Thanks man checked today everything is close to perfect fridge already had a nice smell to it surprisingly...temp is a little off at 37 so I cranked up the nob just a little more to hit 45ish....RH was at 51 so added a little more rice plan to stock the fridge up either tonight or tomorrow

:laughtwo: Didn't notice the pun until it was posted. Lol!

Ok...... I didn't get the larger buds aired out yesterday, so they had two days in the bag when I checked them tonight.

I let the smaller buds burp while the larger buds sat closed for the hour.

Larger buds come in just under an ounce at 68% internal humidity. I'm good with that. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Smaller buds are still around 68%. I've already given the BIL a small amount, probably around 5 grams, and I've likely smoked 2 grams of it myself.

IMG_97296.JPG

Started out on July 10 and it took until August 9 to get them in jars, a full 30 days. Great color. They look like they did at harvest, but brighter. :laughtwo:

298 grams wet going in, and by my estimate 50 grams dried, so I'll call it at around 17%. Close enough for me, it's all buds. 42 grams in the jars. That'll hold us for a while. I'll section off a part tomorrow to carry through a three month cure.

IMG_97307.JPG

The cure begins in ernest. :battingeyelashes: The smell changes day-to-day from here. This one has much more of what I believe might be a hoppy smell. That would be myrcene, one of those volitile monoterpenes. It completely changes the citrus expression. There are much deeper tones than I recall with previous plants. The most delicious smell when I break a bud apart! Mmmmmm.....

Tomorrow I'll try some after a good night's sleep and a relatively fresh system. And on that note, it's 2 AM. Good night all.

Thanks for update sue.

Enjoy your smoke and thanks for everything sue..

Only i know is that need to be stored in dark so chryopile die, and slower beter. Thas from me guys sry.

No need to apologize ognimus, storing in the dark is very necessary. We dry in cold and dark and protect the trichomes afterwards by keeping the finished product in a cool, dark space.

I personally have no problem with the taste of chlorophyll, and never have. Many a time's I've smoked the occasional leaf, awaiting harvest of buds, but being short on stock on hand. Not an optimal situation, to be sure, but it'll stave off the worst part of being without.

Thank you Furcifer. :hugs: You should see the grin on my face. :laughtwo:

If it's anything like mine
Awesome!
My face hurts from smiling and laughing as I browse.
This is great that more people are willing to give this a try.
It seems like every day a new harvest pops up to try this method.

I'm sharing my white cookies tester as beenin fridge for a week took out of jar and put in brown paper bag humidity is around 50-60% doesn't drop below 40% no higher then 60% temps 42 normal on second week for fridge will test shortly by putting in a jar in room temp for hr and seeing what she hold s for ? Of not 68% ish back in fridge correct?

That would be correct your Highness. :battingeyelashes:

Howdy people so I got temp right RH was always in the low 20s....added a few bottles of water and juice and after about 30 mins seems to be right I'm guessing temp rose because bottle were warm.

Just a little note from what I've experienced time-wise from chop to jar using this method although I'm sure it could change by a few days depending on variables of fluctuations in temps and RH from fridge to fridge. Today is exactly 3 weeks to the day from when they were chopped, washed, trimmed, and hung for an hour or so to drip dry, and I am just now able to get a steady RH of 66-70% after an hour or 2 in jars so I think I'm finally there! (At least on the smaller buds, I still have the large buds in paper sacks in fridge will check them later this evening). Went away for the weekend took the smaller buds with me because I knew they were close and wanted to be able to burp them down. Will take large ones out for an hour or two this evening and let them get to room temp before I jar them and check them

Well done David. :high-five: Three weeks was how long it took my smaller buds to get there too. Hmmmm.... the beginnings of a pattern? I'm thinking we'll eventually work out a tandem jar and bag method to speed the process and still keep most of the terpenes.

I've been thinking that it might make more sense to start in bags. That way they'll pull out most of the moisture and then the buds can be shifted to jars for a week. We may find that we can knock off a full week of drying time like this.

I'm pretty sure part of the value here is attained by not going too fast. I'd like to find a way to get big buds safely jarred by three weeks. I prefer options rather than one set method, and this process is so adaptable. I want it all, which in this case includes a way to get some of the harvest processes more quickly.

I have to admit, I love the smells that fill the apartment when I'm burping during the evenings. :battingeyelashes: Cannabis, my favorite air freshener. Lol!
