DIY Stealth Cab, Hydro, LED & Multiple Strains in Small Space - Oh Boy!

PIC UPDATE:

I now have so much room in the veg chamber, I don't know what to do with it all! :)

v11.jpg

There's definately a lot more light now going to the plants that were previously a little deprived. The Hempy Haze is putting out lots of new growth:

RH2-01.jpg

The PE is looking perfect:

PE-011.jpg

The LS* now has six full sets of leaves and is pushing out her 7th and is just about as wide as the solo cup and about 4" tall, but continues to grow:

LS-012.jpg

Here's a top view of the LS*:

LS-022.jpg

The rooted AK clone is looking good, but still focusing on building her root system:

CL-012.jpg

And, the three of the four clones I took that hadn't wilted, still haven't. I threw the wilted one out:

CL-021.jpg

It's Day #4 of flower for the AK. I topped off her res this morning. PH & PPM's are both holding steady in a good range. While I was checking, I snapped a shot of her roots:

The Waterfarm Haze is also liking her new home:

Here's a canopy shot of both:

Thanks for everyone's help & more updates to come!

Mr Krip are you for real a CRIP, like the blue wearing Crip that shoots Bloods?? Cuz if you arn't you damn well should be cuz your BLOW-ING-ME-AWAYYYYY with that plant porn!

giggidy giggidy

im so fucking high.

after reading that I can't tell if I should use that in the future as a pic up line or a way out of getting my ass kicked in a bad neighborhood hahahaha.

Looking really good Krip! How's that heat thing coming along?

WnF, thanks for asking! Actually, temps were fine today. I think I MAY have found the correct angle on the fan. I have to set it so its blowing the heat off of the light as well as circulating air around the plants. I still may pick up another fan, though, cuz it's definately not blowing as powerfully as it was a few weeks ago.

LOL...nope. My gang is a different kind of Krip's. We wear green and although we don't shoot or hurt anyone, we are known for our shotguns and power hits. :tokin:

Hey...I didn't even notice when I took the pic yesterday, but if you look at the first AK clone, it's actually started putting out some new growth! :)

I noticed it when I checked this morning and then compared to the last pics.

Nice to know I was successful on my first clone attempt and hopefully can continue the AK's bloodline. :grinjoint:

Keeping the light breezed up is a good idea. What are the dimensions of your passive intake and is there adequate space behind it to allow full and unobstructed flow?

The passive intake is a 6"x6" and there is enough room behind it. But, the exhaust is only a 4" with a 120mm and something like 85 CFM fan. It's a cabinet cooling fan - not a PC fan, and I thought it would do a better job of exhausing than it does. But with a good fan blowing the heat off the light at the right angle, it also draws more cool air in and takes the temps down by about 5*-7*F.

PIC UPDATE:

It's Day #5 of 12/12 for the AK and Day #3 for the Haze. The flower side of the cab is starting to smell real nice and the AK is bursting out of the cab already! :grinjoint:

You can get a perspective of the heights of the plants from this pic:

Flower114.jpg

I had to raise the LED by about 1.5" and have the haze propped up on a 3/4" piece of melamine and a phone book:

Flower212.jpg

Here's the first AK clone that's starting some new growth:

cl012.jpg

And, the other three survivors are starting to yellow, but not wilt at all, so I'm pretty sure they're using up the stored nutrients in their leaves to work on developing roots:

cl22.jpg

The other plants are coming along well, also:

v12.jpg

You can see how perky the PE is...I can't wait to flower her!:

pe3.jpg

The hempy haze is continuing her growth and I can already tell my next challenge will be in keeping her under control for the next 60 days or so. She's bound to get a good trimming at some point soon!:

rh.jpg

And, I just don't know what to say about the LS*. I'd love to say that I can't wait to flower her, too. But in reality, I can't wait to flower SOME healthy LS*...I don't know if it will be her, though!

She's still doing relatively OK, but I think I'll be able to get another 3-4 harvests in before she's even at a size I'd want to flower!:

ls10.jpg

Hopefully, that's enough bud porn to last till tomorrow, but if there are any notable changes, I'll post 'em!

Nicely done finding the sweet spot for the fan. Easy, cheap and fast solution. Bravo!

yo for flower what are you keeping your PPM's and PH around?
I've read for flower that between 5.5 and 5.8 is the perfect range for most strains and a nice guide for TDS is as follows:

Seedlings 50-150ppm N/A
Unrooted Clones/seedlings with first fan leaves 100-350 Whatever size you cut them
Small Plants 400-800 5-10 inches
Large Plants 900-1800 12 inches plus
I know each class has a pretty large range but thats due to the fact that every strain is different. Some strains like mine beg for more and more and more while others strains even in the large stage will burn at 1000ppm.
So of coarse this is only a good eyedea of where your ppm should be. By looking at your photos I would call those girls medium to large plants, and I would guess that the 650-800ppm would really suit them well, but of coarse this can only be an educated guess. But im am curious to know what your keeping her at and if you've found out what level of TDS burns her?
Take it EZ buddie and keep up the good work!

Right now, they're on a "transition" dose of nutes at about 1200 PPM. I'm not trying to push them to the point of burn and, although I've heard this, I don't believe it's an effective way to measure dosages of nutes.

The plant will only uptake some unknown amount of nutes. You can give them more, but they won't uptake more - you'll just waste nutes and risk hurting the plants.

IMHO it's better to take regular TDS readings. If your PPM's are going down, the plant is taking in more nutrients than water and you can up the PPM's. If the PPM's are going up, the plant is drinking more than it's taking in nutes and it won't help to increase the dose.

I agree with you, I think its dumb to purposefully burn your plants. So what i've been doing with the young shepard (which I have made a goal to master) is slightly up her dose by aprox 25 ppm every time I completly change out her nutrients in order to try and find her exact threshold for what she exactly wants. With the plant im co-operating with Heks I wasn't able to take too detailed of notes till now since we were switching off changing her res though we've been giving her the same ammount of nutrients. But now that he's out of town for 2 weeks i've been able to experiment a bit. Also its nice to see that she is Heks first grow ever and my first Hydro Grow ever AND this is both of our first time growing this strain. My current grow journal is the second generation of this plant (a clone), Heks had one but his clone died....told him to top feed but he wouldn't listen meh.

Regardless thats bad ass your able to feed her 1200 ppm at this stage, thats actually what we've been keeping the Co-op plant at. So this actually gives me some idea that maybe she can take more-maybe a lot more due to her size. But i'll take it slow the last thing I want is to burn her in her last 2-3 weeks of life. In fact I may not even experiment since she's so close to flush (though we are only going to do a 3 day flush based on an article Heks and I read. I'll send you it later if you like I kinda have to run atm late for school crap!

But!
There was more I wanted to write i'll get back to you soon Guy!

lol have u seen that episode of southpark by chance?
"im not your friend buddie-im not your buddie pal-im not your pal guy!- IM NOT YOUR GUY FWEND!

hahahah
I love Terrans and Phillip or whenever they feature canada or canadians haha

Quick Update:

In an effort to keep the kush under control and give the haze a little room, I wrapped the kush with some wire, just a single strand, to help pull/hold her together:

Flower38.jpg

You may not really be able to tell, but it did help (a little!):

Flower44.jpg

Looks like I'll need to raise the lights again tomorrow, too!
