Im sure the buyers remorse hit as soon as you opened the box!

Your in the right place to get that light working better than advertised...? Maybe lol

Anyway hope this build works out for you jimmy and fan will make sure of it im sure

Thanks lootz, buyers remorse probably should have hit me as soon as i opened the box, but they actually look pretty nice. It was 4/5 days after they were over my plants and they didnt grow a single cm, after growing well previously, and even that was under a mars reflector led, which are probably no good either, or should i say not as good as HPS or Vero's/Cree's.

You'll be good. My only concern as mentioned before are the drivers. I melted a few Chinese drivers. But the case, heatsinks, switches (if any) should all be pretty solid. Fanleaf does conversions all the time. He swears by them.

I almost chose mars some people get great sresults from them.

The pricepoint was even more appealing until eventually i read through enough of the matrix here and numbers dont lie

So true. Plus...if you want professional results you need professional equipment. Blurple lights are great for a few plants, but what if you grow 20 plants?

I only grow a few plants and i still chose cobs.
When you start understanding the science behind what ANY light blurple hps mh cfl or cob is doing and then you see the capabilities of those lights you start to see that cobs are the only answer.

Less power more usuable light than a light with twice the power what else do you need ya know? Lol everything else is a bonus

Plus you're doing the environment and the children of the future a service. No mercury. No lead. No (insert other hazardous material).
COBs are better across the board. And with both Cree and Bridgelux using clean technology in both their US plants you're helping to assure North American jobs and a drastic reduction in pollution compared to incandescent lighting.

Global warming doesn't exist, just ask trump. They rolled back epa, now you can dump sewage into lakes and streams. Whoever voted for him needs there ass kicked
 
Finally ordered the 29's and the thermal pads, they didnt have pads for the 29's in stock so i got the 18 pads.
Thanks very very much for all ur help JimmyJames, really apreciated, would never have even got close to doing this without ur help.

Will keep you updated on how things are goin and let you know when they arrive.

Sweet. Here's a vid on the D series. You should get about the same with the c series and the existing drivers...you'd get almost twice my test results with a Meanwell driver. I'll do a C-Series test in a few weeks on the HLG-185h-c1400

I have some mars 144/5w. Wonder how modifying to cobs would work out. 3 cobs per running less efficient because it already has fans. Might just need the cobs and a new driver for the cobs. Anyone have any links of ppl modifying any reflector series mars?? They do work tho!! I just pulled almost 12z out of a 3x3 only half full running 2 mars 144/5w. Not to bad, but the blurple light is....... Annoying lol. Peace!!

Keep the mars till the diodes go. Then upgrade it.
