GDB: Old Dog -- New Tricks

Hello all.

The coin toss I mentioned in my last post resulted in me starting a new journal.

If you're interested, it starts HERE.

There's not much to see there yet, but stop by and say hello if you're so inclined! :Rasta:

Hello all.

I'm not quite done here yet!

I'm just bagging up the Fat Kid's Cake#1 for curing. The fat-budded one spent more than 3 weeks in the fridge just to get close to dry. I took her out after, I believe, 23 days -- partly out of impatience, partly because I was tired of them being in the way. I put the whole stash in a large slow-cooker liner bag at 69% RH and over the next 4-5 days burped it down to 61. Ambient humidity in the room where I was leaving it open was about 51 percent.

I said here before that my fridge drying method is not an "exact" science. This was a prime example. The buds on the FKC were fatties and would have taken even longer to fridge dry had I not decided to remove them.

I forgot to get the dry wet but it's got to be in the neighborhood of 4+ ozs. Whatever it is, it's enough for me!

The prizes from my recent contest wins are beginning to trickle in. Thus far, I've received the prizes from 420 seed sponsors Herbie's, Rocket, Original Sensible, The Vault and Royal Queen.

I am eternally grateful to these sponsors, 420 Magazine staff and of course 420 members!

Here's a photo bomb of what's arrived so far:

Herbies Seeds -- stealth to the end -- sent "1" (Gelato auto), "2" (Mimosa Shot) and "3" (Godzilla Glue). 😎

Original Sensible Seeds sent some rolling papers and plant markers with their Pink Rozay, Pellezino Cookies and Alien Moonrocks. And, they sent 7 of each when they were only committed to send 5 each! 👍

Royal Queen Seeds sent their Orion F1 auto in one of the little hard bubble domes that make me nervous. :)

The Vault sent OG Kush and it arrived on the same day as my free bag of Megacrop (another sponsored product) so I decided to shoot them together.

And last, Rocket sent a box!

Inside Durbin Poison, Blood Diamond, Hash Plant and a few other goodies!

That little rolling tray is cool. Not only does it light up, as I hope you can see, but you can change the color of the lights and you can make it blink while cycling through all the colors. Fun in the dark!

I even got 2 Rocket balloons! I'm not sure how they fit in. Is there a balloon-related way to make hash or something that I don't know about? :)

Thanks for returning!

Nice BOB (bag o' buds)
I'm going to have to try that refrigeration method with one of my soon to finish plants, thanks for showing us that.

Those prizes are awesome. Nice clear photos too! The Rocket Seeds rolling tray is cute and what a nice accessory package to send.
I've grown Durban Poison in the past, I'll be waiting to see your results when you're ready.

The balloons are to gift an unknown recipient. Use fishing line to tie a small bud to them and send them up into the air. Inside the balloon you put a note with the strain and tell them to enjoy!

Mouth watering buds GDB! Awesome big winnings too! Have fun with all of it! I'll watch the wind and let you know when to let the balloon free! Put an apple tracker on it and it'll be a charm to locate! We're only 500 miles apart, you can probably hit somewhere over my yard and I'll shoot it down with my pellet gun!

Hello grow gang!

I've been a little busy lately so I have some old news to report. This past Friday I took down the last of the Phase II plants -- the Fat Kid's Cake#1.

She had reached Flip 100 and crawled to the finish line as if completing a demolition derby! Here's her Obit pic:

A silhouette pic:

When released, flopping ensued:

Here's her array of cleaned up buddage. She came in a 496g wet (with stems).

Just like the first FKC, this one had very little frost to offer. Her big fat, firm buds are mostly frost-free. That doesn't bode well for her quality, IMO. She felt slightly sticky when I was taking her down and had a fairly nice aroma, but I remain skeptical. Time will tell.

------------------------------

At this point I will happily quote @MedScientist and say, "Woo Hoo!"

I am so glad to be done with this grow! The Lemon Bubble & the Hash Lover from Phase I were winners. But the Blue Cindy was a dud. And in Phase II the FKCs may well be duds, as well, with the little Godberry stealing the show from her larger tent mates.

Anyway, live and learn (and continue to burn). :Rasta:

It's time to start gearing up for the next round. Another episode of "Seed to Weed" is coming soon to a screen near you!

Thanks for your time.

PEACE
Congrats on the chop GDB another successful flop, some good looking bud & i'll bet it'll be some good smoke
