Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

thanks doc, I'll follow your advice .nothing growing at the moment, do I sulphur each tent/cabinet or do I need to do entire basement? would wife shoot me if I do the latter ( how bad is it house stink wise !) I do use hepa filters on cabinet.

sorry to be a pest, I am assuming sulfur burn is for room/tent without any plants. I am only prepping now for my 1st HB grow and assume sulfur burning not compatable with docs' sprays during a grow. Does anyone use sulfur burn during grow with Docs' sprays ? Sulfur burning is new to me also. I know oil and sulfur is bad to use together or at least I've read that.

I have a buddy in Mi that gets powdery mildew all the time too. Guess that shit is all over up there

Hello High Brixers...I am in MI as well and was hit by the powdery mildew last summer and spider mites...it was like getting a punch in the stomach...I was shut down for 3 months and I was so overwhelmed because I had to swab down 1500 square feet, all of my pots, bottoms, and you name it that came in contact with my grow....so I had to eat an elephant....one bite at a time....I almost shut down for good....but I put in place more quality control....as Doc says, I reviewed my environment....temps, RH, air movement, clearing out leave sites at the bottom of the plant, and NEVER introduce clones into your grow from somewhere else....I burned the sulphur as well...only recommended on vegging plants, not flowering....very powerful and a great weapon....I have products now like Neem (organic) and others, in case, but no problems since....my confidence is restored, but as a whole, I am very humbled from the experience and emphathize with anyone facing this problem.....

The plants are the most important item to have in the sulfer burn. It's the plants we're most concerned with!

I find the room smells fresh and clean about an hour after a burn. Of course, it's horrible and toxic to breathe during the procedure, so keep doors and windows closed. But afterwards, if you do it like I said with the super high rH, your basement will be mold and mildew free.

I'd do the whole basement with the tents open. It won't smell bad after the burn is over.

just a cautionary note...:Namaste:
when burning sulphur, Sulphur Dioxide(SO2) is released.
when SO2 combines with moisture(think moist mucous membranes- lung tissue, nose, eyes )or water it makes Sulfurous Acid.-caustic
Acid Rain from volcanic activity and coal burning- fumes mixing with rain.

- in industry its used as a preservative. fumigant. :thumb: bleaching agent.

we have 6 yokhshire terriers that we take better care of than the kids,my wife will not allow any basement bombs going off! So I will sulfur burn each tent with pots and things inside, mop stairs and floor with lysol, run furnace fan that now has a uv light in duct, use wifes snake oil vaporizer in basement(smells nice even if it does not help), and order new seeds and a couple of docs' kits. I think sulfur will conflict with any oils sprayed on plants during grow so I'll likely stick with docs' leaf washes. greencure if I see any pm which seems to show itself right towards end of flower cycle. this PM issue is one reason I am interested in High Brix. I'll be looking for a couple mold resistant strains if anyone has suggestions. Thanks everyone

oops, posted as doc was also replying. OK I'll try to convince wife and take dogs to the zoo or something for a day while sulfur burning. At this time I am shut down and nothing growing so I in cleaning mode.

Sulfur burns are very toxic even w/o the sulfuric acid component. Breathing it can make you sick or kill you if the concentration is high. The acid part is a bonus. :cheesygrinsmiley:
