Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Is it practiced with the kits to allow the media to near the dry end of the spectrum? Those plants look over watered to me.
Yes that is practiced, I’ll have to politely disagree, this morning after a flush and light solution last night they look a lot better and no more curl going on.

Good morning Kid! Ok,..they look a lot better now! Please let these pots dry out good now . U may wanna think about up canning them very , very soon,...like now. Get them into bigger finals and flip soon ok. Dunno wat your plans are but they are getting big and are starting to have bigger demands on those lil pots OK. Cheers eh.:high-five:

I’ve got about 2 weeks until I can flip them, gotta let the other girls finish that are on day 53 tonight then they will dry for about a week in the big room, then I will clean and bug bomb and be able to get those girl in there, might trans to 3 gals for a bit to veg longer and then into 10s for flip but I’ll plan it by ear for now

what you’re seeing there Is a unique situation Skybound. Kid did something ‘kind of’ experimental. This Brix crew will be the furthest away you can get from gardeners who overwater. The wet/dry, or ‘parch/soak’, cycle is a basic tool in our farming practices :ganjamon:

Happy 4/20 Doc and fellow brixfits! :cheer:

Hey Brixfits :thumb:, looking for advice on pest management. @Amy Gardner set me straight on weaponizing foliars with Destress mixed at 1/4 strength every three days, was it? I also have leafwash, which one is better to use if I have an option. I know leaf wash isn’t cool once buds set in during flower. I got a little aphid nuisance in the veg box
Cheers all!

Every 3 days, coupla times a week it varies a bit where DB brings it up, depending on intensity of the problem it seems like :)
Sorry AG, you might’ve addressed that earlier to me. I’m good twice a week for my ipm? I’ve never fought bugs before so I’m not 100% sure what I’m doing lol

For mites, Azamax is the best neem based formula for my $$. Just follow the directions on the package. Alphids, I've never had, and don't want. But,' I'm gonna hang around and watch you slay them.

SO hey Archi, as far as my understanding goes -

If you’re fighting bugs you need to hit ‘em more often because of life cycles etc. so that’s why “weaponosing” the kit foliars means they get mixed weaker - for more regular application (and you can use either DeStrress or Brix for that). Thats’ the approach I’ve seen Doc recommend if things are in flower, and in veg when Leafwash isn’t on hand.

If you’re in veg then the Leafwash is by far going to be the best thing, I’d reckon. I’m not sure about how regularly you can spray that though> Probably not a real lot, it’s a foliar feed as well. I assume you could mix it weaker and do it more often if you were needing to catch a certain pest’s life cycle, just like the other foliars.

I posted those quotes from Doc B in your thread because that’s as close to ‘instructions’ about it as I have come across - he’s just made the recommendation here n there ;). If you are in the need to weaponize the Brix/Destress foliars, the frequency with which you can do it seems to be every 3 days or twice a week, and probably could vary depending on the type of bug (and it’s life cycle).

The good Doc will be back soon :D so he will concur or debunk or clarify as needed, I am sure :thumb:

Right on SP, I have heard of Azamax. The thing that tipped me off was that growth on my clones was very slow and stunted. I happened to see one flying in the room about three weeks ago, but I got a sense of false security after hitting them with Leaf Wash and they seemed to disappear.
Now I’m here to fight the good fight!

Looking at the fertilizer breakdown on the label, the leaf wash is somewhat stronger than Destress. As you say though, certain pests have a three day egg incubation period necessitating the use of a product at least twice a week. I’ve been, so far at least, spraying it every three days if not sooner.
Perhaps it’s more feasible to alternate Leaf Wash and weaponized foliars?
Either way, I’m beating them back and I can see the plants are starting to grow normally now.
