Fun In The Sun 2016 - Tiger - Ape - Pitbull - Gorilla & More - Run Wild

Very nice show, I'm loving the GG, mine started flowering Tuesday. But yours are much larger. Congrats on MoTM, you the man. It's nice to see people I know win.

Cheers

Wow Major, those are some damned good readings!

I'm not surprised they were high because those leaves are amazing, even from an outdoor plant! The shine must be interesting to see in person, with all that sunlight reflecting off them! Color is gorgeous, posture is gorgeous ...

We haven't had a lot of Brix readings from outdoor plants. I wonder if they read a little higher. I don't suppose these leaves were taken at sunrise or sunset ... during the day there might be heat/light/humidity effects.
Thanks, man! I wish I had your pruning/training skills. I know they'd look better if I did.
I'm pretty sure the sun has a lot to do with it. I've never used this soil indoors, and I've not gotten these readings before, in or out.

I try to be consistent with my technique. I usually take the leaves off around noon and not on a watering day. Since I water every other day, I did it yesterday or I'd have to wait until Saturday. I was a bit later than usual. It was about 1:00pm. Temp' then was 85F and RH was about 40% (of course, no control over this from reading to reading).

I can confidently say they look different to me my mate! they look awesome :) So fkn beautiful man :high-five:
Thank you Sir! :high-five:

Thanks you so much!
I'm looking forward to some budlettes forming. I'm seeing new pistils and calyx development. It appears AoS will bud first with GG4 close behind. :yahoo:

After I posted yesterday, I went back down to the garden, and low and behold, my neighbors did pull the hermie!!! Now they just have a nice looking female. I'm sure there are plenty of seeds on the ground, and it is possible the pollen has already done its thing, but they did do the right thing once I explained the situation. Good on them!

I was thinking about all the trimming. It will be a JOB, but not as bad as it looks. At least it will be spread out over many weeks. GASS should be done first, followed by AS. I expect GG4 to be right behind them. Then LH will be ready. After that GT(+) and finally ZD(+). I doubt these last two Sativas will finish the journey. I'm thinking November at the earliest. Our weather isn't going to cooperate with buds that time of year. The average high temp here is only 53 with a low of 29. We also typically get 3" of rain in November. I'll probably have to write both of them off. :(

You guys ROCK!

That is great news about the neighbor at least the rest of the season won't be a worry but they added a new stop when you make the rounds.

Good on them indeed! :thumb:

Too bad man, but if nothing else, you'll get to see them grow and see how they do in your soil for a couple months. ;)

Can you erect a visqueen tent over them to give them another week or two? The visqueen will hold in the heat and might get you closer to harvest.

I might try something like that. I did last year. It depends on how tall they get. ZD is already at 7'. If it gets up to something like 9'-10', I'll have a tough time tenting her - especially if I want air flow. I could just throw something over the top but trying to support it would be a challenge. We'l see how they grow. I'll likely harvest them early. Our weather is anything but "average". We might have decent temp's and no rain, or it could turn into a real mess even earlier. :thedoubletake:

That's Oregon for you. Granted it has happened only once in my 44 years of living in this tourist trap/recreation mecca......but it snowed 2 inches on Fourth of July back in the day. :surf::xmas:

Have a great weekend gang.

Wow!
I don't think we've had snow in July on this side of the Cascades. Whacky! :loopy:

Mornin my brotha Major....how's all on this fine Sat . morning pal? Ya with your "five"...I told ya you were gonna need a bigger ladder...didn't i , eh,...eh...!As far as fall protection...i'm comfortable with it cuz ...i know....if you have to build a house around your girls....you will....it's just the "Major" i've come to know and love!:Namaste::high-five:

I'd give it the old college try, but... :yikes:

HELP!
Hey guys, I could use some more eyes and ideas.

ZD(+), just in the last two weeks, has developed rust spots that spread to the leaf margins. This is the only plant showing this problem even though all are in identical soil. It started on a single branch about midway up - not the old leaves and not the new leaves. It has since spread to other branches and is also spreading both up and down the affected branches. Other parts of her still look perfect, but I'm thinking that won't be the case in another week or two.

So far, I tried some Cal-Mag. After waiting nearly a week and seeing the problem spread I gave her some bottled water soluble nute's with 'P' and 'K'. I used bottled stuff thinking it would be quicker to act and easier to flush, if needed. Since then, I've given water only since the nute's aren't helping. I'm not great at reading nute deficiencies, but what I see appears to be calcium, magnesium, or possibly manganese or potassium deficiencies.

Any ideas?

:thanks:

It looks Potassium deficient to me.

How much P and K did you add in bottled form? I would think it would take a lot of bottle nutes to stop a deficiency in an outdoor plant of this size.

When I see this, I usually assume its a micronute deficiency (since I use recycled soil often), as in one of the trace metals is not sufficient in high enough amounts, but its hard for me to exactly diagnose which one. So I feed with a "hodge-podge" - which is the Doggett & Simpson Growology Step 2 if its in vegetation or Step 3 if its in bloom, in emergencies. Something that has the ability to deliver the trace metals in the proper ratios quickly to the plant, fast action. Plus, it's kinda hard to treat for 1 individual metal. Just saying that's what I do, it's not organic by any means, but it has dug me out of some "fussy" situations.

Hope your lady stabilizes mate :goodluck: :Namaste:

I agree, it looks most like Potassium or Calcium to me.
I twice used 4 teaspoons of GH Flora Bloom (0-5-4). This was with 6 gallons of water each time.
If 'K' shortage is the consensus, I have plenty of wood ash I could top dress around her. It is quick and full of 'K'. It might raise PH slightly, but no biggie. The GH Bloom addition didn't seem to help at all but might have been too little. I hoped it would give me an indication. What is weird is GT is a close relative and it has none of this.
Thanks!!

Thank you, Lester!
What I have immediately available for micro nute's is GH Micro. It has calcium, boron, cobalt, copper, iron, manganese, molybdenum, and zinc in good proportions. The only problem for this plant is, it also has a fair amount of 'N' and this plant already has about all it can handle. I'll see what else I can source locally.

If you have plenty of Tea, that might help, too ... :hmmmm: ...

Really?
I do have some. But since I don't know what's in it, I have no idea how to use it outside of the "Kit" instructions.

It's mostly microbes, beneficials. :slide: They should be able to adapt to most soils ...
