btw CMH stands for Ceramic Metal Halide, they come as a single unit like the gavitas, with the small ballast mounted up in the reflector. They are even straight wall-pluggable because of the low wattage. They put out a crazy spectrum for sure. They also are a good low ceiling solution, as they can be run inches from the buds, as opposed to the 1 meter suggested/never followed for Gavitas. ( I plan to be the first man in history to run his Gavitas at the proper distance har har har)
Also in terms of spraying and using a sulfur burner with open hoods like Gavitas, fwiw, I've done this with no problems quite a bit, even when they were low hung (<~ 6' from lamp to table surface), even using a big 2.5gal plug in atomizer. I think its fair to say I've been both careful and lucky. As long as you are careful, you don't need much luck though.
Gavitas are made to function in a high humidity environment, so as long as you aren't squirting water into an open turned on socket you should be gtg. Even the components behind ventilation guards are protected by Gore-Tex.
