Just checked on the girls again and had to raise the lights for the second time today in the flower chamber!
I probably only have about a foot or so more headroom to play with before they start growing into the LED. It's the kush that's the issue. I added another phone book under the haze so her canopy is now basically at equal height, but I can always remove phone books on her.
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the vertiical growth spurt in flower only lasts for the first 2-3 weeks? Is that correct?
If so, hopefully the kush won't overrun the space. Tomorrow will be day #7 of flower with her, so I'm hoping she won't be growing too much longer (maybe another 6" or so!).
Also, although temps weren't too bad, that clip-on Air King just wasn't cooling like it once was. However, temps have been great on the flower side, even with the LED PLUS the four CFL's using that one 9" box fan I picked up for $10 from the local dollar store (don't ask me why the dollar store was charging $10 and not $1!).
I put the box fan right in front of the vent so it draws the cool air in from the outside, and tilt the fan up to circulate the air through the canopy and blow the heat off the lights & plants. It works so well, I only run it on low speed, temps are great, and I haven't even had to add the 2nd Air King fan I bought to the flower chamber.
So, I went back to the dollar store today and spent another $10 (I know, I know!) and got the last 9" box fan on the shelf.
I set it up same as in the flower side - just in front of the passive intake, drawing the cool air in and blowing up.
Temps went down by 5* and I've retired the Air King 6" clip-on.
I think everyone gets the idea, but I'll get some pics of it tomorrow (unless I can't resist and post pics later today!)
