Equanimity's First Grow - Lemon Kush - Canna Coco - CFL

My plants listen to coalchamber, disturbed, godsmack and lots of classical

I start the seeds in the final container. I start about 9 in the bucket and when they are about a week or 2 old I will move them to their own separate bucket

Cynical is correct. You plant the fat part of the seed down. The rounded part not the pointy part. But if you plant them the wrong way the taproot adjusts it will hook around so that its positioned to burrow while the cotlydeons are focused to sprout upright. You will also notice when you move around your plants after a few hours the leaves will be facing the light. Thats why it isnt to good to have the lights to far from the plant canopy because it will cause the stem to elongate and stretch for that light. The goal is short and wide especially with space constraints this should be the case. The cfl may burn a leaf here and there if it is touching the leaf but the plant will actually grow new growth around the light so it will position the new leaf within the distance it is comfortable with.

I have to leave soon so last thing I will say for now is dont release spiders into your grow room. If you have bug problems later on you can get ladybugs in there or get beneficial nematodes that will attack and kill over 100 different pest types and wont be a nuisance to you as ladybugs will be and they arent harmful to people or pets. Ok let me jump forward to the current page so I can see what the problem is.

Neem oil wont kill mold at all that im aware of. Neem oil is a good organic way to kill bugs after several applications though. Remove the moldy soil. Get a dehumidifier because where you are growing has tons of moisture in the air. Under stairs is like a attic in moisture terms. Very dry heat stale air very moist. So get that air flowing with a oscilating fan maybe get a dehumidifier. Do what you can to get that air moving and you will be fine. Also dont overwater. Get used o your containers weight when it is dry and then after a good watering. If you remember that weight you will never overwater again.

Day 22 (9 Days since sprouting)

The girls are looking well, they've had their second feed.

One node, still has cotyledons, seems healthy, slowest grower so far.

Christine Kochanski
Two nodes, Looks healthy enough though has some light green and dark green mottling on the leaves, though the leaves feel healthy. Still has cotyledons. Fastest grower in the group.

This evening i found a midgey fly walking around on the top of Kochanski's coir about 2 hours after watering (from almost bone dry), I'm unsure as to how it got there, one theory is that i transported it on some towels I'd brought down from the bathroom where a window was open. I used the towels to dry the tray after watering. I have generously applied neem oil and diatamaceous earth to all of the pots. I hope that he is the only one of those i encounter.

If anyone sees any obvious problems with the plants i might have missed, please let me know :)

Edit: Update on the fifth plant (the mouldy one)

This plant's blatant refusal to grow past two tiny serrated mint leaves led to the water in the pot not being used, lying stagnant and growing some mould. I first tried removing the top inch of coir to get rid of it, i also tried spraying with Neem oil as several people suggested it on my many Googlings. Eventually i got fed up and decided to go with the hydrogen peroxide. The stuff my girlfriend brought was the wrong kind and i just thought "fuck this" and used it anyway. The mould is now dead and the soil is both aerated and dry-ish. The plant, however, now has leaves that are half white. I'm assuming that this is not great. Regardless, I'll press on. I mixed up one scoop of the mycorrhizal fungi with 0.5ML canna coco A and 0.5ML of B in a litre of water. the pH test came out at a shade darker than 6 (i use colour pH testing, so no digital readout, it was close to 5.8 anyway). I administered this until run off and disposed of the mycorrhizal crumbs down the loo.

The plant is probably dead already but i might as well try a last ditch effort now that the threat of the mould has been eliminated.

Hopefully that mold is gone for good. These plants are resilient, so it could pull through. Is it still alive today? My hgk is same age and size as yours are. I take that as a good sign
