Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Thanks Archi !! Those are the cats tit. Do you have one of these ? I'm wondering, how large a unit to buy? Seems like the more heads they have, the more they cost. I have 3 4x4x7 tents, in a 20ftx10ftx8ft room. It's more or less sealed. I have small window ac unit in the only window. The 2 bloom tents are exhausted into an adjoining room. Anyhow Archi, I know you're the man, when it comes to environment. I got one tent blooming from 9pm to 8am and another blooming from 9am to 8 pm. They say this mist is dry, so how does it create humidity. and does it rust metal ? I'm working with very little $$ Archi, tell me my cheapest way to raise humidity. This is something I've been living with for yrs., and now i'm going to fix it. Hopefully !!
I do have the 12 disc version SP.
It won’t rust metal directly, but keep in mind if you raise the humidity high enough you’ll hit the dew point and then things can and will rust.

For your room I’d say rather than try to lock in the VPD all the time, just keep the humidity in the whole room at 50%RH through the use of an Inkbird humidity controller.

In terms of which one to buy, I would warn you that the transformer that comes with the kit will run pretty warm if the humidifier is left to just run and run.
So you should try to pick a nice balance between cost and efficiency. The less the unit has to run, the less energy used and water from your reservoir used. :theband:

The 5 disc is the smallest I’d go. The 12 disc is a beast. I left it running in my garage, which is a three car garage, it completely filled my garage in about 15 minutes to where I couldn’t see from one end to the other. Like San Francisco dense! Tools started rusting which sucks cause I make furniture and all my handplanes had to have the rust busted.

We Brixers don' like fabric pots. :cheesygrinsmiley:

So far, the evidence is that solid pots work better. I think the advantage of root pruning is lost in this HB soil. Some people use fabric with success, but many others have had issues with root health. Doc Bud recommends against fabric pots.
I used fabric this round, but will try 10 gallon plastic next

Hey Brixxers! I have a new journal up and going! I hope some of you guys can join me on this journey!
Winter is Coming!

Dammit Archi, that's a lot of mist !! So do you think a 5 head would do my room. I don't want SF fog, but I'd like 50-55% rh in my room. I know this would be easier, if I was running leds instead of cmh & hid lights, but I can't swing the $$ to upgrade, right now. At this time, I'm just hanging towels, & spraying water on the tent walls and as long as I change the towels twice a day, it will keep me up close to 40% rh. Everything is healthy !! My heat will be turned off any time now, and that will help the overall situation. Thanks for your advise, Archi !! Now back to page 662 of this journal.

Why mess with success Farmer? You crushed it! Everything is worth trying but when things are working that well, not sure it's worth it....? I'm using plastic now but loved my #10 root pouch pots!

:passitleft:
I don’t think I disturbed the root system much when moving I bought saucers and stands so I was able to spin the stand. I was happy with the results if that’s the only difference

I bought fabric pots to start with while I was collecting all the things I need for the kit but then came across where doc said that fabric has too much flex for moving the pots. He was concerned about air pruning but the bigger issue was movement of the soil. So now I will use my fabric for veggies and picked up some real nice plastic 10 gallon. They have a nice lip on them that should be great for drilling some hole for training tie downs. I’ve stuck to the same system for lots of years now because I go by the mantra of it ain’t broke don’t fix it haha :lot-o-toke:

Ok I’m looking for a unicorn here. Back in the 90s there was some amazing stuff that smelled and tasted like you were hit by a truckload of pine trees. Up in New England we always called it Christmas tree bud. I’ve searched all over google and there’s numerous articles and posts discussing this but no solid results. I know there’s many in this group that do testing and are into the more scientific side of this dealing with terpenes and all. I have virtually zero knowledge in that dept. From reading posts with testing reports I would suspect the terpene to be pinene. So I’m wondering if any brixers have been able to discover something like this since this method appears to bring out certain traits that other growing methods can’t. I am the same as many of you in the sense that I’m not strictly looking for the strongest produce. For me it’s the adventure of the experience. :nomo::reading420magazine::lot-o-toke::passitleft:

The Christmas Bud you are looking for I believe is the Pine Tar Kush. @Mr. Krip is doing a breeding project with them. Infinity genetics (Hazeman) had them but they are sold out now.
