First time grower

looking at it that way i get back (in my runoff ) about 90% of the water i add. all my plants have about 25 to 30 % moisture content, been that way since i started, i figured that was normal.
If you measured it and your getting 90% back out of what you put in then you could increase the time between waterings.

hi everybody, everythings going good so far ( i think) 9 days into flowering and this is what my plants look like, tent temp is running about 78 , humidity 60%, ppfd 600, runoff ec .49, been adding nutrients (ec .90) every 3 days, 3 oz's per plant, any suggestions? would be greatly appreciated, thanks george

i am using vivosun parts a and b, but am adding extra part b to mix, because it has less nitrogen, and more phosphorus and potassium
Yeah, that's usually the idea, bumping up P and K at the expense of N. They still need N in flower, but not as much especially later and definitely need more P and K after flip.

Are you following the schedule that Vivosun has for the two parts? It kind of looks like the recommendation is to maintain the Nitrogen amounts and increase the phosphorous and potassium when flowering starts with some room for the grower to adjust depending on what the plant seems to need.

i didnt elaborate in my answer, yes i.m following vivosun's recommendations on the nutrients mixing a and b together in a gallon of water, but on my own decided to also mix up a solution of just part b ( in a gallon of water ) because it has less nitrogen and has phosphorous and potassium because most of the recommendations on the internet about what flowering needs the plants needs about extra phosphorous, potassium, and im using both at the same time. does that make any sense? LOL, i researched what nutrients were available to purchase on the internet that was made specifically to add more of phosphorous and potassium for the flowering stage and besides costing $30, they also had a bunch of unneeded stuff. so i decided to try and use what i already have. do you think what im doing is alright or am i screwing up? please let me know. thanks george

hi, i was thinking about nutrients ( i think im getting burnout on research LOL) my plants seem to be doing ok, but i was wondering if maybe there might be something better than the vivosun im using. does anybody have any suggestions? i would really appreciate to hear from somebody that has more experience than me. ( i know, everybody has more experience than me ROTFL ) thanks george

I understand what you are trying to do. I do not agree with reducing the amounts of nitrogen when it appears to be the nutrient that these plants need during their flowering stage.

I rarely will add more phosphorous than what is already in the fertilizer products that I am using. I do add more nitrogen by giving a feeding of a liquid fish product two or three times during the flowering stage. And, a liquid seaweed product will be used two or three times for adding a bit more potassium.

Surely on the Vivosun direction they will still use A&B plus some bloom booster. I would say get that and keep following their directions so you dont waste what you've already bought. I switched over to general hydroponics maxi series as it's just a few scoops of powder into your water 👍 got fed up with all the bottles.

Where on the plant did you pluck those from? Are you adding calmag to your water before nutrients? If so how much?

in several different spots mostly between half way and the top, and i didnt get the calmag ( couldnt find where to get it)i got some stuff from vivosun for flowering , part a is 4-0-1 and part b is 1-4-2, thanks george
They sell it everywhere.. I would pop to the local hydro store tomorrow and buy one. Shogun would be best from the shops but can get a cheaper one if you want to.. I order mine online as they have better for the same price but as you can see time is against you.. double check your PH and EC are in check but without calmag you'll waste your time growing.

Worst case switch to tap water and see if that helps.

What do you see going wrong.

There is a good chance that what one of us sees is not what you are seeing. Tell us what you see and take a photo showing the whole plant so that the group can get a better idea of what is going on overall.

...and i didnt get the calmag ( couldnt find where to get it)...
Any grow shop, hydroponic store, and even a half-way decent general gardening store will have something, either powder or liquid. Do a web search using the key words below and put in the name of your town where the ??? are....
hydroponic stores near ???

I will even do a search like that here in the Detroit metro area just to see if something new opened up within 10 miles or so.

If you live out in the country or rural area then check with farmers co-ops, etc.

everyday some of the leaves have this discoloration on them , brown spots, just the one plant, all the others are fine, its the biggest of my plants, and im checking moisture everyday, (20 %), ec is really low, .06 at the top of the bucket and .03 near the bottom. ive added nutrients every other day and cant seem to get a higher number, nutrient ec is 1.45 and i add 10 ozs . worried about adding to much, tent temp is in the middle 70's and humidity is around 55%, light intensity around 500 ppfd,
