Equanimity's First Grow - Lemon Kush - Canna Coco - CFL

Yes of course if you grow in a soiless or perlite or coco you need to follow a different pattern as those amendments are nutrient free. For me forget all that nonsense. Organic or as organic as possible is what I prefer.

I didn't know that when I started my first grow. Now I know why my hgk grows so much better than sour sky did at that age. I think my sour sky was about 3 weeks old when I finally started feeding it, but it never showed signs of deficiency, other than slightly slow growth

Thats because the mother plant imparts enough nutrients in a seed to help it grow into a seedling. A plants food is actually the light and not the other things put in. Those things put in help it absorb and utilize the light in different ways. So technically it is food but the sun is the actual food. The elements just determine the efficiency of the growth.

As smokerjoe said, dont raise your lights up that far or you will start getting stretchy, lanky plants. They can almost touch the cfl with no burn at all. Use the back of your hand as a guage, if its too hot for your hand its too hot for the plants. I literally have mine grow right into the bulbs somtimes with no problem, just dont try thay with a hps or mh.. looking good though buddy.

one other thing I've got is a few salt crystals on the top of the coir; I've thought about ways of getting rid of them and all i can come up with is picking them off individually, hoovering them off somehow or trying to dissolve them through the coir and hopefully out the other side.

i looked at a bunch of reviews of different strains, it's not the same as when i was young; there's a strain for everything but the kitchen sink and they all have different names and smells and growing characteristics. One of the reviews i read went something like this;

randomer on a lemon kush review page said:
my date last night took 1 hit.
he accused me of drugging him & forced me to find my own way home.
i tried to help him, but he was terrified of me- i had to leave him.
don’t smoke today’s pot with stoners of yesteryear—

This made me go for this strain. It reminds me of that time i took a panic attack while i was smoking a joint and watching an episode of LOST; i had to pause it and go get some fresh air.

If anything i grow even approaches that, I'll be well pleased with myself lol

You can get rid of salt build-up by flushing with RO water. Super easy fix. The general rule when flushing is to use around 3 times the size of the container, and to not water again until necessary, which takes a little longer than normal. :nomo:
I looooove  me some Lemon Kush... well anything that smells and tastes delicious, really! You're in for a treat, especially if you can hold off the sampling enough for a full cure! :laughtwo: XD I never make it very far...lol

Very funny.

Ok, i think I've fucked something up...

Yesterday evening whilst tending to my plants i saw a sort of reflective residue on the leaves on some plants so i lowered them down from the lights a bit to try to avoid some burning. Well, today i opened the door to find each of the leaves looking like this:

I've looked at the plant abuse charts strewn about the net (which all appear to be the same chart with the same pics) and i can't conclusively determine what I've done.

Although i only noticed the shiny secretion on one leaf last night, they all appear to look like this leaf. The new growth tips do not appear to be affectdd.

up to and down to the third viable node.

I ignored the previous advice on increasing nutes because i had planned to top (and didn't want to nuke them with nutes). I think I've broken them though lol currently looking at the pictorial problem solver to see if i can find my brown patches.

edit: just had a look through the plant and pest problem solver and can't seem to find a match (i might be being blind) googled for pictures of heat stress, low humidity stress, light burn, nute burn and various deficiencies (since "brown spots" brings up at least 3 different mineral deficiencies plus a few pest problems)... I'm lost.

currently 1ML canna coco A and 1ml canna coco B into 2 litres of water. It's what i was using up until before i topped (i topped on saturday night and thats also when they were last fed). The water was left to stand and then ph'd to just under 6 after nutes added.
