Equanimity's First Grow - Lemon Kush - Canna Coco - CFL

What kind of soil are you using? What is your light cycle I would leave them on 24/7 for a while. not a big fan about using cfl but I do know it works. I would deffinetly transplant.

it died in the night, I'm just going to chuck it and not grow anything else in there until i can prepare it better. the rest of the girls are fine though.

You should still water it even if you think it is dead because it might not be. Ive had 3 plants before tat I thought were dead come back after 2 or 3 days of taking care of it as if it were still alive. Dont know if that is your case but it couldnt hurt.

i kept a watch on it for a coupla days after (finally threw it this morning), it had gone entirely white, flopped over and started to shrivel. Like i said, jt was a free seed so i don't mind. What's important is what i learned from it; about what things i can cut corners on in a grow area and what are essential. how and why mould appears, methods i can use to get rid of it, and things i know won't work lol

Hmm ok well tell me what you learnt. It may help out some people.

i can't get away with not having at least one fan and exchanging large amounts of air at all times.

hydrogen peroxide is no good, yeah it kills mould but it does the plant no favours.

Neem oil doesn't get rid of mould.

Next time I'll make sure I've got perlite in my coir.

Seems to be a valuable experience then. Fan circulation is good because the air motion will cause little breaks in the stem that are repaired very fast. When the plant repairs it reinforces strength which leads to higher yields. Also the fan helps with co2 replenishment and temp control.

Hydrogen peroxide helps prevent mold and fungus attacking the plant but it kills beneficial microorganisms in organic soil. I use hydrogen peroxide the first 2 waterings and thats it for the whole plants life.

Neem oil is for pests. It takes multiple applications but it does work. It sucks trying to get the stuff off your leaves once the pests are gone. I got homemade pest remedies in my blog. Neem oil is for whiteflies, aphids, thrips, spidermites, springtails.

Perlite is used because it has great drainage properties and is ph neutral. Perlite also is utilized by the roots to help keep the rootball intact.

Keep learning this is a fun process. Lot of work but the rewards far outweigh the work.

they're a little tiny bit bigger but nothing to write home about, I'm waiting for a bit more growth before i put anything on here

Yeah I tried to wait 1 week between photo shoots but people demanded them like almost everyday. It was fun. More pictures more people if that is what you would like . Hope your day is going well.

Day 28

So here's some more pics of the girls

They seem ok, however the bottom pic there, which until now has been the strongest plant, is starting to look a little depressed

Here's another angle on that:

I'm not sure why that's happened; the only thing i can think of is having moved it closer to the lights; though this behaviour was starting before i moved it closer to the lights.

They're on their third feed since life; first with nutes was administered last night (12 hours ago); this drooping started before the feed (around 2 days ago)

In my hand the leaves feel ok, they're furry to the touch (in the normal way, not in a mouldy way); they smell right and don't seem dry or brittle. There are no pests from what i can see (sometimes i'll stare into the pots for several minutes looking for movement, i also check under the leaves)

One thing i have noticed is that the nodes are coming in ridiculously close to each other; i had feared growing with CFLs would give me a lot of stretch but i'm seeing the extreme opposite here.

any ideas?

Out of curiosity what are you using for nutrients?

Yours need food. Coco can not be treated like soil and they need to be fed every watering.

I currently have them on Canna Coco A+B; 1ML of A and 1ML of B dissolved into 1200ML PH'd water which is split between two plants, this mix is made twice to cover the four plants.

I'm being conservative with nutes to avoid nutrient burn at this early stage.

Should i increase administration?
