Fun In The Sun 2016 - Tiger - Ape - Pitbull - Gorilla & More - Run Wild

Hello Major and friends.

I've been following off and on since I joined. Realized I hadn't said hi yet, which explains why your journal wasn't showing up on my sub list. Meant to post earlier but kept getting distracted by all the other great posts and links! I get to thinking and surfing and more thinking and have hard time actually posting.

I'll be thinking about ventilation solutions for tenting your sativas. Hate to see such beauty go to waste! BTW- how long of an extension cord do you have? :laughtwo: Keeping options open. :Namaste:

Well crap!

A couple of weeks ago I noticed a hole near the center of the garden. I looked around and didn't see any damage. I put dirt in the hole and then a rock over the top. No activity since.

Recently I noticed GG4 has once branch hanging low and another that looks a little wilted at times even though the rest of the plant looks great. Today the low branch looked worse so I got way in under the plant. Low and behold, the bottom of the branch had been gnawed about half way through. Other branches and the main stalk were also chewed on.

Then I took a hard look at all the plants and found that the little varmint had sampled three of the five. The only one to have serious damage is GG4. All the scars are dry and healed, so I don't think it has been back. How unobservant can one farmer be? I was too focused on the rust on ZD(+), I guess.

In my case it is very likely a ground squirrel. I went over every inch of the ground and all around the perimeter but see no evidence of recent activity. Oh well. A setback that will make for a lopsided Gorilla and a reduced yield, but it could have been much worse. Grrrr...

lmao...My Mom's outdoor raised beds were accosted by the resident marauding woodchuck. He wrecked 2/3 of their veggie garden despite the fencing and semi-vigilant dogs. Granted they're just pugs, but they THINK they're ferocious. They don't have it in them to dispatch him though as they know it's a family, and well, they're hippies.

Who's responsible for security on the PITA compound ffs?

We have red and gray squirrels and chipmunks that like to dig up our perennial bulbs...a rat trap baited with peanut butter is an excellent deterrent!...lolool...or get duggan's northern security to drop by with a good quality pellet gun...lolool...cheerz...h00k...

Red squirrels aren't allowed to live in my neighborhood. They just NEVER behave themselves, cocky little aholes that they are, chasing the grays and barking all the time. I have a nice little pellet gun with dozens of notches on it. :cheesygrinsmiley: It's a bit small but usually gets the job done. LOL, I once bounced a pellet off one's forehead and he wore that red scar around for another day or two until I caught him a second time. He was easier to nail - kinda dull-witted.

I would be out there with Night vision and my pellet rifle looking for red eyed rodents with fat bellies!

LOLOOL...pellet gun is my preferred method as well,,,butt...if I'm busy...the traps do pretty good...cheerz...h00k...

Red squirrel huntin' be righteous!

And fun!

Ya eh!!! OK Major , i need you to switch the servos on for the remote BBgun Mounts. As discussed at their placement, they will only fire from the pressure sensors and the IR camera triggers OK. The fps is set to 1000 to dispatch quickly with no pain! You'll not need to worry about reloading ...they are fed from 5000 rnd hoppers. Ya , i know they look a little big and intimidating ...but , but. anyhow gotta book....cheers bud!:high-five:

:rofl::rofl:

All set!
Servos engaged and flux capacitor at full power.

We are headed over to the coast for a couple of days so no update this week. I'm watering well again this morning 'cuz we are going to be over 100F for the next couple of days. I think the plants in the ground will be OK (unless Squirrel returns), but the two in the soft pots are sure to suffer a little. Can't be helped. See ya all on the flip side...

I thought i'd pop in to see how your are getting on with the little nutrient def problem to which you have suffered with recently Major.

Looked back a few pages to see what was mentioned & seems a majority favour K - potassium problem.

Well it has been a good few days since then so i'll expect 1 or 2 results either getting better with no further spread or getting worse, so how is she doing ?

Yep not exactly a walk in the park... although I keep reading everywhere how it's easy to just put a plant out there and let her do her thing
