Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

stole this from somewheres, sounds like it puts you pretty close in the neighborhood. I may go for a couple more a them 3 litre bags.[/QUOTE]

:thanks: BrixKlinger

48 lb/cub.ft
x 1 cub. ft / 28.3 litre
~ 1.7 lb/litre
~ 5 lb / 3 litre bag

hmm, guess I need a scale because my guess was ~3 lb/bag hmmmm.

So just now I called the source. It was a standout moment in customer service. A human being answered on the first ring. She knew exactly what I was talking about. I could hear her asking someone who knew the weight of their 3 litre bags (they weigh 3 lbs)

So my guess for *these* worm castings was right ...

3 lb/bag = 1lb/litre ~ 28 lb/cubic ft.

So that puts me at ~9 lb/half batch

A little lean but I was planning to be on the lean side ... I might just go with that.

Could someone please estimate the volume of a 30 lb. bag of worm castings. Mine was sold by volume. I put 3 * 3 litre bags in a half batch of Promix / ammendment. :thanks:

Hmmm...
The stuff I buy seems to be a little lighter than what I'm seeing in other posts. The EWC comes in a 1.1 cu-ft bag and it weighs 28-29 lbs. I used one bag per "kit" in the first run while cooking and plan to add about another 1/2+ bag with the Recharge when the time comes.

I wonder what vermiculite does to the CEC of the soil? Is it similar to perlite in that respect?

Vermiculite has a higher CEC than perlite. In some ways, it could actually be better that just straight perlite, but we're adding so much other good things it's really nothing to consider much.

I really enjoy doing this. It accomplishes several valuable resources that help me on my journey trying to grow the best Cannabis, consistently and interestingly.

I remember about 4 years ago saying on the forum that I'd be an expert in about five years or so. That means that if I'm right, in another year when I'm still here I'll be an expert.

That would be cool.

Doc, First of all, thank you for everything you do and how you do it; always with love, class, honesty, integrity, truth, humility, patience..im just getting started..
You're an incredible pioneer, mentor, teacher, role model, etc. and hopefully one day, a friend.

So far, most on the forum are friends I haven't met yet. When I do meet you, we just hit it right off.

Of course, I often persuade folks to try some Paki, so that might help.

I won't need persuading to try your paki, Doc. :)

Twist my rubber arm!

Question: can coco be ammended or used in a % to grow organically? Now just so you all know I'm not trying to start any shit (ok I am trying to start shit, but I'm not trying to justify coco for myself, fuck that, i'm trying to figure out wtf Im being lied to about). But I have been poking around this industry as it blows up in my face the last couple years and alot of hydro and coco growers are claiming organic. Now I know that we know better and we know what we know us clever guys here.

Despite our little corner of the world an industry standard of lies, waste, chemicals and greed is roflstomping what we call the end of prohibition.

Just once I'd like to meet someone in real life whose credibility in this business wasn't based on the car they drive.

So far it has only been on the internet, which has been fucken awesome (look at my baby ladies and all yallz)

Even the marijuana industry truly doesn't have the balls to try to be sustainable when theres a cash grab. We have so many opportunities to be leaders in agriculture, but why do that when they already have us with the chemicals. Lay responsibility on your fellow greedy heads. Money is not the reason we wanted to be allowed to do what we wanted.

The healing power of our plant goes beyond just physical human health, but our minds, our soil, our spirituality and community. Instead it withers with necrosis under our own free hand.

I am trying to figure out how much transplant to use when I soak the soil before planting seeds. Does 2.5ml of transplant per gallon of water sound about right for 1/4 strength?

2.5 is full strength per pot. 1/4 strength is 1.25 for each pot of soil.
I think of the water separately. What I really want is that feed in the soil for each plant equal. Important is to find out the optimum amout of water that goes into each pot toi and just rince and repeat lmao!!! :)

When planting seeds, I would ASSume you're germinating in small 4" (or so) starter pots, but even if you're doing 1 gal to start, you only need a pint or so of trans water to germ. No reason to soak it throughout. If you DO soak it, you'll not likely screw up anything, but it'll take forever to dry out with no roots sucking it dry.

Just saying
