Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

re: Doc Bud - High Brix Q&A With Pictures

on the recipe / trade secret thing....i think different. If its your dish, no matter how much you share the recipe, no one will duplicate your creation.

watch keller or chang or julia child / whomever closely... you wont be cooking the same dish they are.

im gonna post a chestnutabis shortbread cookie recipe id be honored if you tried it.

True enough but those people are also being paid for that information they are sharing. It's not really their food, its the networks. I'll give them a whirl the next harvest :)

Hey Doc hope your able to find time for yourself, I know that your super busy at the moment and I hope its not to much.

So since I'm not doing HB ATM but keeping it organic as possible I want to play with foliars, I got a few seedlings in veg that just sprouted a week ago. I was thinking of hitting them with a light kelp meal and liquid karma to see of I can encourage better root production.

My soil is roots organic with 6/5/3, kelp meal, alfalfa meal, azomite, ewc, Epsom salt, mycos that cooked for 30+ days.

I wouldn't mess with the foliars bro. It might not hurt, probably won't help too much.....if I was you just a light compost tea foliar perhaps?

Sounds like a very solid, delicious soil mix you've got there. It will probably produce some superb nuggetry!

Thanks for the help, I can stay away from the foliar and I was thinking of doing a tea in 2-3 weeks. I think I can get away with it sooner since the soil isn't hot but I don't want to over feed the microbs.

This looks like a Prime Rib Smoke with all the sides!! What do you say Curso? I think we can cook a few things up to go along with such Beautiful Flowers!!

re: Doc Bud - High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Oh yeah we could come up with something with those :)...I think that lemon paki would be a fantastic herb for a salad dressing.

Oh yeah, that would work. Good weed stimulates all kinds of appetites.

One thing you foodies should try if you haven't already is mango. There's an enzyme or something in mangos that complements and enhances the psychoactive properties of cannabis. My favorite foods to eat at the moment is anything spicy, especially thai spices. For desert, I crave full fat organic greek yogurt with organic nuts and honey.

But prime rib will do very nicely, thank you!

The Mango thing is amazing!!! I'll have to give the greek yogurt a shot again, I've been avoiding the dairy it seems to make my joints swell. I've even switched from Whey to Hemp protein. But it sure does sound good with some honey and nuts.

The really good yogurt digests well, due to all the biology in the yogurt. Even mildly lactose intolerant people can have a small amount, unlike milk and cheese.

Awesome I'm all over it tomorrow, my wife is asking for a brand if you could :)

I finally found kerrygold butter, man that stuff reminds me of kosher butter in price. Total difference in the energy between the grass fed butter and the regular unsalted butter. I made my last batch of cookies with it (salted though I grabbed the wrong one) man are they ever good :)

Oh yeah, the Kerrygold is all about what's right in the world. Organic, grass fed butter....amazing stuff. There's a big chunk of it sitting at the bottom of our coffee pot ready to go tomorrow at 5:30 AM. Breakfast. I'll have energy till 1 PM, no problem.

The enzyme in mangoes is called myrcene

A high brix forum......well, there are two ways to do that.

1. Seperate from other growers and start your own forum for hi brix
2. Persuade others to jump on the bandwagon one at a time, based on hi brix results being journaled over and over.

I personally prefer the second option. We just keep doing what we're doing, as a subset of growers, and as time moves on, more and more folks "see the light" so to speak. After all is said and done, High Brix growing is really just organic growing with different soil than is currently popular.

I had an hour long phone call with the president of the lab yesterday. I can't say more, but stay tuned......really, really good stuff happening, and growers are DEFINITELY being taken seriously and some products are being formulated specifically for you and me. This year is going to be momentous for the brix gang.

Here's one thing I learned from my phone call: The single best thing we can do to our soil is recycle it with root and plant matter from the prior harvest....in other words, throw some fan leaves in the mix, leave the roots (except the stem) add biology and compost that for a month. The soil will begin to "vibrate" (his words not mine) at the proper frequency for the crop we're growing when we do that.

So, I just want to re-iterate that the second and third runs of soil are going to be better than the first. I haven't decided on naming the process, but we're going to give Curso credit for his method of soil recycling in the next set of instructions:

Cursofy? Cursoposting? I'll have to figure that out. Suggestions are welcome.
