DV8's Deviance

I swear these two make me purr like a pussy-cat. While they arent monsters theres a lot to like. My fav time of flower.

No world beaters but they are reasonably tight and with luck go chunky.

When I hit send on this order my heart swelled. Hope I can do them justice. By far the healthiest 2 I've attempted at least so far at this stage.

Was a proper growers day today, plant appreciation on my time. I dont stop to smell the roses enough, lost between the the last, next, and current step or day. Nice change this arvo.

I even warmed to this girl who Ive been mad at for a week or two. Ok maybe not mad. Disgruntled perhaps.

Day 8 for clones, no roots yet....fingers crossed.

My vegging clones look so limey its crazy, havent done anything different I can put my finger on except add a bit of blood & bone.

Alien looking, all purple stems and lime greens. Hard on the emotions these things.

Put a bit of N+Ca mix in them yesterday, be a day or two before any change if any....

Defol on lowers of 3 girls in flower tent. Opened up the WC, realky would prefer to splay her open, theres some decent bud going on there. Runtz just clipped and dead or near dead parts.

Actually the Runtz is looking a bit more like I thought it might on the first run. In my mind she needs higher heat, more N, and force feeding, as these 3 things have been the difference this time.

In fact Im changing my watering to much more frequently, this is something I hear over and over from those growers I watch who constantly put out quality.

Might go a long way to not leaving them so hungry. Its been something that shows up every grow ( well I overdosed the Blueberry) having them eat up lowers, throw brown spots and fade early.

Let go of my fear of too much goodness, tight vpd ranges and mushy root rot. Time will tell if it works better. So far so good.

Also read a fairly thorough description of the changes in stages in plant development in a thread trying to help with the OP asking about yellowing and early fade, on that advice given in that thread my approach and choices haven't aligned properly with plant needs. Trying a few changes.

Apart from snapping two branches off the WW in a supercrop attempt, alls good today.

I really do think the best way to do clones is the old fashioned way. Wheel totes not reinvented. I strike a clone, or prep a cutting the same way a nursery hand has been doing it forever. My strike rate is 100%. No change in green. Colder takes longer to root, but they all root. You watch roots, I watch leaves. Once leaves are growing I know roots are established.

The other thing you know how to grow vegetables, flowers, keep a yard beautiful. I’m not sure why watering techniques even enter your head. You know how to water. MJ is no different. Listen t9 the plant. The water tutorials are aimed at people who have never had an interest in fauna, well I think they are. Watering is going to be different everywhere because there are external factors, temps, humidity, indoor, outdoor, wind, individual plant need. If you know how to do it, you know. Stop overthinking, tick that box and move on.

While I question things about my grow, I never question watering coz I know. I think you do too.

And your grow looks really great. I know how hard it is to have that many balls in the air! Lol

I agree. And pretty much since you gave me your way of doing it laid out Ive had all but 2 of my monstercrop clones come up.

I can understand the idea of not trying something new but theres definitely some advantages in a cloner. Its a question of if it can work for me.

If I cant figure it out I'll happily go back to the old way. Im reserving my judgement until the process is over.

Thats kinda true. I know my words might not be recieved the way they are intended.

With clones I wait till they bottom the container and then uppot.

Up until then I watch the tops. Its more container size at play than roots.

Even roots in general, I think its important enough to pay attention to, but its not like a priority. Ill expand a bit below.

Ive thought similar things myself. Long story short Im seeing reason to give them more than I have, and it has to do with roots lolling.

Im gonna try cramming the feeds in a lot more frequently, to do it, more watering. Set them up earlier.

Dehumidifier has shown me how much moves around, way more than I thought.

I could be wildly wrong. Does go a ways to explaining a few things though.

Thanks Tra. I listen to your words, your thoughts, and you have always been a wicked cheerleader.

These 2 coming up have me in love, makes it easy when you care about them and what they want and need to shine.

Watered everyone tonight. Mid flower girls just started the serious lower droop.

Its make or break for them. Put the high numbers in feed. Have eyes only for them, makes it so much harder to know if its the right move.

Dont even care about the buds, its at least secondary. Theyve been the most fun to grow so far.
That makes me happy for you.

Growing needs to be fun first.

Did a do over on all my canna cupboards, and finally (!) put up some shelves in the grow room.

Everything has its place now, including the small tank which should bring the temps up a bit on the standing water.

The state of the clones caused me to abandon the cloning machine.
Its back on the shelf, try and rescue them the old school way after dumping 4.

The little girls probably need more heat, so Im rotating them through the flower tent.

Their colour is a little better now I dragged them out to look in natural light. All on the bottom of the pot, so they can giddy up whenever they are ready.

Flower girls are pretty good, evening out temps and humidity has seemed to help.

The older Runtz Muffin looks in good shape, small, but got a bit more colour in this one, greener I mean.

Purple Punch is the clubhouse leader at mid flower. Might be my favourite girl to grow so far. Cant wait to see how her buds finish,

Ive pushed all of the flower girls feeding up by a long way, it looks like no disaster is on the horizon so far. Still cautious and watching like a hawk.

Mate came over yesterday, from way back in the day. Super happy with the Runtz buds.

Its funny how we talked about then vs now. It does nothing but convince me more that responsible adults should absolutely have the choice to enjoy buds.

Hope everyone is having g a fantastic weekend.

Legit cant take a trick.

Budrot in the Muffin. One cola, pawed over all the rest.

Caught it with that tell tale dead sugar leaf, browned up and twisted.

Cut it out and binned it. Only a midsize one, and one of many, but it puts the fear into me.

Look it is a bit insane trying to get them through flower in RH 80+ days, big dehumidifier or not.

Doesnt hurt any less though.

Shes got a good 2 weeks to go to get to 60 days, its way too early to cut if I can squeeze more time out.

Ill check over her trichs tomorrow, had 3 things to do at once today and checking for budrot wasn't one of them until it was.

Still pretty fucking doughy though even by eye. Bud swell aside, its just too early unless it becomes a have to do.

Never had it this early in a run, just pulled them every other time as it was close enough to shut it down.

Leaving her in will tell a story. I hope its not 3 plants in mid to later flower fucked!

Me: No more fucking autos!

Barneys: Heres some freebie autos

Me: Um, cool. Thanks. I thought they were gonna be photo promos?

Barneys: Heres some freebie autos.

Lols.

Seed day. Regs and Bubba Kush. And some newer autos. Haven't grown the last 2 I already had.

Grow buddy came over tonight. Got a bit heated over who the better plant, Wedding Cake or Purple Punch. Not legit anger, just discussion, animated.

Looks like Im stuck with the 2 extras flower girls. Not sure what to do. I feel like the innkeeper when old mate Joseph rocked up. Except the barn is the greenhouse in this case.

Forecast for next few weeks isnt pretty. Too low elevation for snow, but about the same temps.

If there were works, this would be the spanner.

Any who tomorrow is another day....
