Donpaul.p's Latest 400 Watt HPS Grow

my laptop is pretty old but faster than most new laptops, my mom spent £1000 on hers and mine cost me £50 not working so i sorted it out added some ram and bigger hard drive and over clocked it and its much quicker than my moms new laptop, this one must be 7 years old, its on old compaq presario, i stripped all the software back and kept just what i needed, dumped all the heavy programs that i never use as its only used for the net so dont need all the bells and whistles on this one,
its plenty fast enough for porn, its my connection thats not the quickest

my moms bogs down when you have a dvd and a few tube vids running, but this wreck of laptop just dont bog down now i deleted everything, id rather watch vids on this then use my moms to watch vids, but i think i may be pushing it to much, i already over clocked it a few months back but gpu and cpu temps where still in the 50c range so they can easily be pushed up to 55c without any issues, so ive ramped it up some more and its still within correct running temps, fan is not spinning up so its running at low temps still, so in theory i could push it some more but i keep getting explore.exe errors and never had them until i pushed it some more last night, but i cant find what causing the erros, maybe its a virus or the bios not liking the new settings, its working great but every hour or 2 i get this error msg pop up but i click ok and it goes away,

ill run a registry scan and see whats going on, something clearly wrong somewhere but its pointing towards it been a windows probem so think ive not pushed it to far, usually if you push them to far the gpu and cpu hit 60c and the fan starts goint mental then it clicks and shuts down to prevent damage to the processors, so im leaning more towards a windows error, but its only started doing it since i pushed it for more power, your not suppose to be able to over clock the presario but ive found a way of doing it so its been pushed.

when i get my new phone contract ill get a new laptop with it then ill see how far this machine will go, ive just not had any problems with it and its a lot quicker than most new laptops so ive never replaced it, but ive got to get a new phone so the shop i go to gives away a gift when you take out a contract, well they say its a gift but its more like the price of the contract is slightly higher so you end up paying for it in the end, but still works out much cheaper than buying a new laptop and a new phone.

im also looking forward to getting the ps4, i reserved one ages ago and managed to pay it off, but im like a kid waiting for xmas, i love my computers, ive been repairing xbox and playstations for a few years, but im a playstaion fan so reserved and paid for the ps4 with cod ghost, just got to wait now until the 7th of dec to have it delivered, ive been waiting 2 years just for the release date, now i just got to wait for it to be delivered. im one of the experts on fixya if any of you have come across them.

@Spimp, if it was legal to post pollen id get you some fem pollen sorted from my next batch of plants, at the minute im still collecting auto pollen from the huge male kc45 auto so ive got plenty of auto pollen for the fem kc45 auto and possible the auto bubble fem if i lik the way it grows and now ive planted the northern lights auto i may even use it on that, that should give me plenty of auto seeds so i can run some light schedule tests,

good weekend to ya DP
a ps fan woohoo
I like to wait till the price drops before I buy a new system
lol

hey bro, be carefull with overclocking, its not just heat you need to worry about. when you mess with overclocking you change all the voltages and bad things can happen. I used to be an overclocking fiend, but these days im more happy with a decent APU and I like to underclock if need be, just to make my computer last. I LOVE my new computer, 4ghz A series APU (that's right, CPU a thing of the past =D) and 8 gigs of ram......now I just have to install a 64 bit os so I can use all 8 gigs of ram lol

2-1-6 grow
5-0-1 micro
0-5-4 bloom
2-4-10 bloom booster
schedule says use 12ml grow, 7ml micro, 20ml bloom, 8ml bloom booster

that should give you

4.8 -2.4- 14.4 grow
7 - 0 - 5 micro
0 - 20- 16 bloom
3.2 -6.4-16 bloom booster
=
N - P - K
15 - 28.8- 51.4
without the bloom that would give you
15 - 8.8 - 35.4
i would not increase the bloom booster as that will greatly increase the Potassium, instead i would find a product with enough Phosphate to use with your other products.

