Campden tablets: I have found that, for home brewers, the easiest way to dispose of chloramines is to treat the water with Campden tablets, which are typically used as a preservative by winemakers. The Campden tablets I use (supplied by L.D. Carlson, Kent, Ohio, and sold by many homebrew suppliers) contain approximately 695 mg of potassium metabisulfite, sometimes referred to as “metabite.” This chemical reduces chloramine to ammonium and chloride ions, both of which are beneficial to beer in the quantities generated by this treatment. (The ammonium ion nourishes the yeast, and the chloride ion enhances the drinker’s sensation of roundness and fullness in the beer.

I know its pertaining to beer in this instance but what do you think about the breakdown of the chloramine into its components and how/what effect theyd have on cannabis?

Probably fine, but if you're talking about treating tap water I'd be more concerned about the typically inflated PPM and alkalinity more than the chloramines.

I use an inline charcoal filter for a garden hose, good for 10,000 gallons ($50 or so online?). That removes the chloromines but not the minerals. The chloromines are very bad for biota, so you have to get rid of them, and I've heard of people using aquarium tablets, but not that it breaks down into chlorine unless that ion immediately bonds with something else. We sure don't want any active chlorine floating around.

Looking into it a little I'd be concerned it may kill off my biota and the other concern is it's a potential allergen. Also, it should be manipulated under alkaline conditions as potassium metabisulfite reacts with acids, liberating toxic gases.

Doc, I had asked how your beautiful plant you grew solely (and souly) :) with Cat turned out. Im curious about if you feel yield increased, decreased, or stayed the same? Qualty? And was the growth w/o any issues? Duration? Have you grown any plants solely (and souly) on Growth or Transplant?

Transplant is slightly reproductive, correct?

It's still growing and not even close to being done bro. I'll get some pics up this week.

I've grown plants with just Growth Energy. They turn out fantastic that way if you want smooth and sweet.

Well, there are other choices besides crappy......:laughtwo: You can get some floral tones and the high brix version of "dank" using the drenches which makes for some pretty exquisite terpene profiles.

I agree, just energy was smooth. That was the original recommendation wasn't it? The Chem Valley Kush I grew with just Cat drench was good, totally different than what it was with energy. It turned pink...

The plant won't stop putting out fresh pistils.....it's still growing.....triches are definitely there, but very, very small. The smell is BIG! Still smells like papaya.

I took a lower branch 3 weeks ago and smoked it. While I loved it, it was Too strong and racey....gave my wife paranoia. Hopefully the rest of the plant has had time to mellow out a bit for the real harvest. That should definitely be the case.

This particular plant below might just be made into BHO if it's still jittery on the effect. I don't think it will, based on changes I've seen over the last 3 weeks.

I'd use a larger pot next time.....but then the plant would be too big. I'll flower from an inch high next time. As you can see, the second attempt is better than the first. We're getting it!

It's very powerful smoke. Tastes divine.....just gotta get some of the twitches out of it.

Ya ...i remember the Kali Mist i grew from Simon had the same affect...real racy and almost unsettling, you could say.Just a puff or two and it was go,go,go. I really liked it in the earlier part of the day...but that being said ,that racy feeling your wife had will just get stronger Doc. I know one thing for sure...the "bubblehash" would be fantastic bro! Would prolly be a light golden colour that would melt just with the heat of your hand:thumb: The bubble from this MK (H.B.) i'm puffin gets you happy from a pc. not much bigger than a grain of rice.:cheertwo: Your W.N. could go another few weeks eh! I like your style Doc. I would use a little Willie before a workout. I think sativas are great for that. Have you grew any other "purple strains" before Grape Ape? I've heard that purple strains all are less potent than other types of strains like say white strains.
