Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Yeah Washington is a mess. Colorado might be a mess with the stupid lawsuit brought by Nebraska and Oklahoma. It irks me that so many want to kill marijuana still.

Earlier somebody mentioned listening to some good Pink Floyd while smoking with you Doc. Is there any Pink Floyd that isn't good? In the big scheme of things aren't we just Several Species Of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together In A Cave And Grooving With A Pict? :)

Everybody here called it "Punto Rojo", though I think its from plain ignorance. It was supposed to feature a red dot/point at the leaves. But I´ve never tasted it, neither I´ve seen anyone around here with the real produce. After some research I discovered that its name comes from the pistils that go red in middle to late flowering, also the sugar leaves can go red.

So... I think the actual name is "Punta Roja", "punta" is how you call the sugar leaf here and may also be referred to the pistols, cause they look like tips(puntas). "roja/rojo" is red.

:Namaste:

Sounds good! It's promising; seems to really like the soil in a really cool way. If they don't get too big....and I'm told they don't....this could be a really cool strain to have in the rotation. Goofy/stoney sativas are pretty damn cool, in my opinion. I like the soaring, noble ones a lot too, but let's face it! Laughing uncontrollably is super fun. That's what this strain should be good for.

I need to get a sativa - I want to laugh at my own paranoia :) Only once in my life did I have an experience where I seriously pissed off a handful of people because I couldn't stop laughing for hours. They would get pissed and I would just start laughing harder. The funnest time ever! It was my band members and we were bunked all in one big hostel type room so they were pissed as I laughed in the bed for another hour until I suddenly woke up the next day lol Then I was told I snored and that they only got sleep between my snores :yahoo: I think I was still cool with it - lmao

I really do miss those days when I could take a few rips and laugh hard enough to fart lmao!!! :)

Hey Doc!

Finally got some plants in High Brix and I have em in my new Summer Garden Journal! Come on over if you want (that invite is to anyone obviously) but for now I'll poke your brain over here.

These two Strawberry Diesel clones have been in Solo Cups of HB Soil for about 4 days now, they haven't done much up top but they have a beautiful root system. Way nicer than the roots in FoxFarm. When I transplanted I dusted generously with "Roots!" and then watered with 1/4 strength Transplant Drench. I haven't watered since. The day of Transplant I sprayed with full strength De-Stress and then again yesterday.

They were under the LED for the first two days, I moved 'em under CFl's yesterday because I don't think they liked the LED.

I'm not to worried after looking at the roots yesterday because obviously something is going on! Just curious if I am doing everything right or what more I Could do? Any input is appreciated (that also goes to everyone)

:cheesygrinsmiley: :cheesygrinsmiley: :thankyou:

I bet they hook up to the soil any day now. Then you'll see the magic begin to happen.

Right on! I figured after Doc explained that Coco was bad for HighBrix... ( Or how did he ever so lightly put it? A dipshit grow method? :cheesygrinsmiley: ) that there would be a recovery time after transplant. Like I said, the roots are beautiful.

Yep....look to the new growth. It should come out looking spectacular. Dry, dunk, drain, repeat. Just remember when I say "dry" I don't mean half dead...I mean just to the point of starting to wilt.

For years I called it "Punta Roja." Then, recently it seems everyone is calling it Punto Rojo. You're from down there...which is correct?

google translate says rojo is red, when i look up roja it says see rojo if that helps any

Sounds great, thanks Major and Doc!

I will watch them closely so they don't get too dry, probably will need a watering tomorrow then they should be close to ready for an up-potting. Can't believe how nice the roots are on 'em. I think they will enjoy the CFL's more as well, hopefully I can coax some new growth out of em!

Wouldn't the "o" or "a" just change based on if it was feminine or masculine... If we are talking about some female plants I think the absolutely correct (unless my nine years of Spanish in school taught me wrong.. which I wouldn't doubt) form would be PuntA RojA... The endings have to match.

Maybe Punto Rojo came about though Americans pronouncing it incorrectly.

cmon Doc, I only mostly kill them!

Whoo-hoo-hoo, look who knows so much. It just so happens that your friend here is only MOSTLY dead. There's a big difference between mostly dead and all dead. Mostly dead is slightly alive. With all dead, well, with all dead there's usually only one thing you can do.

What he means not to do bottom page 2 of my journal hehe.

Yo hablo Espanol! Rojo/Roja male/female versions of red. It's the Punt(a)(o) part that has me stumped. I've always called it Punta Roja until everyone here recently started saying "Punto Rojo."

Well, back in the day we called it Colombian Red Bud....and that's what I'll call it.

Columbian Red is good. :thumb:

Unfortunately masculine/feminine has nothing to do with gender for most nouns. A dog is always "perro" no matter if it is male or female. I would think the same is true for plants. One of the few things the English language did right is getting rid of gender in our grammar (IMO).

I have a question about my CO2 cycle. When CO2 is injected and the exhaust is off my temps go from 74 to about 83 and the RH goes from 40% to about 70% both will go a bit higher if I just watered. This lasts for an hour and repeats every other hour for 6 injection per day. Is this enough to stress plants? What signs of stress would I see? Would I be better off not injecting the CO2 to keep temps constant? Thanks
