Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

I'm still about a month out from being able to plant outside, but I'm thinking 10 gal bags. Maybe two tomatoes, one cherry tomato, one jalapeno. Be about 33 degrees outside now !! And yes, basicly an experiment for me too, but I'd also like to know what hi-brix veggy's taste like. Anyone know if hi-brix produce is available, in any store's ?

Idk if I'm a 100% right about this or not so maybe some1 else will chime in on this but I know my gramps always told me not to have my peppers n tomaters sitting next 2 eachother cause the peppers wud cause the tomatoes to rot. So I'm guessing it would be the same on the stalk but I could be wrong tho. But either way good luck hope they turn out for you. I'm excited to try out my first hibrix peppers. I'm guna use them to make my own jar of salsa lol. That's prolly all I'll have enough for is one jar hahaha.

I recall you always saying to mix 680 grams or 1.5 pounds, but I always see first run amendment being listed as 20 ounces on both Doc's site and then the zon.
Its always been 680 grams ....or 1.5 pounds of amendment per one 3.8 cu ft bale of ProMix HP.
When i order bulk from Doc , i always get 6 pounds...or 4 'kits' worth .

But a 7 gal pot would give you many jars of salsa. It's a shame that we can't buy hi-brix salsa at the grocery store !! Everyone's talking about how great & how much more healthy, but I'm yet to hear anyone in my hood smoking or eating hi-brix, and that unfortunately includes myself !!

Well all I know is since I got rid of a bag of hibrix bud to one of my friends all he wants is my smoke now lmao. An I guess even his friends said it tastes very good so I'm pretty proud of myself. But major props out to doc bud and his amazing product cause noway I'd be having this good of quality without it that's for sure lol. So thank you for all ur hard work in making this for us to be able 2 enjoy.

So I have completed my first Brix grow! Well my first grow of anything. For any one that is looking at the kit DO it!!!!
I grew 4 strains each in a 10 gallon pot here are my results
Those are 1/2 gallon jars full! Total weight just shy of 3lbs in a 5x5.

Your first grow, eh? You must be over the moon! :yahoo:

Congratulations! The produce looks great! :bravo:

Hey Farmer. Any chance you can embed the pics? Just use the icon that looks like a camera. It's just easier to see.

You knocked it out of the park just like many other 1st time users of the kit. If I remember correctly, it was a bit of a rough start but almost 3lbs of really awesome looking sticky buds is amazing brother! :high-five::yahoo::bravo:

Solo cups....... = equivalent to PH rake
But with the help of my growmies and brixers the grow quickly turned around and success

I would suggest Aloe Vera straight from the plant for rooting , it's just as good as anything you can buy.

And stop hamstringing yourselves with tiny little pots, especially ones that aren't fabric.
Just making life a lot harder for both you and your plants unless you simply don't have the space like your trying to grow inside a computer case.

If you're basically bottle feeding then nothing less than 7gallon FABRIC and if trying a True Living Organic No-till then really should be in 25 gallon pots.
Iam too lazy to do it the hard way so my minimum is 25 gallon Fabric.

We Brixers don' like fabric pots. :cheesygrinsmiley:

So far, the evidence is that solid pots work better. I think the advantage of root pruning is lost in this HB soil. Some people use fabric with success, but many others have had issues with root health. Doc Bud recommends against fabric pots.

Sorry to hear that, in my experience that couldn't possibly be further from the truth.
I have experienced at least 30% better yield, far healthier plants in fabric.
And I cant even imagine what having a far better root system would do to make anyone believe that a plastic pot is superior in anyway.

That's a pity

OK,...here's the thing. With fabric pots or 'rootbuilders' , like i use...the outside edges dry out much faster...this is the ONLY issue with them. That is the issue some members have had with them. However these 'rootbuilders i use are not soft, breathable fabric,..they are hard plastic , so roots get properly air pruned before they dry out near the outsides , like they do in regular fabric pots. Members have also said they don't like how the roots poke out of the bags and are harder to transplant with the roots holding onto the pots. I believe in my pots and i also believe in hard , plastic ones too.
If i had a choice between big fabric...or big plastic...i would go with the plastic, for the reasons i mentioned. That being said, when i remove the root mass from my pots the whole ball stays very much together because of the awesome , fibrous , root system that has been built by 'air pruning ' the roots. Cheers.
