Hey Doc this is my cotton candy 28 days since the flip all was going well till about 4-5 days I seen color on lower growth fading also some clawing on some
Fan leaves not all

Got a second Destress app and will brix on Friday

I have top dressed with about a tablespoon of Epsom 3-4 days ago and gave the first cat drench yesterday

You've been watering between drenches with straight water, correct? (ok to add 1/4 transplant to "straight" water)

I don't know much about the strain but a few things stand out:

1. It looks like it's been overwatered for a while now. Roots are struggling.
2. Normal for many strains to lose fan leaves at week 4/5 of bloom

So....I'd prune off all the bad leaves, also the popcorn on the lowermost branches. This will ease up the load on the roots.

If you haven't done a "flush" with water, do so the very next time it needs watering. Once that is done use the Rescue Drench, which is in the directions: In The Lab With Doc Bud

These are the basic instructions for using the kit! A few pointers:

When in doubt about which drench to use, use Growth Energy.

If the plants seem weak and need a boost---almost never happens unless you made a mistake or there has been some environmental issue or circumstances beyond your control---try this:

1 oz. Transplant per gallon of water with 6 mils of Tea. Feed a solution with this composition to all the plants. It will re-colonize the roots and get things back on track. Do not do this if you aren't having any problems.

our cotton candy's look so much different! i have a really squat indica looking phenotype but the nugs are beautiful and the resin production is insane

You have a journal or link to the pics
Love to see her

Anyone can jump in here. When growing with the kit, what would you attribute some tip twisting on new growth to? I know under normal growing it is said to be pH usually, but no need to pH distilled water with the kit. Only on a single plant which is sativa dominant. Any input is appreciate.

yes water-water-drench repeat has been the regimine with the 1/4 strength transplant added

I will let them dry out more between watering

pruned her up last night

Nanners in the canopy?

Are these what I think they are?? Green Crack, 62 days, new pistils forming daily, trichomes mostly clear. Looks like they're hermie-ing a bit. 3-4 "flowers" on the top of each cola, I wanted to let these go another week, but now I'm not so sure. Also have 6 other ladies in various stages of flowering.

I've read that: 1) this late in the game, let them (the nanners go) - though I'm concerned about the ladies in mid flower. and, 2) remove the nanners with sterilized twizzers while spraying with water. (supposedly the water sterilizes the pollen??) Any advice will be appreciated.

Here's what I'd do:

Take a large clear plastic bag and put it over the cola. Have a sprayer at the ready with some DeStress or Brix all ready to go. Reach up under the bag and carefully rupture the pollen sac and see if there is any pollen in it. None, right? Happens to me from time to time. I also get what look exactly like seeds but are hollow on certain Sativa's.

If there is pollen in the sac, without removing the bag, grab the sprayer and soak it all down, and harvest. As soon as you cut that plant down, drench the rest of the crop with the foliar spray so as to limit any pollenation. I'm pretty sure you won't have to do this, however.

Doc, my inspection of the nanner appeared to show some pollen. I sprayed and chopped as you suggested. Inspected the other ladies: a "sister" of Green Crack, two gold leaf of the same age and four younger plants. I did not find any nanners on any of the other plants so I sprayed as you suggested. Time will tell. Thanks for the advice. I'll provide an update in a few days.

I wanted to bounce some thoughts off those who follow this thread, because I know there is a ton of excellent growers here, and DBHB is how I do it.

I have Cookies Kush. Barneys says this is a 100% Indica strain, but this bean is twice as tall as the short fat girls and is just growing like a Sativa. I expect this pace to keep up in flower so I have been thinking about snipping it a few nodes down. Wanted to see what everyone else thought of this idea and any pro and cons you guys may have experienced. Appreciate the help in advance.

I've become pretty fond of topping around the 10th node level. By then, the plant is over a foot tall and the lower branches are mature enough to easily train into a canopy if you want. And at that growth phase, they hardly even hiccup when they get topped, jus' keep growing vigorously.

I have a general question of my own regarding keeping mother plants in kit soil. For those who are running Doc's kit, and keeping mothers, what type of regimen do you keep them on? Do you ever run out of soil energy at some point and if so, how do you address it?

I very much enjoy trying the many diverse strains we have available these days, but there are also a few strains that Ive tried that I absolutely want to be able to maintain in my garden...even if it comes down to mono-cropping for a year or so to learn every trait and/or quirk.

As you know, I don't keep mother plants. I just clone the clones when they're small. It works pretty well.

I have kept moms. They do fine with small weekly feedings all the way until they are just root bound and need an up pot or root prune and repot. I usually just give them a bit of what ever I'm feeding the flowering plants that week except for CD time obviously:passitleft:

I'm currently experimenting with 2 new foliar sprays:

The first strongly stimulates vegetative growth. I'm using it on new clones. It might-----repeat MIGHT-----be useful for keeping plants in the pre-preflower veg mode, IE no alternating nodes, etc. We shall see.

If it works, it might make keeping mother plants a bit easier. It will also work with plants undergoing photoperiod stress in the veg cycle.

The other new spray is designed to deliver micronutes, especially manganese and magnesium. We'll see how it goes too! I'm using the second spray on everything currently in the bloom room. So far, so good.

Hey Doc, I've still got a sample of OG Drench laying around, when is it best used? (I'm running 3 strains right now, thinking I will use it on the more unnatural one).

I'm excited to use the new micronute foilar soon, just flipped this week finally.
