Dresney's First Grow - Organic - Indoor - GDP - Trainwreck

I'm going to have at least a 400 watt HPS for flower, possibly 600 watt. If it ends up being the 400 watt, I'll supplement with some CFLs on the sides. I have an 8 ft. ceiling to hang my light from, and I'll let the plants get as tall as they can without getting burnt.

I'm planning on about a 12 week veg. Flipping January 1st. Bringing in the new year with hope and flowers! :hippy::circle-of-love:

Second that Shotta. It's Friday Dres, I've been :nomo: all week. I couldn't resist nicking an unofficial bud off G. So after a speed dry I'll smoke a fat one later in recognition of this fine day. Well done you.

If you have the room, I vote for the 600 watt light- more light = more buds. I think your goal of 2 oz each is very attainable- esp since you are going to let them get big.
Different strains make for more or less buds too. Last grow my bombs gave 2 oz each and they only got 30" high. The pineapples hit 32" and only yielded an ounce each. And they were all treated the same.
Sorry you can't smoke right now- but worth it for a new job!

I'm definitely hoping for the 600 watt. I put each on a Christmas wish list from my mom-in-law, so I'm at her mercy. On the off-chance that she gets me neither, I'll definitely purchase the 600 watt for myself. :cheesygrinsmiley: I'm thinking she might get me the 600 watt because she can probably guess what I'm up to by gadgets on my list: lights, refractometer, jeweler's loupe, scale, pH meter, humidifier. :laughtwo: I'm hoping for a good yield so I can gift her with at least an ounce when she comes to visit us in May. :slide:

I'm sorry to tell you Dresney, but with 3 months of vegetative growth, you will won't even be near 4oz!! I'll stand by an estimate of 10+ oz with a combined yield;) Regardless of your lights (in no way am I saying this to downplay the importance of lighting and proper lumen output:)) giving a plant anywhere more than 50 days of vegetative growth, is when you start to seethe most rapid growth spurts start to happen, and its amazing really. This is all because your plant is mature enough to flower, but is still being held back due to its photoperiod characteristics!

And yes, I go with double digits for you. I'm also aiming for double digits with just ONE plant and 2 months of vegetative growth...so it's not that far fetched!

Here, give this article a read, as it really gave me a perspective of what I am talking about above: How vegetative Growth Exponentially Affects Yield:high-five:

You guys are giving me hot flashes with these numbers!

When I first put the seeds in the dirt I was hoping for 1-2 ounces. Getting more than 4 ounces is really exciting.... Thinking about 8-10+ boggles my mind! I don't even know what I'd do with that much!.... Ok, actually I know exactly what I'd do with it. :bongrip::joint::yummy:

I really hope everything keeps going as smoothly as it has been. Thinking about the potential is really getting me worked up!

:party::green_heart::allgood:

Have to agree with African Grower. With a veg time like that Dresney, and healthy plants like yours it would be wise to have a target of 1/2 a pound or more from those two :)

I wasn't feeling like doing an update today, but I was giving my little loves a drink and thought they were so pretty I couldn't resist taking some pictures.

And it's day 42... the day of the answer to the universe so I had to. Any fellow nerds :geek:out there?

I went overboard with the photos today.

I guess I was a little too rough! :thedoubletake: Sorry, Pasc!

Loretta is really taking off!

She is still tied up - you can't even tell. :laughtwo:

She's getting super bushy on the inside, too.

Bent her over a bit more, as well.

She's still going 3-strong. I hope she keeps that trait through the whole grow. I think she's so pretty.

I feel like they've grown so much in the past couple days. It's making me a little afraid of what's going to happen in the next few weeks. Maybe January 1st is too long to wait to flip. They're going to be beastly! :laughtwo:

All right. I'm going to go drown myself in Nyquil and hope to shake this dreadful cold I have.

:green_heart:

Wow, for your first run, EVERYTHING looks perfect! Great job so far Dresney :thumb:

..and a piece of advice, don't cut back TOO much on the vegetative growth, you will really thank us all when you see how much more you will be able to produce every EXTRA week of vegetative growth you invest in. If you have the time, why not go for it! And don't be afraid of space concerns, as you have an 8 foot ceiling. Once you start getting comfortable with your training, you will then be able to predict growth patterns and position certain branches to suit your space restrictions. As long they are no taller than 5 feet by the time you go into flower, you should be fine.

Just to be sure can you take a few measurements for me:

1.Height of the final pots you will flower in
2.Height from the floor to the highest point your HID can be harnessed from

What gives you this conclusion?
That pretty plant of yours is what I read to be a triploid its basically the first cross of a polyploid which is basically a genetically modified plant. That babies mother was treated with colchicine at least that's what the info says.... these plants test way higher for THC and cbd so u got yourself a keeper there clone her immediately

Hi Dresney:ciao:
Your girls are so cute and healthy- its going to be fun watching the long veg you have planned.
Get some rest. And heres hoping you soon feel as healthy as your plants!

Thanks, LA! I can't take all the credit though - all you wonderful 420 contributors taught me everything I know. :high-five:

AG, I will take some measurements tomorrow. I'm going to modify my shelves a bit. If you look closely at the last picture I posted of their home you can see that I pushed 3 shelves down to the floor. If I remove those completely I'll gain about 6 more inches in height. The pots they're in are the final ones (7 gallons). I will measure the height tomorrow, but I'd guess they're probably 12-15" high. (I'm already snuggled under my covers in bed waiting for the Nyquil to kick in. Pretty sure I've built up a tolerance to it over the past week. :rolleyes3) And thanks the kind words - it really means a lot to me!

I'm going to try to stick with that 1/1 flip date. You really think they could hit 5' by then?! That's crazy! It's a little intimidating, actually. You guys are going to have to keep me in check with the LST or whatever I need to do. Don't let me wuss out.

DoctorJayebud - That's interesting information. I'll definitely read up on that more. I was planning on trying my hand at cloning either way though, so keep your fingers crossed that I get at least one to take. :thumb:

Thanks so much, Flo! I swear they've grown a couple inches in the past few days. January 1st seems soooo far away now that I realize how fast they're going to start growing.

Why do people flip so early if the yield grows exponentially with a longer veg? To fit in more grows?

Again, thanks for all the input and compliments. Pascalle and Loretta wouldn't be here without you all! :circle-of-love:

>>> Why do people flip so early if the yield grows exponentially with a longer veg? To fit in more grows?

Exactly! Also, for space restrictions. And for some reason, just the lack of patients. I was guilty of this sadly :/

I'll be waiting for those measurements! And do me a favor and feel better tomorrow, we need you nice and healthy to keep your ladies nice and green ;)
