Fanleaf's Huge 42 COB Array Build Plus Other Builds

Sorry i thought i had a multimeter buts its just a energy monitor/plug timer, and the readings dont seem accurate, it is saying 230.3 v, but i have tested it with other plugs and it is saying the same thing.

Sorry bout all the messing around, i will either buy a multimeter tomorrow or might just buy a proper driver to power the 2 chips, which i probably should have done in the beginning. What driver would you suggest to run the 2 chips ?

Use the HLG-185h-C1400B. For 100w per cob if your heatsinks are big enough.
Buy a 100k linear potentiometer. Drill a hole in the case to fit the pot.
That will give you 200w dimmable actual watts over 2 COBs. You'll want to run it at 50% dimmed for veg though.

Thank you, i will order the driver and potentionmeter now and will keep you up to date when they arrive. Thanks again Jimmy. Do you think it might be better to scrap the crappy light diy job and start from the beginning and build a light from scratch. It might cost a bit more but this cheap light has just been a headache from the start. I wanted to convert this light into a better one only to get the experience to be able to build a proper light.

You may want to run those cool then. Use the HLG-120h-c1050B
Driver then. It will give you 70w per COB but still put out 24,000 lumens over the two COBs. Still dimmable.

How much would 2 heatsinks cost me to be able to run the chips at full power with the 200w driver ?
You'll need two 133mm SST fin pin heatsinks. See what Robin at Northern Growlights will ship them for. If it's too much I can part with 2 for $25 Canadian each. Shipping from Canada to U.K. Is usually cheaper here than in the US.

They sell heatsinks in the UK for the Vero 29's, but they are different to the ones you suggest: Heatsink; Bridgelux Vero 29; Application: NX2001; Ø117.5x42mm (if you google that, the first suggestions that come up on google are from Amazon, and from a site called - mercateo.co.uk

Mercateo seems to be cheaper than amazon.

Thank you for being willing to help so much as to send me them yourself, would be a bit easier if i could get them from the UK, but very grateful for your kind offer.

That's for a "synjet fan".

Mechtronix is good.
You gonna run them at 75w or 100w each?

Errr your asking a complete noob here, but i would like to run them as bright as they can possibly be, but really right now i dont mind only using 75w as long as i finally get a proper COB hanging over my plants il be happy.

Two heatsinks shipped to you is £40
two heat sinks, mounting rail, potentiometer, screws, 2x cob holders and 2x ledil Angelina reflectors would be £50

The assembled kit looks like this. You just paint it (not mandatory) and provide the heatsink and COBs. Does not include the dimmer case.
