DIY Stealth Cab, Hydro, LED & Multiple Strains in Small Space - Oh Boy!

Reminds me of the crap that happen in Australia when the biker gangs/mob moved in on the whole hydro industry- stores, suppliers, wholesalers the whole nine yards. IMO AAPFCO does not do any consumer justice, just an illusion that they are looking out for the peeons! When there is money to be made, the consumer be damned!!! For truely we are the only losers in this!!! Happy Grows ~H~

PIC UPDATE

Now that things have settled down a little, I can do a decent update on what's going on.

However, before we start the update, I'd like to pause for a moment of silence for Lucy the midget MJ plant who got tossed today so I could move the hempy AK to a bigger hempy. :rip:

Lucy had some good roots going, but not a whole lot of them and not very long...almost like she'd only been in veg for a few weeks and NOT a few months. The AK that was removed from the solo cup had more roots, but she was pretty rootbound at this point and really needed the move.

Here's the veg side this morning:

When I put the AK in the larger hempy, I also started LST to help make her like her mom:

All four of the PE clones are doing great and developing quickly:

And, I've had to raise the lights twice in the last few days because the PE and Hempy Haze are both getting HUGE....I don't think I'll be able to flower them in the Waterfarms simply because of the additional height. So, I'll most likely move to larger hempy's before I flower them.

Here's the Haze:

And here's the PE mom:

On the flower side, the development seems to have slowed the last couple of days, perhaps due to the heat or perhaps I'm just not noticing any major changes because of the stress on me, but here's the flower side:

I didn't do res changes this morning, but I did check PPM's and PH and everything was normal so I figured I'd wait another day before the change.

The girls still look good and AK colas are starting to lean from the weight:

Here's some of the colas & buds:

On this weekend's res change, I'm gonna start the Overdrive and the 3-week count-down.

Probably the following weekend, I'll construct the drying box and will post some good pics of that. Once I solidify the plan, I should have a good DIY solution.

I appreciate everyone's help & happy harvests!

:rip::byebye: Bye, Bye little Lucy!! To bad but you did the right thing! If you could have put it in the ground in the garden then maybe could have gotten it out of its stunt, but alas that's just not possible. Everything else looks no worse for the wear though! Getting close K~, can you taste it!:yummy: Happy Grows ~H~

might as well make a simple box like i did, took me 5 minutes to put together and i bet its gonna do a good job...but u just might need a bigger box them me... and the plants are lookin good... cant wait to start mines!!! goodluck with the next grow bro!!! :thumb:

I am getting close and ALMOST close enough to literally taste it!

I've got another Lucy seed and a lot more experience now, so when the time is right, I'll give her another shot.

In the mean time, I'll grow out the hempy haze on the next grow (probably with a PE) and then try to stick to two strains for a couple of grows - The PE & AK. I have a hunch I'll get bored with the PE rather quickly, and I have at least a couple more PE seeds, so at that time, I'll either add Lucy as a third strain, or stop the PE for a while and focus on just AK & Lucy.

Suka, you did a great job on your box and if you remember, I AM going to use a box...just a larger "wardrobe" box. But, I want to add some fans and the ability to control airflow so I can increase/decrease humidity as needed. I'd also like to encorporate some odor control. Then, if I really have my way, I'll design it in a way that the whole box can be collapsed flat, easily stored, and then re-used on the next grow.

All that being said, depending on how it goes, I may end up with just a "simple box"! :)

FROSTED FLAKES - THEY'RE GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRREAT!!!

Since I'm no longer stressing over the heat and worried about the plants dying, I went into the flower side tonight to get some good bud pics. The ones from this morning weren't up to my usual "standard".

Here's a few better shots that show why I'm gonna continue with the SSU :grinjoint:

Enjoy!

This next one is my favorite - check out those trichs! :yummy:

WOW, looks like beautiful pin cushions with millions of sticky little pins! Guess it's going to be easy to tell when they're ready to start flushing.

You have some of the most uniquely (in a very very good way) beautiful girls. I'm always
Impressed by your growing skills and those photogenic ladies.

Great job!

Great job!

Thanks very much, DIME! :thankyou:

I appreciate the compliment, but I have to admit, at this point in time, I think of myself more as having growing knowlege than actual growing skills. The knowlege comes from everything I've read, which is a lot. The skills come from hands-on experience, but this is my first grow, so experience is light and it can still be chalked up to beginner's luck! :)

Very nice Krip, I think you may have just sold me on trying to acquire some before my next grow.

Thanks, PBR! As I mentioned in a previous post, if you use it only as a foliar, it's incredibly economical and a little bit will go a long way.

Wow Mr Krip! That's incredible. I'm going to spray mine tomorrow lol.

Do you spray with lights on or off? Did I already ask you that? Simply amazing pics :bravo:

Blue, Thanks
:thankyou:

I leave the LED on cuz' it's not in the way at all. I turn off the CFL's but really only while I'm spraying, so I don't accidently spray and burst a bulb. As soon as I'm done spraying, I turn the CFL's back on. I don't raise the lights at all, which I'm guessing is probably much more important when using HPS or MH than with LED/CFL.

Buds are looking great Sir!

Those higher temps didn't seem to have an effect at all. Good for you! :thumb:

Thanks, WnF! Yeah, the plants seemed to have taken the heat much better than I did! The worst thing about it (other than my discomfort and stress) was just an extra res change for each Waterfarm this week.

I'm hoping the additional stress on the plant will help increase bud/trich development. This is most likely just wishful thinking, but I've read some theories that stress in late flower can sometimes be a good thing.

QUICK PIC UPDATE

I gave the girls a foliar of the fungicide this morning and changed both waterfarm res's, just as preventative measures since I'm just recovering from the loss of A/C. It did give me one last chance to boost the PPM's on the AK before I start lowering them towards flush.

They're all looking great and even the Waterfarm Haze looks like she might surprise me with her yield. But, whenever I'm in the flower chamber, is tough not to focus on that AK with her gorgeous buds and colas.

Here are today's pic's:
