Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Awesome Mag7 welcome to the high brix looney bin. A few words of advice.

1. Don't do a side by side grow with any other method. Seriously. I did and I found myself getting irritated at my regular nute plants. Mad at mixing all the parts of the nutrients/calcium, triacontanol booster, silica, and finally getting them to a stable pH. Then I would go drop 1.5 oz drench and 2.5ml tea to my high brix plants water and voila! You see a calcium deficiency in your on high brix plants and are sitting there screaming "Why can't you be more like your high brix sister!!!" I warned Stage not to do it. He didn't listen and all his non high brix plants were pitiful (sorry man just speaking the truth. Your HB plants are fire.)

2. Keep separate things separate. Use different measuring cups for different drenches/foiars,etc. use different spray bottles too. Contamination will confuse the plant. Our sponsor growitbest.com sells these 360 sprayers that I love! Unmatched at spraying the leaf undersides.

3. Try to keep leaves on. Some love to defoliate their plants and Doc's system relies on foliars. For foliars to work you need leaves.

4. Try to buy seeds from breeders that grow and breed organically. You can grow any plant in Docs system but those plants that are used to an organic environment will give the best results.

5. I would highly advise you to go ahead and start with 2 kits. You can cook the second kit while the first kit is flowering. Otherwise you will finish your first brix grow and want to shoot yourself in the foot because you have to wait another 30 days for soil to cook before you are able to go again. That's a terrible thing.

6. Start that journal. Doc will be like a guardian angel over your grow and the rest of us will do our best to ensure you know what's next.

So stoked for you. The high rid adventure is an awesome one.

How's it Doc.. Just wanted to say a few words.. Hella funny right now, the first sentence to this journal is " i started this because other was getting too long".. Lol.. Anyways i love what you do, i love the non traditional way of thinking and curiosity that dosnt end. All wonderful stuff. When i started reading you and a few others here at the MAG, it has almost been like a college class but a lot more fun. With my current set up i kept in mind when you stress the importance of ENVIRONMENT. ✔. Now im looking for some advice as to how i can get more out of what im doing. Flavor and aroma is EVERYTHING and i truly believe you have unlocked an incredible new level to the TOP SHELF experience. Keep doing what your doing.

I will definitely take all that into consideration. Best part is I have time so I will order the supplies as I can and won't start until everything is in it's place and where it needs to be before starting. I know things will change and I will adapt as well. But I've jumped the gun once and this time I need to be prepared as much as possible. Thank for the advise Flip!! You rock!!

While im not a high brix kit owner, YET, i am convinced that my path lies down the high brix road, no doubt. Just got... Hoping you have some tips to help me with what im working with "SSm#4" i know i sound like a redundant noob, but i promise i follow you and your style sensei.. Just trying to get the BEST i can using what i got.. Would have just pM'd you, but my paranoid self spent the better part of 18 months lurking reading learning, laughing, hell i think a tear might have even fallen. Just tryna make lemonade ya know..

you should just order a kit, SSM4 works with the kit. :blunt:

waiting to hear back from email to doc. I will listen to to your great advice shiggity and order 2 kits! had mildew at end of flower this summer and cleaning basement with bleach and some of wifes' snake oils vapor she buys for various ailments, one is supposed to kill mold and mildew. also installed uv light in furnace duct. It was a very hot and humid summer in michigan but I made huge mistake bringing home a clone last april to jump start grow which contaminated everything. PM may be an issue. We winter in Florida and son keeps my moms alive but I culled everything last winter and was impatient upon return. I guess second to envirement is patience !!
It's concerning what is being sprayed on plants with PM these days and now Michigan has legalized mega grows up to 1500 plants. I worry about that because they wont cull 1500 plants if some toxic chemical will save their investment/investors. I need to keep my patients in supply and hoping HB ,fresh seeds, bleach, hepa filters,UV, physon20 and everyones advice will turn things around. I have 3 cabinets and flower averages 8-12 plants but may keep it at 6 this grow to help fight this horrible PM I brought home. Sorry about ramblin on. Great place to be and I'll try a journal. Thanks all

"..range from mad scientist to super laid back outdoor volcanic soil organic grow."

"It happens all the time. Let us know when you're ready to put something in dirt and I'm sure the loose association of misfits and Ne'r-do-wells will tag along and watch the resin build."

Doc, that happened to be my CB radio handle "Mad Scientist" (some- many of you are wondering whats he smokin' and whats a "CB radio")
:)

Thank you, Doc! :circle-of-love:

I actually had you in mind as one bookend.....and Conradino as the other, with the rest of us in between somewhere. :circle-of-love:

Get a sulfur vaporizer and your PM problems will be gone on the first application.

1. cover/remove electric stuff like LED's, temp probes, etc. Turn off fans, but leave AC ON, even if it's just on fan only setting.
2. Get Rh in room/basement up to 90% or higher
3. Run sulfur burner for 6 hours.

You're done. No more PM. Put all your pots and containers in the room too. The plants will love this treatment.
