Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Thank you all. I sprayed with de-stress today and boy was that a scary couple of hours! :)

Aruu, welcome aboard brotha....As far as defol. The only leaves you should remove are any thing that is right at soil level , leave everything else as is , like Major and Ziggs said. Why was it scary...couple hrs.? spraying De Stress? Cheers.

Thank you, glad to be here. Immediately after spraying i had this insane dropping effect. The soil was a bit dry so I gave it a top off and let it be. An hour later she was perky as can be.

Getting ready for harvest on the Advanced 650 side. Then I'll be prepping for a brand new journal featuring those lights. They work really well.

Lights, Cannabis, Action!

looking great Doc.

Doc, what are your favorite strains?
:)

Well, nothing beats the Lemon Paki. Seriously.

I also really like Willie Nelson to smoke, but I do not like growing it so much. I love growing these Colombians because perhaps more than any other strain I've grown so far they friggin' love the High Brix soil and it's fun to grow plants that nice.

I've got three new strains getting ready to make a debut: Gorilla Glue, Skywalker OG and Sour Grape. Could be a tangie coming too, depending.

Hey Doc,,, I'm getting a GG clone the next day or two. That's sweet you're going to run it. I'm also going to get sour D or GSC. (Any suggestions between the two)

Let me ask you this. I'm getting it from a legal place that's selling me the soil. Apparently, the plant is just, there. :cheesygrinsmiley: Anyway, it's in their proprietary soil, which again, I'm buying. One gallon of it. So, i was thinking of pulling clones from it at some point, and then i would run those clones in your kit. I'd veg and flower the plant itself in probably coast of Maine soil.

But, is there anyway i can take the one gallon, in their soil, and flip into a 3 gallon of your kit to veg a bit? (there small when i get them from the pictures i see, but I'm cool with the deal) then id flower in a 7g of your kit also

Thanks!

bump: Sorry for asking this here since I'm not DBHB yet, its just that I have read this entire thread and feel like I know you guys and trust you.
Hey guys, I put this Wonder woman Fem. into flower two weeks ago. What should I top dress with at this point to really help those buds take off? Remember, I am not High Brix yet but am using a "super soil" recipe. Have added CACO3 as top dressing two weeks ago along with a bit of Epsom salt. Any thing else recommended to start these big potent sticky buds off right?

Sorry, that HPS hakes look ugly as you guys know, Thank you for any help!

edit: almost forgot to add that I also water once every other week with a basic ACT (WC,Molasses, alfalfa) at full strength. Should I add anything to the ACT after it has finished brewing? To make a nutrient tea?
Also the leaves look really flat (not so shiny as my last) with this one, my jock horror auto was beautiful very shiny "thick" feeling leaves.

Just finished up on the GG#4 and it's okay not great my favorite was the Mendos Breath lots of trics and color. I also grow the sour grapes you will really like that strain one of my favs

That was my first indoor run with the kit and it killed it starting some outdoor in 2nd run soil in 25 gal pots. Last years outdoor was hit hard by caterpillars lost a third of my produce any tips on keeping them off , anybody?

If you're going outdoors again this year, get a quart of leaf wash. It will keep the bugs away. You may have beeen feeding on the light side too. Also, 25 gallons is small for outdoors, IMO.

25gal to small? That's 2 plants in one kit. One plant one kit so like 50 to 60 gal outdoors ? I'm kind of liking that

25 gallons outdoors is like 6 gallons indoors, IMO. Sure, you can grow a nice plant. But you'll have a hard time keeping the roots in the proper temp range and you'll give up a pound or more of yield.

I like 40's for smaller plants. A 4x8 raised bed is good for 2 plants.

When you're outdoors bigger is better.

Right...might as well take advantage of the rising CO2 levels and really "let the big girl eat"
