DIY Stealth Cab, Hydro, LED & Multiple Strains in Small Space - Oh Boy!

hey thanks again krip I just read that whole article and I wil be following that example to a T!

UPDATE: WE'RE IN PLANT OF THE MONTH CONTEST FOR APRIL!

I was poking around here on 420 today and finally stumbled across where they have the contests for POTM, etc.

There's truly some amazing plants and I don't expect to actually win, especially on my first grow, but couldn't resist entering the AK on behalf of everyone here who's helped me get to this point - and there's a lot of you, so I won't be able to mention you all, but JCool, Turrtle, H, BlueDog, WnF, Hemp, DIME, OMM, XLR8, W1se, Hydro and others, you guys are all considered friends as well as inspirations!
:thankyou:

When you have a chance, you should check out April POTM Contest and the other postings in the 420 Contest Area. There's some real impressive grows! :thumb:

More pics coming later! :)

Just getting caught up on journals, Mr. K - that SSU sure seems to work! Love the AK. Good luck in the POTM contest, and thanks kindly for the shout out. I feel downright honored that you put me in your list. I went ahead and entered my Blueberry, too, but like you said - tough competition!

Oh, and :rip: Lucy...

Oh, and :rip: Lucy...

Thanks XLR8. My thoughts exactly on the SSU - I won't say I can prove it, but it sure does SEEM to work! And, my list sure would not have been complete without you! :)

Best wishes to you, too on the BB in the POTM. To be honest, I might end up voting for MV's Grapefruit Kush it's such a beautiful looking plant, but it would be really great if either of us won in ANY month. If not, that BB looks like it could have a GREAT shot at winning NOTM once it's harvested & dried! :high-five:

QUICK PIC UPDATE

Not a lot new to report today, which means all the girls are still doing and looking great.

Since it's probably been close to a month since you've seen her, I thought I'd start out with a couple of shots tonight of the Royal Haze. She's definately gonna finish much later than the AK, in spite of only being two days less in 12/12. Where the AK has about a dozen HUGE (relatively!) colas, the Haze only has 4-5 big colas. At first, the buds on the AK also seemed real sparse and, in a previous post, I had even commented that I thought I'd be lucky to yield a 1/2 oz. Well, she's a pretty interesting pheno in that she's developed all these smaller branches off the top of the cola that are all developing their own individual bud sites.

These aren't the best pics, but give you an idea she may do OK for her size:

And, for the AK who continues to pack on the weight & trichs. I basically have retied all the large colas to help support them, since they're drooping under the new weight, but I'll need to add some stakes or something for more support this weekend. I'm also noticing some of the fan leaf tips just starting to yellow, so I'm looking forward to starting the Overdrive on next res change, either this weekend or early/mid next week. I may hold off a couple of days since I just changed res's on Wednesday.

Anyways...here she is:

ANOTHER QUICK PIC UPDATE!

Things are really happening quick now in the flower side of the cab. I did a foliar of the SSU on the girls in flower again this morning. The AK buds are really putting on the weight and the trichs, now, while the Haze's buds are really filling in much nicer than I expected. :)

Here's some better shots of the haze than I posted last night showing how she's forming numerous bud sites all up & down the colas and branching out the sides:

Here's how nice the buds on the AK are looking today:

I'm really glad I waited to start the Overdrive and definately going to add it on the next res change!

Thanks & happy harvests!

Thanks Bro! I agree, and I know what you mean about MV's plants & pics - they don't get any better than that. Hopefully I will be able to pull a good nug for the NOTM contest at some point, there are some there for sho as long as I don't screw 'em up somehow (or smoke them first, lol)

Excellence Mr. Krip! :welldone: Holding off is really paying dividends now! It's been a big week for the AK's... big advances. You know, I read it a thousand times before I even sprouted a seed... but how true it is that they really pour the weight on late. It's like the ideal natural bonus!

Thanks, WnF! It sure has been a big week and it seems like they're realing picking up the pace! :thumb:

If you're not having fun doing this, you're definately doing something wrong! :)

I was on another journal where someone asked about the difference between macro and micro nutrients. Since I spent the time to format it nicely, I thought I'd post it here, too, in case it can be of help to anybody:

PRIMARY (MACRO) NUTRIENTS:

The primary, or macro, nutrients required by plants are Carbon ©, Hydrogen (H), Oxygen (O), Nitrogen (N), Phosphorus (P), Potassium (K).

