Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Yep! I'm now putting the Epsom Salts on top, right after the second watering. No blood meal on those, but if they were frankenweed, I'd do that too.

So blood meal on top of frankenstiens........I mixed my 1/8 cup in the soil during transplant?.........hey doc on clones how long do you let them root......my first showed roots in 9 days and I snipped them off....the next day I had tons more popping out so I transplanted to one gallon.....should I have let it going in the cloner for longer? I'm not complaining she looks waxing and happy just trying to be the most efficient.....lol

Edit: fifth pic down......a bleached top?

Adding it in the root zone is fine. top dressing is fine....the blood meal is pretty fast to assimilate and it does leech. Experiment and see what works best for you!

Clones: snip roots once or twice before putting into soil.

And yep! That's a bleached top. It's the only complaint I have with LED's.

doc, why not blood meal for all and not just frankenweed...I saw great results using with landraces..

I tried it with some Colombian's and Paki's.....definitely weakened them. I had webbing and yellow leaves. They come out much better without it.

But the Grape Stomper? Oh man....the blood meal just fixed that strain.

I've tried guano....no help. Bonemeal....meh. I was always thinking "Phosphorus!" But it turns out that organic nitrogen works much better on those crazy strains. Load up on NH3 and MgSO4.

Hey Doc., i was contemplating adding some Bloodmeal to one of the two pots my next round. I still have time to mix in some for the Kosher Kush's. What ya think?

Try it and see how you like it. Just remember it's fast release, relatively speaking, so you can easily overdo it. But that also means that you can top dress it and it works a bit like the Cat Drench but slower. The Epsoms get the sulfur, and the WayAhead and Brix give enough phosphates so you can skip or decrease on Cat Drench.

When do you add growth energy? My seedling has the second set of leaves (after cotyledon) forming and I'm not quite sure when do that particular drench. One seedling from initial batch failed so new one was planted and popped this morning. Need to find me a syringe with some small increments for measuring purposes, with only 2 plants I am using barely any of the products!

I use baby measuring tubes(in ml and tsp) and baby syringes(childrens tylenol has one in box i think) . found in supermarkets/pharmacies in diaper section or baby section

Hey Gaffle,

If you gave it a good soaking before germination there should be plenty of moisture in the container. If it doesn't feel super light, just let it grow until it needs water....really dry is good and then drench it.

Use the technique from the directions. Dunking works best. Let it dry out again.....water with 1/4 Transplant......dry out......GE......1/4 Transplant.....etc.

Start foliars when there are maybe 5 sets of leaves. REmember, for dunking, mix twice as strong.

My only experience with blood meal it's that you add a lot of nitrates with it. I added like 2-3 spoons per gallon once, and it was too much. Made the buds puffier and screwed up the taste making it harsher and more putrid. Be very careful with it.

Oh, most definitely it can screw certain strains. Like I said, I don't add it to "normal" strains. But certain ones actually come on strong and proper with that "putrid" effect.

Man!!! I have been searching high and low for some comments I read last night. all day I've been looking for the same information, but it was mostly directed at sweetsue. You were talking about Cation and Anion uptake at different stages and what compounds were best for different stages of growth... any chance you have a link?

... I posted something recently on what Cat drench is and how it affects mineral availability in the soil ...

I take screen shots of members answers and links. This helps me a lot. I just learned same thing as you from Graytail. :)