its best to follow your 1st mind..then you won't be saying..i wish i had....
so true, in every aspect of life

just had an auto sprout in my 2 liter dwc sir, and i will put a journal up in a few days on that. I read somewhere that autos have an extremely aggressive taproot, so it shouldn't take long for the roots to grow down into the res. It will be interesting to see how it does in the dwc though, i'm looking forward to it.
& im looking forward to your journal

Hey Gig, this is meant with the utmost respect. Nowadays CPU's are designed to be overclocked , if you look at the new intel I3,I5,I7, they are made to function overclocked continuously. The most important factor is heat dissipation. Thats why they come with these mondo heat sinks the size of bricks. Earlier models, like you said, can be run a short time, but you better have some kind of software downloaded that monitors your CPU's heat and sets of an alarm when it gets too high. A lot of this software is free ware, just look for cpu temp monitoring.

Hey Don, Never Received An Answer About Coming To Visit, That Is On Page 39 Of Your Journal, And If You Have Answered It, I cannot Find It!!! Please Check Out The Question I Asked You, And Let Me Know If You Think It Is Too Weird, But I Really Mean Everything I Say:high-five:!!! SINCERELY, JAMESTHEGREEN:thumb:!!! BTW, HAPPY HAPPY Sativaday My Man!!!

thanks for the info king, plus reps when it lets me as i got to spread it round a bit first, ill see what i can sort out,

@chronic, cant beat the ps my friend, i must have 5 ps3 and 10xbox here at the minute that im in the process of fixing, by far the xbox is the worst performer, terrible reliablity and luck if you make it last the warranty, the best ps was the 60gig backwards compatible one, that was the first made and contained the highest spec parts, after making that one they used cheaper parts and never lasted as long but always lasted longer than microsofts system,
so hopefully the new ps will be lasting a good while,

@GiGa, i got plenty of software that monitors everything for me such as voltage, temps, speed, load, etc etc, im pretty safe using all the software i use, i monitor everything and keep temps safe, i do sometimes speed the fan up on some laptops to keep the temps really low but i dont like to have the fan running at full speed so i keep temps down and over clock as much as i can get away with without clocking up the fan, on a scale of 1 to 8 my laptop is standard at 4, ive pushed it up to a 7 and could go up to an 8 with no problems but its old so dont want to push it to much, one of the main reasons they over heat is due to the crappy heat sink pads they put on, they dont use paste they use sticky pads which dont transfer heat as much, so changing that to heat sink paste like arctic silver solves many heat problems, the fan on this laptop has never sped up at all since changing the heat sink paste, even when im using videos or copying a dvd it still dont speed up, so the temps are totally fine. i do keep an eye on everything as i dont want to cook the processer or board but as long as you monitor everything then your fine, its when you mess around without knowing what your doing that problems happen.

the sticky heat sink compounds are also one of the main reasons why xbox fail, they use cheap heat sink putty or patches and this then gives you the ylod problem, which is the most common problem i fix, the other thing that causes over heating is the dust build up in the fins on the heat sink, on the xbox the fins are so tightly packed that they got blocked real easy, plus they did not make a good design to get air flower over the heat sink, plus i cant work out why they dont use some kind of filter on the backs of consoles, a simple slide in filter would prevent all dust getting inside the console, i make my own filters and dont suffer problems with dust, i also modify the heat sinks inside the xbox so it allows air to actually be sucked through the heat sink instead of just gently blowing over it, so using cardboard to creat a cover creatly improves air flower over the heat sink and that then stops it over heating.

i just wish these designers put more time into the parts functioning well instead of just making them fit, with todays technology everything should fit perfect and do the job its designed to, but when you outsource work corners get cut and parts dont fit as good as they did on the prototype, so then the consumer suffers as the units start to fail,