Nitrogen (N)
Nitrogen is important for normal plant development. Nitrogen is a component of amino acids, a protein which include nucleic acids, enzymes, light-harvesting pigment and chlorophyll. Nitrogen promotes plant growth and dense, bright foliage.

Phosphorus (P)
Phosphorus commonly misspelled "Phosphorous" is an essential part of the enzyme responsible for aiding crops to fix light energy. Nucleic acids carries genetic information and is important in stimulating root development. Phosphorus is an integral part of nucleic acids.

Potassium (K)
Potassium assist in the processes which ensure carbon assimilation and the transport of photosynthates through the plant for storage of sugars and proteins, and growth. Potassium is important for water regulation and intake. Sufficient potassium help plants resist frost, drought and certain diseases.

Secondary nutrients:
In addition to the primary nutrients listed above, plants also need secondary nutrients like Sulphur (S), Calcium (Ca), Magnesium (Ma), Chlorine (Cl - not always essential), Sodium (Na).

Sulphur (S)
Sulphur forms part of two important amino acids which are part of the many building blocks of protein. Sulphur is found in B1 vitamin and several other enzymes.

Calcium (Ca)
Calcium is essential for plant growth, cell division and enlargement. Calcium is a component of cell membranes and is important for developing the root system, shoot tips and storage organs. Calcium aids in pollen development and help plants to retain their foliage.

Magnesium (Ma)
Magnesium occurs in chlorophyll and is also an activator of enzymes.

MICRO NUTRIENTS:

Aside for the primary and secondary nutrient requirements, plants also need several micro nutrients. Iron (Fe), Zinc (Zn), Maganese (Mn), Copper (Cu), Molybdenum (Mo), Boron (B) and Cobalt (Co) are all essential for proper plant development.

Iron (Fe)
Iron gives green color to plant foliage. Iron is part of the make up of enzymes and aids in protein synthesis, photosynthesis and the metabolic functions of plants. Iron is also required for chlorophyll synthesis.

Zinc (Zn)
Zinc increases the metabolic rate of plants. Zinc deficiencies will cause impaired cell functions. Zinc is also part of the make up of enzymes.

Maganese (Mn)
Maganese is part of the make up of enzymes and help in photosynthesis and the metabolic functions of plants.

Copper (Cu)
Copper contains amine oxidase (CuAO) has been suggested to play a role in H2O2 (Hydrogen Peroxide) production in plant cell walls during cell development and in response to pathogen attack. Copper functions as a catalyst in photosynthesis and respiration. It is a constituent of several enzyme systems involved in building and converting amino acids to proteins. Copper is important in carbohydrate and protein metabolism and is important in the formation of lining in plant cell walls which leads to the structural strength of the cells, and the plant. Copper also affects the flavor, the storage ability, and the sugar content of fruits.

Molybdenum (Mo)
Molybdenum is part of the make up of enzymes and aids in the metabolic functions of plant. Molybdenum is also required for nitrogen fixing bacteria

Boron (B)
Assist in the metabolic function of plant and aids in cell division.

Cobalt (Co)
Ethylene synthesis is a process that inhibits shoot development. Cobalt is an ion that inhibits ethylene synthesis, thus, allowing shoots to develop.

Mister Krip. :grinjoint:

You are amazing my friend. You help us all, with the research you do.
Not only for yourself, you post it for all to use. It's been amazing watching you gain personal knowledge and handing it out to all of us.

Wow, OMM! I don't know what to say except:
:thankyou:
and, I'm not worthy! :adore:

Greatly appreciated!

I've learned so much from you and the other growers here on :420: it's truly a pleasure being able to give back to the community, share ideas, and all become better growers together!

MORE EDUCATION!

I came across this 7-part video series on how to grow MMJ. It's very complete! :thumb:

Most of it will be familliar to many of us, but it's always good to get a refresher and it's EXCELLENT for anyone just getting into growing:
