Good morning growers!
So I made it up to LB's place yesterday and got to visit the remote Cosmic Lights! It's my first time back to see her since she was left there on May 16th.
The first thing that stood out to me was how she really has not grown very much at all. She nearly looks the same size as the day we first buried her.
This was her then:
And now:
I suppose she has bulked up a little bit but I was expecting more height.
She has some leaf discoloration that looks a lot like a calmag deficiency to these old eyes. Are calmag issues typical for outdoor grows?
The little pistils are still present but they don't appear to be doing much growing and they remain white. I think I see signs that she's in a state of reveg. It looks like she's producing some single-pronged leaves. At least that's what I think I'm seeing but I'm not certain.
I'm posting this pic so you can see the goofy balloon guy that LB has in his yard. (That yellow thing off to the left.)
That area I've circled in red is LB's koi pond and the predator birds are back! He has a hawk and a crane that visit trying to get to his fish. The goofy balloon is there to try to keep the birds at bay. He also has a full sized female mannequin that he periodically stands out there (she's scary looking). And lastly, he has a speaker wired up out there on which is says he'll sometimes loudly play a talk radio station.
I get such a kick out of this descriptions of his battles with nature! The moles are back too and he now has a family of groundhogs living under his tool shed! He said he pisses around the perimeter of the shed daily in an attempt to drive them off. He even has big 24 ounce cups of piss in reserve to pour around the structure on a regular basis. And the moles, well that battle has been ongoing for years! He told me he recently connected a hose to the exhaust pipe on his truck, started the truck and then stuck the other end of the hose down the entrance to a mole tunnel.
It's like knowing a real-life Elmer Fudd!
Anyhow, I always get some good laughs listening to his war stories. He truly loves his garden. When I got there he was busy spreading mulch -- and a lot of it!
Here she hides in plain site:
LB has been watering her twice daily. He gives her a heavy watering in the morning and a lighter one near dark.
So it's pretty much just wait and see for the CL.
I'd appreciate any input about the leaf discoloration and how to mitigate!

Back on the homefront, the Blue Cindy is the last New Trick girl standing. Her leaves were so decimated from application of that damn bloom booster that I've removed nearly all of them. A few days back I thought she had stopped drinking but what she did was really slow down -- a lot. It took her over the last three days to drain her reservoir from only being half full. So I'll say she's been in a semi-droughted state for the last few days.
By yesterday her coco was very dry and hard. I busted up the top with a small gardening tool and gave her a good drink from the top and also poured about 1/3 of a gallon in her reservoir. Before watering her I added some wetting agent (mostly yucca and aloe) to the water and pHed to 5.8.
I've got a good feeling about this plant, despite her somewhat off-putting appearance. I thinks she's got the potential to be a nice one.
I scoped her and she's getting close:
And of course, I took a tester:

That's todays (actually yesterday's) goings ons!
Thanks for looking in and happy growing.
