Thanks Dr. Ziggy! Great pics!

Oh I had a quick question for you. You said you also do 12/12 from seed. How long on average does it take for most strains to go into flower/stretch. I need to get a new bean in the ground but seem to always be a bit early in planting then freak out when its getting to big for my veg. cab. Just put the Wonder Woman in flower cab two days ago and its a 8-10 week finisher. I was thinking of waiting two weeks, then plant. That way I should have between 6-8 weeks of veg time, sound good?

dajerm,
I actually grow less than 12/12. 11.5/12.5, etc.
They are already in bloom at this light schedule..so essentially theyre in bloom from seed to weed.
The seeds show their sex 19-23days on avr for regular and female seeds.
You can end up shortening a grow on avr 3-4 weeks, but I grow sativas, an the Sativas, as you know, take longer than Indicas.
I have harvested in as short as 7-8 weeks from seed.

I never grew Wonder Woman. If shes like her namesake from the 70s, Im very interested :)

The Wonder Woman fem. is supposed to be a really heavy yielder, huge colas of hard buds. From the strain reviews she does really well and most people would grow again. I can't seem to make up my mind if I wanna start a White Widow or a White Castle. Thanks for the reply and answer to my question. So do you feel as though the lighting schedule you use works better than 12/12? What are your yields like on average using your current lighting regiment? What were they like on a regular 12/12? Sorry about all the questions... i'm curious by nature:hmmm:
Also, How big do your plants usually get? Do you LST, Fim, SCROG, SOG?

Well as far as side by side...save your time and just go full on high Brix. My Brix plants are less stretchy, healthier, more trichomes, and better aroma in my side by side right now. I wish they were all high Brix so I could stop mixing and pH-ing my chem nutes. And an added benefit is this. Last night I had to pull the chem nute "x4" plant for nanners. I searched the high Brix counterpart and no nanners to be found!
I only had one kit so I could only do half my girls in high Brix. I am phasing out all chem nutrient plants.

dajerm,
you are invited to look at my journals..just hop around. :) I play a lot, smaller pots, mad scientist stuff  and my yields are not as great as someone growing the monsters in large pots; I will one day do the math, but I think my 2 4x4 tents can pump out decent amounts, comparable to the larger grows, of top shelf weed on an annual computation when theyre perpetual..which is easily done on a blooming light schedule. :)

I have a Blueberry Kush in vegging right now that will be a perfect comparison from the way I am growing now, to high brix. She needs 2 or 3 more weeks in veg. I will cut a clone or 2 from her and by the time the clone(s) is rooted, my soil will be cooked and ready to go. I can then have a side by side comparison of the two. ;) :peace:

Blueberry Kush......sounds delicious! I'd add some Epsom salts to that one at time of transplant. Top dress and let them gently water in with a bit of top watering. Still use the saucers, just pour maybe 1/3 gallon slowly down the top to get some epsoms in there. You might top dress twice like this....maybe 2 tblspn each time.

Don't add bloodmeal until you've seen how the strain comes out. It should be absolutely exquisite.

Happy Pascha everyone!

Man doc... I can hardly wait till I can afford to get all I need for High-Brix. I can afford the kit but I can't do both the kit and pro-mix. The shipping on the pro-mix is crazy and of course (small town) I can't get it locally. Oh well, I will have to wait. I did manage to get my temps under control, steady 81-82. Anyway, I love the work you do docbud. Just magnificent !

No big box stores in the area? Around here, Homer Despot and Lou's carry ProMix and SunShine.

It's not that I really feel the need to compare, but my plants need to continue for now. And, my high brix soil is a month away. :) :peace:

I had the same problem even though I live in farm country. The places that carried Promix only carried BX or HP with the fungicide. I finally went to Promix's website to see if they had a distributors list. Bingo... Now I had bunches of places to call to see if they had plain HP.

Promix is a sponsor, so I hope it's OK to link to their search page. I'm new, so go easy on me if I'm wrong about that.

I too cringed at the shipping charges for a bale. I could drive quite a distance to pick up a bale and still come out ahead of the shipping charges. Currently, I have to drive 40 miles one way. Closest place with plain HP.

You might even be able to save a little up front cash and purchase a 2.2 CU FT bag, do the math on the amendment and EWC to add. Maybe that would be in your price range to get you cooking.

I feel for ya bro. I live week to week. There is always something more important to throw what little cash I have at. Gotta eat!!!

:goodluck:

Nice man, sounds like you have a ton of fun! I'm pretty far from being able to mess around with my grows. Not enough experience and I need as much yield as possible since I can only flower one at a time. Thank you for inviting me to check out your journals, I will indeed read through them.:thanks:

No sir, I checked their sites and they don't carry it around here. I live in a small city only around 100,000 peeps here so I guess they think we don't need that kinda stuff. Pretty sad, I had to order all my stuff online, I can only find a few of the things I need here locally. Thanks!

Thanks for the reply and the link. Unfortunately, according to the dealer locator, the closest one is still a couple hundred miles away from me.Seriously though, thank you for the link. New or not that is a very nice and helpful thing to do. Thank you for your time!

I had to go to the Brazilian rain forest site. 60 bones shipped that way but it has been worth it in the end!

That's actually not too bad, IMO. Hell it is $50 here if I go pick it up.

I am just curious how the epsom salts will help? I am here to learn!!! :peace:

Epsom's Salts is just crystalline form of Magnesium Sulfate. Most LED growers experience some Mg deficiency in late stages of their grow and even kit growers have had some fade in late bloom (seemingly due to Mg-def to a degree). Top-dressing it is akin to "slow-release", so top-dressing and watering in allows the Mg to dissolve and leech into the grow medium.