@Sativa, the software i use is all freeware, it allows you to overclock computers and laptops that are not suppose to be over clocked, but most computers are running at an average setting when they can actually be over clocked, some of the processors are more powerful than advertised by the company you buy your computer from, the gpu and cpu can work at a higher level, so compaq will say your getting how ever much cpu but intel or who ever make the chip know it can be pushed a lot harder, but to prolong life they keep them ticking over at a standard speed but most can easily be over clocked to increase speed, it does push temps up if you go to high but a slight increase will increase performance without risking harming the computer, your cpu and gpu get much hotter when your laptop is full of dust, so brushing out the vents is always a good option say once a month, keeping the vents dust free will prolong life and stop your system from crashing or running slow, the problem is its so damn hard to take a laptop apart just to get to the fan that most dont bother,

again why on earth didnt they make laptops so you took a small cover off where the fan is then you can brush the dut out, instead they bury the fan and heatsinks inside the laptop so you have to completely strip it down just to clean it, they should just fit a small cover that is held on by a screw so we can then undo the screw and clean the fan and heat sink with a small brush, but again these machines are designed to last the warranty then fail, if they didnt we would never replace them every year or 2, itsa all about the money.

@james,
not sure why i never seen that post, if i drove id be more than happy to drive you around and show you the uk, im intrigued by your comment about your last name,
i live in Birmingham to be more precise, if i was driving then id be happy to show you around but i dont drive, my mom runs me around if i need to travel anywhere, but i dont live that local to my mom so pretty much on my own where i am at the minute, i keep myself to myself so no one knows my business, so wouldnt be much help driving you around,
i use public transport so buses or trains or use my bike if im feeling ok,
but if you ever did come over these sides then im sure we could meet up, id have no problems with that. theirs another person on here who im sure ill meet up with at some point and thats GiGa, he was going to help when i got flooded and did help by posting stuff out for my kids, but now im back on my feet and earning a bit of cash fixing games consoles everything seems to be going ok for now, but at the time i had nothing and was really struggling to pay bills so he really helped out when i needed it so im sure we will possibly meet up at some point and see each other in person so i can thank him for all the help.

so yep we could sort something out if you ever did come over, its not the best country to visit and weather can be pretty crappy but if you got your mind set on visiting at some point then im sure its something we could sort out, the summer would be the best time to visit as you can go visit places and your not stuck indoors all day. could even possibly get GiGa to meet up as well,

so yep you would be welcome, i dont turn away friends, ive made many on here and the only people that know i grow bud is on this site, ive got to know you on here and your a decent bloke so would have no concerns with meeting up,
as always ill be keeping my fingers crossed for Y having and easier time and as always i wish you both the best of everything.

it nearly skunkday for me, just rolling a spliff to smoke at 00:00, not got skunk but got some quick dried ak47 x uk cherry cheese, had some last night and its a very nice smoke, same as it always is, it just seems to produce the same plant each time its grown, even when i cross a male and female to produce more seeds then when i grow them it just produces them same each time, so very happy with this strain, just wish i knew what it was called,

the white widow x skunk#1 looks a nice plant so hoping thats another nice strain, im really keeping my fingers crossed that the jack flash turns out like old skool jack flash and hoping the big buddha cheese is a true cheese, its a lot of crossed fingers but if it gives me the results im looking for then ill be very happy, ill reveg the flash and clone the cheese and produce fem seeds of both strains, so really hoping it pays off and turns into the plant i want it to turn inti

Thanks Don, Check Your PM, I Sent You One, I Think It Might Make You Laugh:high-five:!!! Do You Think I Am Being Macabre, By Planning A Trip Like This, When Y Is So Sick???I Mean I Would Rather She Got Better, And Could Come Along, But I Kinda Feel That Maybe I Am Being Disrespectful To Her, By Planning A Trip To England, With The Full Realization That If I End Up Going, It Will Be Because She Will Be Gone!!! I Don't Know, I Just Feel Like Maybe I Should Think About This Trip After I Have Figured Out If She Can Make It(ALIVE) Or Not, But I Do Not Damn Sure Want To Run Out Of Here If There Is The Slightest Hope That She Can Make It, I Gotta Stay For That With Out A Doubt!!!I Am Rambling, SORRY!!! Take Care, SINCERELY, SER JAMESTHEGREEN:thumb:!!!

yep...flushing is good...you may have a lock out..i still say cal/mag def...i sprayed mine with ep salts...1/2 tea/quart..folar feed for faster results...it will not hurt your plant..

agreed
