a Smoothie in 2 gallon pots (both at day 20), a Caramel Cream in a 2 gallon pot (day 81) and the Brooklyn Sunrise in a 3 gallon pot that's on day 55. The BS is growing like crazy and is going to be a space (and light) hog. The CC should be exiting soon. I hope the solo cupped seedlings, the BC and the Smoothie can survive in the shadows of the BS and and won't get too large before the BS is done.
I think this will work but, I'm a little concerned about the growth rate of either the BC or the Smoothie (I don't know which is which). One of them looks like it might be a quick and hearty grower. So things could get interesting if that happens.
By my basic low-tech math, in 20 days I will have two 40 day plants in 2 gallon pots, one 75 day plant in a 3 gallon and two 20 day plants in solo cups. The CC should be gone before 20 days from now.
If I can get this schedule locked in, hopefully I'll be harvesting a smallish auto every 4-5 weeks for the foreseeable future (though I doubt I'll use anything but 2 gallon pots from this point forward). That's my goal because I've got a slew of auto seeds that I'm trying to get through.
Growing in tight spaces is a fun challenge, especially with autos where you really never know how big they'll get! The 2 gallon pots should keep the sizes down -- should.
Fingers crossed!
